NIT Patna admission procedure vary from one course to another. Some of the basic rounds included for all the courses are online registration, selection rounds, release of cutoff/merit list, followed by counselling and seat allotment. Step 1: NIT Patna Application Process 

Candidates seeking admission have to apply for the respective accepted exam through the conducting body official website. The application process is online for all the programmes. For some courses like PhD, aspirants need to visit NIT Patna official website to apply.

Step 2: Entrance Exam

NIT Patna accept national-level exam such as JEE Main, GATE, IIT JAM for admission to BTech, MTech, and MSc, respectively. Only aspirants with valid score in the accepted exam become eligible for admission.

Step 3: Release of Cutoff list & Counselling

A course-wise merit list is released to indicate the minimum marks required for admission. Candidates shortlisted based on exam score further have to participate in the respective counselling process such as JoSAA for BTech, CCMT for MTech, and CCMN for MSc. 

Step 4: Admission Confirmation

No, admission at National Institute of Technology Patna to a BTech programme is done only on the basis of merit in JEE Main. The seat allotment process is carried out through JoSAA counselling.
