Q:   Question: How is the course curriculum for B.E. / B.Tech at Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering?

    A:
    {Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Course Curriculum at Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering

Based on the statements provided by students and alumni, the course curriculum at Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering is considered relevant to some extent. However, it lacks practical orientation and focuses more on theoretical knowledge. Here's a breakdown of the key points:

    * Relevance: Some students and alumni feel that the course curriculum is relevant to the industry, citing examples of courses like OOPs, SPA, and Data Structures being industry-oriented. [Student 15]
    * Theory-practical imbalance: Many students agree that the course curriculum is heavily focused on theoretical knowledge, with limited practical applications. [Students 14, 17, 23]
    * Industry readiness: While some students believe that the course curriculum prepares them for industry requirements, others feel that it falls short in making them industry-ready. [Students 11, 19]

It appears that the course curriculum could benefit from a greater emphasis on practical knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare students for the workforce.

Here are some bullet points summarizing the findings:

    * Relevant courses: Certain courses within the curriculum, such as OOPs, SPA, and Data Structures, are seen as industry-oriented.
    * Theory-practical imbalance: The curriculum is perceived as leaning towards theoretical knowledge over practical applications.
    * Industry readiness: Some students feel that the course curriculum adequately prepares them for industry requirements, while others express concerns about its effectiveness.

Overall, while the course curriculum shows promise, it requires further refinement to strike a better balance between theoretical and practical knowledge, ultimately preparing students for successful careers in the industry.

All About Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineering (Review by LTCE Student).
Placements: Currently, I am in the third year of Computer Science Engineering, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In my class, there are a total of 75 classmates, including me. From the 6th semester, companies will come for internship offers, but according to last year, the average package was 5 LPA, and the highest was 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are very good. Facilities like classrooms are very good, and every class has a projector. It has a huge library, free Wi-Fi with a speed of 200 Mbps. The college doesn't have any hostels, so students use PGs or take homes for rent.
Faculty: The faculty and the teachers are very well-educated, and the teachers are M.Tech graduates. Teachers are very helpful and very kind. They are always available to guide the students, whether the problem is academic or personal. Talking about exams, there are a total of 3 exams in one semester: 1) Mid-Sem, 2) Practical, and 3) End-Sem.
Other: One thing I love about the college is the fest. The fest is named Zephyr, and it happens in February every year. It lasts for a full week and includes several games, sports, hackathons, and DJ nights.

Overall, the college is very good. Provides good facilities, qualified faculty, etc.
Placements: Very good placement service. Everyone gets a good placement here. All the students are placed here. The highest is about 12 Lacs to 25-30 Lacs. All big unicorns such as Amazon, Tata Consultancy Services, and others come for placement here and hire a good amount of skilled students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good here. Wi-Fi is available for all the students. Classes are very good and spacious, with projectors equipped for enhanced learning. Faculty members here are very good, supportive, and highly qualified, which enhances your skills.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful indeed. All of them are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They teach very well and explain everything that is asked. All the notes are provided to students from time to time. The curriculum is based on Mumbai University.
Other: I selected this course as it is a trending one. The best thing about my course is that we get learning and knowledge about Computer Science as well as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The thing that I wish would be better about my course is that more practical knowledge is required than theoretical. There are various events that are held here.

Faculty: Some college professors has very talented in specific subjects. College curriculum set by Mumbai University and I am not satisfied with this syllabus. College has scheduled 2 UT Exam of 20- 20 marks and final has 80 marks. In final 32 is passing and UT exam taken the average of 2 exams and 8 is passing

Lokmanya Tilak College is value for money, and the campus is quite good for refreshment.
Placements: The highest salary package is 33 LPA, the average salary package at LTCE is 3 LPA. Most of the companies are highly valued worldwide. Opportunities for summer internships and industrial projects are provided to students. The placement cell organises various training programs, including mock aptitude tests, group discussions, personal interviews, and soft skills workshops.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good, and courses are well-moderated. This year, our college received an A+ grade and became autonomous. Classrooms are well-equipped with modern teaching aids. Facilities for basketball, badminton, football, table tennis, and carrom are available.
Faculty: Faculty members are strict but reasonable and respect the students. The curriculum at LTCE is designed based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and includes a holistic development approach. Final exams are conducted at the end of the academic program.

Satisfied because of faculties, good, infrastructure, resources, placement is average but good.
Placements: Web Developer, Full Stack Developer, and Android Developer are the common roles offered. The highest package offered was 30 LPA, and the lowest package was 4 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is above 90%. Top recruiters are Capgemini, Accenture, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Faculty members are supportive and highly educated. The labs have highly advanced systems and a good number of PCs, but no AC in labs and classrooms. The canteen's food is quite awesome, and it has space for sports. It's not too big, but it is considerable.
Faculty: Yes, the faculty members were qualified and are helpful if we are in need. The course curriculum is average, but it gives deep insight into the tech skills required. The semester exams were difficult until now because those were held by Mumbai University itself, but now from this year, the college has been declared autonomous, so hopefully, the difficulty level would be on a scale of average to easy.
Other: I'm in the second year, 2024 batch, and the things which could be better are limiting the number of writing assignments and experiments and instead focusing on the implementation of the concepts in the real world.

The sports complex is equipped with courts for basketball, badminton, tennis, and volleyball.
Faculty: Teachers in my course were highly qualified and knowledgeable. They were willing to help students both inside and outside the classroom. Their expertise in their respective fields greatly enhanced the learning experience. The course curriculum is designed to be highly relevant to current industry needs. It includes a mix of core subjects and electives that cover the latest trends and technologies.
Other: I chose the course because of its strong reputation for providing a comprehensive education in my field of interest.
