Exploring excellence: Academic and innovation frontiers of IIT Madras.
Placements: In 2023-24, there were 445 offers and 407 PPOs including 15 international offers. Out of these, 25 offers were provided with a salary package of more than 1 crore per annum. More than 480 companies like Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung, Morgan Stanley, etc., visited the IIT Madras for placements. The average salary package offered is 22.31 LPA. About 778 internship offers are provided. Almost 90% of students got placed in our course and the remaining went to pursue higher studies and civil services. The salary packages offered range from 9-85 LPA. The top roles offered are SDE, IC design engineer, RF engineer, embedded programmer, etc.
Infrastructure: IIT M has 16 male hostels and 6 female hostels. Each hostel has a 24-hour hot water supply both for drinking and bathing. Each hostel is equipped with many sports facilities like badminton courts, table tennis, etc. For freshers, it has a triple-sharing room, and from the 2nd year onwards, it has double or single rooms. Air-conditioner facility is not provided. Each room has a high-speed LAN port. Classrooms have high-speed Wi-Fi and air-conditioners. EE department has a lot of research labs too.
Faculty: The student-to-faculty ratio is 1:10. The EE department has the highest number of faculty members in the institute and the most funded for research and innovation. Almost all professors in EE, have done their master's or PhD from the USA. The course curriculum is revised periodically, but even though there is a gap between academics and industry. Exams are tough and there is very high competition among students to get good grades.
Other: I have a great passion for the evolving field of the semiconductor industry. The freedom offered to students is comparable to other colleges. There is no entry or exit time for the hostel and for campus. Food courts and canteen are open almost 24x7. Every event, innovation club, placement, and campus welfare club is coordinated by a dedicated group of students who inculcate leadership skills.

NIRF 1 for a reason.
Placements: Nearly 70% of the students are placed. The highest package was 1.31 CpA. The average package offered is nearly 20 LPA. Bajaj Electronics, Samsung are some of the top recruiting companies. There is no actual data on how many students get internships, as mostly every student does internships after some time in their college period. Electrical design engineer, power systems engineer are the top roles offered.
Infrastructure: For the course depth, we have ESB, which has one of the best infrastructures overall and a really good studying atmosphere. We have ESB-2, which is better than ESB. The Wi-Fi speed is really high and good overall. The classrooms are neat and well-equipped to contain 80-100 students at a time. The institute library has every book a student needs.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are really helpful. They are qualified and very knowledgeable. They are mostly good at teaching, but some are really bad. The course curriculum is really flexible and teaches the student what they need to know about their subject. After that, it's all electives and stuff to learn and thrive. The semester exams are really easy if you study properly (not too much to stress about). Nothing like JEE. The pass percentage is relatively high.
Other: I wanted to do electrical engineering from my 10th. I don't know why my mind thought of it, but I just went with it. The best thing about it is that we are not exactly doing the typical electrical engineering, but a lot more than that. I feel like it's fine as it is. I don't know much about the course yet to fully give tips to improve this stuff. There is no lack of events; something will be happening as long as you are in the institute. Connectivity is a little hard for introverts like me, but overall, it's a huge campus, which makes it even more difficult, even for non-introverts.

IIT Madras is the best institute for researchers.
Placements: Very few people are not placed. Most of them get placed. There is a large alumni network at this institution. This year the highest salary package offered is 4.5 crore by institution. If students are well prepared for interviews definitely they get placed in a company with good packages.
Infrastructure: Hostels have LAN facilities but do not institute Wi-Fi. Everywhere except hostels have institute Wi-Fi. Best quality of food is provided by messes. There is one stadium named Watsa for those who are interested in sports. Some indoor games are available to students in hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified. IIT Madras curriculum is best. It makes students ready for industry. Semester exams are very easy if we just understand and analyse courses of that particular semester. There are some pass or fail courses.
Other: Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras has both electrical and electronic communications.

Review of IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: College helps with internships and placements. Almost 100% placements are offered. Current year, almost 95% of students are placed. But the core branch has low placements. We need more placement opportunities, such as an industry internship, etc. So we can get a better experience. The placement department is active all year for domestic and international companies. Basically, the placement department attracts big companies for visiting IITM.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good but Wi-Fi is slow. The college hostel is well connected with Wi-Fi. A wonderful class with well-furnished infrastructure. We have a gym room and boys and girls' common room in the college hostel. The difference between girls and boys is that boys hostels and girls hostels are separated by almost 1 kilometer. Hostel mess is different for north-state and south students because food types are different.
Faculty: Very experienced faculty. Almost all teachers have done Ph.D.s from abroad. And college staff is very good. They help us anytime we need, guide us and encourage us in academic fields, and guide us to a successive future. Exams are very tough because this is India's number one engineering college. Assignments are taken every week. But all students are hard workers, so all students passed .
Other: College connectivity is good.

Lucky to join here. Best environment to study with experience life.
Placements: This course is good, offering opportunities to shift to software roles as well as core fields. The average package offered is 10 LPA. Nearly 75% of students are placed, although the percentage might be higher. Maintaining a good CGPA ensures better placement opportunities.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi quality is good. The hostel provides adequate facilities with proper water supply and good food. The library has more than enough books to enhance knowledge. Labs are well-equipped, and students are provided with good sports facilities and encouragement to participate.
Faculty: Teachers are very good and supportive, encouraging students to study and explore opportunities. The course curriculum is relevant and helps students understand both the course and potential opportunities. The pass percentage varies depending on the difficulty of the paper and the professor's assessment.
Other: This is the best course in IITM. The flexibility to shift to software roles is a significant advantage. Events are organized regularly to encourage socializing among students. The campus is green, clean, and peaceful, offering a conducive environment for study. Students have the freedom to move out of campus and play at any time, with good sports equipment available.
