For admission to IIT Madras, candidates must pass Class 12 and graduation before applying for the course. NTA started JEE Mains 2025 session 2 registration on  February 1, 2025. JEE Main application form 2025 session 2 is available online on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. IIT Madras admissions begin after the declaration of CAT results. The admission process for the year 2024 is ongoing. NTA has announced the JEE Main 2025 exam date session 2. JEE Main 2025 session 2 will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. NTA has started the JEE Main 2025 session 2 registration. JEE Main Application form 2025 session 2 is available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The session 1 exam was conducted on January 22, 23, 24 28 and 29, 2025 for Paper 1. The last date for the GATE 2024 registration was October 20 with late fees. The last date for GATE 2024 registration without late fees was October 12. GATE 2024 application form was available online on the IISc Bangalore official website. GATE 2024 registration link is gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The registration window opened on August 30, 2023. Candidates can apply for the GATE exam until the last date. Before filling out the GATE application form, it is advisable for the candidates to check the eligibility criteria. In case a candidate fails to fulfill any of the GATE exam eligibility conditions, then his or her candidature will be cancelled and he or she will not be able to download his or her GATE admit card for 2024. • INR 1,000 (Male unreserved/OBC/EWS category)

Candidates have the option of paying the application fee online through credit/debit card and internet banking. The application form will not be considered submitted until the application fees is paid. IIT Madras JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 was concluded for different courses such as BTech, Integrated BTech and BS. The cutoff for the General AI category candidates closed at a range of 159 and 10682. During 2023, the cutoff ranks for the same was closed at a range of 148 and 11185. The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 3259. In 2022, it increased to 3881. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 1584 to 1666 for OBC, 961 to 1248 for SC, 558 to 500 for ST, 610 to 862 for EWS, 86 to 165 for PWD. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

To get admission at IIT Madras for MTech courses, candidate must qualify the GATE exam. The IIT Madras GATE Cutoff 2024 for the General AI candidates was ranged between 492 and 877. Therefore, it is quite likely that at the cutoff of 700-750, candidate can get admission to MTech courses. However, the choice of course would depend on the last-round closing rank of that particular course.
