IIT Kharagpur Reviews on Placements, Faculty & Facilities ,

Placements: Many companies visited our college in 3-4 years. Companies like Advent Asia, Rio Tinto, PSUs like Coal India, UCIL, Tata Steel and also other general finance, consulting and analytics firms visited our campus for placements. The average salary package offered last year was 6-7 LPA. The highest salary package offered last year was 11 LPA.

Placements: The placement of my batch was great and all the students, without any exception, got placed. 100% placement was achieved and most of them were offered above 8 LPA. The highest package offered was around 22 LPA, the lowest was around 8 LPA and the average was 12 LPA. Even the batch size was small, consisting of just 102 students. The internship was also good and every student got paid.

Placements: Placements were pretty good as 78% of the students got placed. To my knowledge, around 32 LPA was the highest package, 3 LPA was the lowest and 6-8 LPA was the average package. Companies like Facebook, Google, Coal India, ITC, Samsung, Schlumberger, etc. have come for placements. Around 50% of the students got internships.

Placements: The placements in IIT Kharagpur are the best due to the most number of placements compared to other IITs. Most of the companies come for coding, data analytics, case-study and consulting stream. Core companies are a little less in comparison. Placements: The placements at IITs are far better than any other colleges in India in terms of both package offered and percentage of people placed. 80% students get the campus placement here with an average salary of 8-10 lakhs per annum. Other 20% students easily got the off-campus placement with the same average package. More than 250 MNCs and PSUs visit the campus for the placement. Placements: Here, I belong to the branch that is instrumentation engineering. Currently, I am a 3rd year student in our batch till now. Almost 250 people have been selected for internship out of 1400. But intern selections are not yet over. So, its not a final result. Placement percentage is 94% from our branch last year. Placements: 85% students got placed from my senior batch. In placements, average salary offered was 6 LPA, maximum salary was of 1.2 crore and minimum salary was 3 LPA. Companies like Flipkart, Shell, Schlumberger, BCG and many multinational and national companies visited for recruitment. 40% students got internships and the highest stipend was of 1.25 L per month and lowest was of 10k per month.

I believe that IIT Kharagpur is one of the best engineering colleges in India. As it is a new IIT, it faces many challenges, and hence many opportunities. In the established colleges, you may find yourself lost in the crowd, following a path, which someone else has set for you. Academically it’s a really good. No life outside campus, you will have to go Kolkata for any big parties. Best thing is everything is systematic and follow rules. From the academics’ perspective, people who have a strong inclination can excel in their interested field. People can take up projects, for which the faculty provides a strong support.
