Brief review of NIT Jamshedpur, Depth. Of ECE.
Placements: Roughly 95% of students got placed and more than 20 students got summer internships. The highest salary package offered is 83 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. However, the base pay in 83 LPA is 23 LPA. There are plenty of companies offering more than 20 LPA in base pay to final-year students. The stipend for summer interns varies between Rs. 40,000 per month - Rs. 1,04,000 per month. But most of them got a stipend of Rs. 40,000 per month. Around 5-6 students got a stipend of above Rs. 1,00,000.
Infrastructure: We have air-conditioned labs with LAN ports available for every group of 5-6 students in those labs. The library is also air-conditioned, but the librarian sometimes won't turn on the air conditioner. She thinks that there is no need for it. The library is good for studying with good Wi-Fi connectivity. In hostels, we have a LAN port in every room. Only 75% of them are working. Its speed is 100 Mbps. The mess food is normal but we do get chicken 4 times a week and chicken biryani on Sunday afternoons. There are basketball or volleyball courts in every hostel. There is an institutional health center for medical facilities.
Faculty: The course curriculum gives a basic idea about every topic you should know about. If you're planning to go in core ECE, but of very little to no use if you're planning to go for Dev/SDE roles. We only have one course in the CSE department which I feel should be more. Semester exams vary from department to department. For ECE, it's a bit tough but one can score above 7.5 CGPA if he/she studies properly before exams. In each subject, more than 100 students pass out of 120 in the end-semester exams. Faculty members are well-qualified. All of them have Ph.D. degrees from IITs and are good in their respective subjects.

Excellent placement. 93.8% placement overall in the recession year 2024.
Placements: 1.94 percent of students were placed approximately every year. 2. 83 LPA is the highest package, the average is 16 LPA, and the lowest is 6 LPA. 3. Google, Flipkart, Tata, Amazon, e-kart, Akash, and many more are the top recruiters. 4. Internships are offered at Tata, Google, and other reputed companies, and approximately 80 percent of students get the opportunity of an internship.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is there, all labs are renovated, and centralized air conditioning is in the lecture hall and library. Food quality was great. The canteen is there, and there are very good medical facilities. Indoor sports are there, and all the grounds are but lack maintenance, and there are a lot of clubs.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and are helpful, but some of them are extra strict and some are friendly and supportive. The course is redesigned this year, so it is relevant. Yes, the institute provides internship opportunities, which make us industry-ready. Not that difficult, but exams are normal, and 35 percent is the minimum to pass, and 75% attendance is mandatory.
Other: I chose this course because of excellent placement, and the best thing about this course is that from it we can get placed in core as well as teach too. The course is good; no need for improvisation. Events take place regularly. Fests are there for technical, cultural and sports. Connectivity: 3 km away from the local railway station, 10 km away from the junction railway station, and 100 km away from the airport, i.e., in Ranchi, the campus is close from all sides except one. Scholarships and fee waivers are there.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the curriculum, only good placements in 2022.
Placements: In my course, 92% of students are placed. Top recruiting companies for my course are Analog Devices, Airtel, Oracle, NPCI, KPMG, and many others. Top roles offered are Chip Designing Engineer, VLSI Engineer, Verilog and VHDL Engineer, etc. The highest package was 65 LPA, the lowest was 7.68 LPA, and the average package is 15.65 LPA. Only 12% of students got internships at NPCI and Analog Devices.
Infrastructure: In the 1st year, hostel Wi-Fi is not available, but it is fully available in labs, classrooms, and the library. The conditions of these facilities are good. Hostel infrastructure is good; food in the mess and canteen is decent. Medical facilities and sports and games are also very good.
Faculty: The teachers are not very helpful, though they are very qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is very good. Like in every college, the course curriculum is not relevant and does not prepare students for the industry. The semester exams are difficult, and the passing percentage is above 95%.

