Short overview that every fresher should know.
Placements: If I talk about ITNS placements, every student is eligible for company's interviews and every company allows to sit for its interview. So there's no difference in terms of placements with higher branches. Also, the seniors are really helpful and you can reach out to them anytime.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is pretty average. Only APJ's lecture halls are well built with a strong Wi-Fi connection and ACs. About hostels, they are below average for boys. Girls hostels are way better. The mess is really ***. They cook good food less often.
Faculty: You have to study on your own in the end. There would be some professors who would be helpful and are concerned about students. Faculty qualifications are really good but some don't know how to teach. So you better study on your own. Moreover the timtable is pretty flexible.

Our college provides good placements and facilities.
Placements: NSIT is a well-known college for placements and other things. About 95% of students are placed in upper branches such as CS. The remaining go for other goals, such as startups and other competitive exams. Placements are excellent.
Infrastructure: In the first year, you will get advanced classrooms, which are called APJ lecture halls. After the first year, you will be shifted to blocks, which are just like your classrooms at school. Labs and the library are good, with proper infrastructure. The hostel is not as good as the hostel in IITs, but it's decent.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful, but some do not help you. The teaching quality is good. Some subjects are relevant, but some are not. In this college, you have to study to score a good GPA to get placements.
Other: IT department is the best department in our college with fewer burdens and easy subjects.

Our university is good with average placements record and awesome place to explore life.
Placements: An ample amount of placement opportunities is provided in the technical field for the interested students. Hardworking, enthusiastic, and passionate students get great placements.
Infrastructure: Campus infrastructure is good but there is huge scope for improvement. The Wi-Fi speed is good. Hostels are good but mess food is not good. Canteen food quality is up to the mark. Medical and sports facilities are top-notch. There is a gym, basketball, cricket, football, and volleyball grounds are huge. We spend time playing ping-pong and snooker.
Faculty: Few faculty members are top-notch while others are not up to mark. Students struggle with some faculty members in different semesters due to various reasons. Students can score well if they study with a proper plan.
Other: Fests are awesome in our college. Students will be satisfied with campus life. Coding culture is good and very few people are interested in research. Anything other than coding is difficult to find.

The college is good but it is strict. If you compare to DTU, if you want a enjoyable life go for dtu
Placements: It is observed that almost 90+% student gets placed. As I am not passed out yet. Top recruiting companies are Google, Facebook, goldmann sach, Uber many more. The job we get are data analyst, software engineering, app developer, web developer etc. I will say accordingly to the stats of college that minimum package of IT previous year was 3-4 lpa maximum was 58 lpa and average was 12-14 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facility and infrastructure are top notch. Nsut have many grounds and gymnasium and also have many labs to particular branches. I don't live in hostel but let me tell you your friends who are day scholar can't enter the hostel my friend who is day scholar try to go in his friends hostel room and he got fined for 18000. In this college, you will get high fines for small offence.
Faculty: Its the only problem in Nsut. Its course curriculum is too old. The teachers are too qualified. IIT alumni and studied from abroad. Semester exams are okay it is dependent on you. If you study from the start you will find the semester exams is and if you study on the previous day of exam you will obviously find it little hard. And all along mid seems exams are but hard compared to end semester exams.
Other: I choose this course because at my rank this is the best course I was offered. The fees is bit too much according to the facilities. We get a high fine if we do something illegal or do a punishable offence.

Good placement ,prestigious college ,good faculty , hostel is ok, campus and infrastructure is good
Placements: Almost all students get placed in technical branches like coe it. Top recruiting companies were Google, Microsoft, Goldman sach, Wells Fargo etc. 70-80% students get internship. Mainly companies for recruiting students in role like sde -1, web developer.
Infrastructure: Hostels are okay. One badminton court in the middle. Food is not very good. Different hostels for different years. Ramunjan hostel for 1st year and so on. New hostels are being made. Full week different menu in the mess. Many canteen are present in the hostel premises too.
Faculty: All the teachers are extremely qualified and knowledgeable. Some teachers are very understanding and good teaching skills and may not have. Curriculum is very relevant to industry but I think it should more as to make student for confident in his own capabilities.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I join NSIT directly?

A:

No, the institute does not offer any facility that offers direct admission to any of the courses offered at Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) (formerly known as Netaji Subhas Instiute of Technology). Students must fulfill the minimum eligibility for the course to which they are willing to take admission.

NSUT offers a wide range of UG, PG, and doctoral-level courses under numerous specialisations. Netaji Subhas Institute University of Technology (NSUT) course admissions are based on various national-level entrance examinations like JEE-Main, GATE, CAT, CUET, and many others. Students can visit the institute's official website to get information related to the required minimum eligibility.

Q:   Can I get B.Tech at NSIT with 75 percentile in JEE?

A:

Getting into NSIT's B.Tech programme with a just 75 percentile JEE Main score is extremely challenging.
Popular fields like electronics and computer Science typically have closing ranks for the General category that are less than 2000.
This usually means to a score above 200 or a 99+ percentile on the JEE Main.Even for the reserved categories (OBC, SC, and ST), the cutoffs fall below 10,000 and are in the range of 95+ percentile.
The NSIT computer Science JEE Main closing percentile in 2022 was:
SC - 98.23, ST - 96.32, General - 99.91, OBC - 99.21

Therefore, there is very little to no chance of getting into NSIT with a rank of less than 30,000 or a 75 percentile.
This percentile score means that the engineering colleges you could potentially attend are much less popular.

Q:   Does NSIT accept JEE score?

A:

Yes, NSIT accepts JEE scores for admission to the B.Tech courses.Candidates who qualify JEE Main 2023 are called for the JAC Delhi Counselling 2023. JAC Delhi Counseling has been held for up to five rounds till now.

Based on the previous year cutoff, the NSUT cutoff 2023 for BTech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence) closed at 3255, while in 2022 it closed at 3631, and in 2021 at 1300.  NSUT also offers admission to BTech courses through DASA UG. Students can check the official website for the latest updates on the JEE Main exam and also can visit Shiksha.com.

Q:   How are the placements at NSUT?

A:

More than 320 companies participated in the 2024 drive, mainly from the Tech sector. The highest number of offers was also made in the Tech sector. Check the complete insights of NSUT placements 2024 from the table below:

Q:   Which is a better college to pursue CSE, DTU or NSIT?

A:

Both DTU and NSUT accepts JEE Main scores, followed by JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to the BTech courses. As per the JEE Main 2024 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 5864 during the Round 4 Seat Allotment for the General AI category students. While for NSUT, the Round 4 closing rank stood at 6058. So, considering the cutoff, DTU is comparitely more tough to get into for CSE admission.

As per the NIRF 2023 rankings, DTU was ranked 29th and NSUT was ranked 60th position in the Engineering category. Candidates can refer to the table below to consider other aspects, such as the CSE course fee and the average package for both institutes, before making a decision.

CollegeCSE Total Tuition FeesMedian Package 2023
DTUINR 3.54 LakhINR 13 LPA
NSUTINR 3.54 LakhINR 16 LPA
