At PG level, NIT Jalandhar offers a two year M.Tech course. To be eligible for admission to this course, candidates must pass graduation with minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA with BE/BTech subject from a recognised university. NIT Jalandhar M.Tech admissions are entirely based on a valid GATE score. Candidates are selected as per their rank obtained in the entrance exam score and the final seat allotment is done through CCMT Counselling process. The first preference will be given to GATE rank holders. However,  if the seats remain vacant after admitting GATE qualified candidates, then the students will have to appear for a department-level entrance test to try their chance for admission.
