Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2025, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2025 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2025. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2025 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2025 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.

Candidates seeking admission to BS at IIT Kanpur must have a valid score in JEE Main, JEE Advanced and go through JoSAA counselling for final admission. Admission is completely entrance exam-based and candidates seeking admission can not get into IIT Kanpur with only the scores of JEE Main. JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling is the mandatory requirement. Additionally, to be eligible for the BSc programme, students are required to have passed their Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate with Science subjects (i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). 

The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is 238 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one can not afford to score less than this. The total fee ranges from INR 8 lakh. However, this fee is sourced from unofficial sources. Hence, is indicative. For the exact fee, students can reach out to the admission office. Not getting into IIT Kanpur or any other top IIT should not be considered an end to a student’s career. While IIT Kanpur average package is INR 18.14 LPA for its 2023 placements batch, can IIT Kanpur guarantee the same for each and every student of the batch? The answer is no. IIT Kanpur also accepts GATE exam scores for the admission to M.Tech courses. Candidates with 700 score can easily get admission to any course except Discontinued (Jul 2023)-M.Tech. in Microelectronics and VLSI at IIT Kanpur. The IIT Kanpur cutoff 2024 stood between 622 and 840 for the General AI category candidates. IIT Kanpur cutoff 2023 ranks for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kanpur other than General category are mentioned below:

While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE Advanced, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

IIT Kanpur MBA total tuition fee ranges between INR 2.8 Lacs and INR 13.1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee excludes admission fee, security deposits, semester fee and hostel charges. There is relaxation in fee for reserved category students. Candidates need to pay fee after completion of the selection rounds, to confirm their seat. 

Apart from the tuition fee, aspirants need to register with an application fee in the start of the admission process. The application fee is INR 1,600 for General/ OBC (NCL) candidates. The fee is low (INR 800) for SC/ ST/ DAP candidates. 

Yes, IIT Kanpur also offers an option of a dual degree, i.e., Bachelors-Masters Dual Degree to the students. A student earns both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at the end of this five-year course. The dual degree programme has three categories:

• Category A: In this case, both degrees are in the same discipline/department. Example: BTech-M Tech.
• Category B: This is a two-discipline/ department programme where the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is in a different discipline/ department. Thus, three combinations are possible in this category, ex: BTech-M Tech, BTech-MS and BTech-MDes. Students can choose any one of the aforementioned combinations. 
• Category C: In this case, the bachelor’s degree is in the parent discipline/ department and the master’s degree is MBA. Ex: BTech-MBA.

Admission to the BTech programme at IIT Kanpur is entrance exam-based, i.e., based on JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced scores. Candidates seeking admission to BTech can not get admission to IIT Kanpur with only the scores of JEE Main. JEE Advanced followed by JoSAA counselling is the final selection criteria followed by the institute. However, to be eligible for the BTech programme, students are required to have passed their Class 12 with at least 75% aggregate with Science subjects (i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). IIT Kanpur JAM Cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 2. The most competitive course was M.Sc in Statistics, with the Cutoff of 63. For the OBC AI category candidates, the Cutoff stood at 187, for M.Sc in Statistics.

If the Cutoff rank is more than 63, there is no scope of admission to IITs for M.Sc in Statistics.

For Computer Science and Engineering (General category), the cutoff has seen a fluctuating trend over the past three years. While in 2019, the closing cutoff rank of last round stood at 217, the closing rank for 2020 was a little less competitive (stood at 239).