Absolute placement guarantee.
Placements: The placement percentage is 90 to 100 percent for different branches. The highest package is 82 LPA CTC and the lowest is 5 LPA CTC; the average is 15 to 20 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Oracle, Atlassian, Amazon, Snapdragon, Adobe, etc. For the ECE core, we had the Steredian and Key slight instruments. 30 percent of students get internships. RTL engineering is the top role offered.
Infrastructure: The campus has first-class infrastructure ranging from full campus high-speed Wi-Fi to excellent hostels, nice mess, air-conditioned classrooms and library, and a nice canteen with delicious food. There is a folding area where we have Nescafe, juice plaza, Dosa hut, Continental, etc. All sports, medical and entertainment amenities are provided.
Faculty: The teachers' are very supportive and helpful in their roles. They are extremely qualified, having Masters and PhDs from well-reputed IITs and NITs. Teachers teach extremely well, and yes, the course curriculum is pretty relevant to the market scenarios and makes us ready to be well placed. Semester exams are pretty easy; you can pass them with an 8 CGPA easily .
Other: Here, the electronic communication branch is a very important branch. It has a special incubation lab from the centre, and it has also gotten special funding of one crore rupees from the Prime Minister initiative. Also, the college has to face an annual festival. There is a cultural fest and a technical fest. And we also have scholarships. And extracurricular activities like clubs and sports. The events engaged students regularly.

Review about NIT, Jamshedpur.
Placements: This NIT is one of the best and most popular among all NITs in the placement sector. Because you can find almost 95–100% placement in the placement sector. The average package is more than 15 LPA for the top branches and more than 10 LPA for the other branches. The highest package touches 80 LPA every year. You can also find good internships here.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is just okay but it is enough to survive here. Academic building is awesome. Wi-Fi is updated this year. Hostels are not as expected. Labs and lab equipment are in good condition. Mess is average but you need to adjust and almost this condition is in all NITs. Other buildings and the rest of the college are nothing.
Faculty: Almost all professors are experienced and skilled. They will help and guide you in any condition. But some professors are dangerous and they are not supposed to give you semester exam marks or a CGPA. The curriculum is well planned, which teaches you useful information.

Students also asked

Q:   Is M.Sc. at NIT Jamshedpur a good choice?

A:
{Source: M.Sc. students & alumni}

Here's a summary of the pros and cons of pursuing M.Sc. at NIT Jamshedpur:

Pros:

* Excellent faculty: Faculty members are helpful, and their teaching quality is good. Most professors hold a Post-Doc degree in their respective subjects and are well-qualified.
* Research-oriented curriculum: The course design focuses on preparing students for higher studies (Ph.D.) and research, making it ideal for those interested in pursuing advanced degrees.
* Good infrastructure: The campus offers modern facilities such as air-conditioned classrooms, libraries with Wi-Fi, and single-occupancy hostels with amenities like lifts, Wi-Fi, and furniture.
* Decent placements: Although the placement record might not be exceptional, students receive decent offers from companies like EdTech, Physics Wallah, and others, with average packages ranging from INR6-12 Lacs per annum.
* Festivals and extracurricular activities: The college hosts various festivals and has multiple societies for extracurricular activities, providing opportunities for students to develop their interests outside academics.

Cons:

* Limited industry connections: As mentioned by several students, the college receives mostly educational background companies, and industrial background companies rarely visit the campus.
* No placements in Chemistry department: Unfortunately, the college doesn't seem to focus on recruitment in the Chemistry department, resulting in limited placement opportunities for students in this field.
* High competition: With over 90% of students getting placed from the college, competition for limited slots can be intense.
* Average hostel food: Students reported that the hostel food was not great, especially for North Indians who had to adapt to the local cuisine.

In conclusion, while NIT Jamshedpur's M.Sc. programme has its strengths, such as excellent faculty and infrastructure, it may not be the best fit for everyone due to limitations in industry connections and placements. However, for those interested in pursuing higher studies or research, it could be a suitable option.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Your expected JEE Main AIR is about 26520. The last year closing rank in NIT Jamshedpur was 95375 in ECE under HS quota for asked category. Hence if this trends continue for this year also, than your chances for admission are very less.

Hello Benimadhav, Do you really want pursue engineering in spite of getting 80 out of 360 marks in JEE Mains? I would advise you to seek guidance from career counsellor. Commerce and humanities too are good choices.

Hello Abhishek, If you want to seek admission in most sought after branch then definitely you have to score big. But, it's always good to have big aims. I think, percentile of 60-70 should be good.
