B.E. in Mechatronics Engineering - Batch of 2026

It is an excellent college.
Placements: In our college, almost 75% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 35 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2.5 LPA and the average salary package offered is 5.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Amazon, Infosys, TVS, Microchip, etc., visit our campus. Around 21% of students get internships at Cognizant and Zoho.
Infrastructure: Our college is old. Wi-Fi is available. Labs are well-equipped. Our college is well-known in South India for having a well-equipped laboratory. Classrooms are average, but there are projectors for PPT presentations. A central library is available. Many books are available in the library. You can borrow books for two weeks and then return them.
Faculty: Our college has experienced faculty members. Most of them are Ph.D. holders. Our teachers are friendly. The HOD is taking classes this semester. They speak to us in a friendly manner. Lab technicians are from the core industry, so they have enough knowledge about machines. The course curriculum is relevant. Exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: The best thing about our course in our college is that our college is the first to launch mechatronics in India. We have access to work in all labs in the college, but our course now only changes as per the regulation of 2022. Our college organises many events and sports. The campus crowd is not good.

Placements from our college depends upon your skills which you developed within 4 years of college.
Placements: Placements in our college are good, and are mostly based on IT companies. For core placement, you should have great knowledge in core subjects and practicals. If you have these things you can also get placed in top companies It is better if you also have studied more things based on your area of interest it will help you.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of TCE is the best. Students are given hands on training in well-equipped labs. Hostel facilities are provided. For mechatronics engineering, students can go for other department labs including mechaical and EEE .
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are helpful and the course curriculum is based on present industrial trends. You will also have a chance to interact with some staffs. Students can also take part in other self interest groups in the college which will help them to gain more practical knowledge in their field of interest.
Other: You will enjoy your life in the college and outer world if you slightly pay attention not only to the college curriculum but also learning other important things which are helpful in future.

Absolutely the best college in Madurai.
Placements: I'm not sure about the packages offered but most of the students have got internship from this course. I came to know that mechatronics engineers can be placed respectively to their skill, and companies like yaskawa are recruiting mechatronics engineers.
Infrastructure: College Wi-Fi is available for students purpose with well maintained lab and a peaceful environment. College library has a lot of books for studies and even personality development which enhances students to read. Then there are lot of sports to play here mainly for hostellers.
Faculty: Teachers here are experienced and knowledgeable and can clarify our doubts when needed. Teaching quality is good as the syllabus are taught like how it is taught in the school. This college is special to make every student acquire the skill of entrepreneur.

Good placements in 2017, good hostel infrastructure, canteen and facilities. Not so good faculty
Placements: The placements for our senior batch are pretty good. As mechatronics is a new course in Tamil Nadu as well as India, not many colleges are offering this course. Only a few colleges offer this course, so the placements are nearly equal to other departments like mechanical and electrical engineering. The percent of students placed is nearly 35 to 40 percent. I say that this is a very good percent because the others have not been selected due to their mistakes like arrear history. Nowadays, there are many numbers of students studying engineering so you must clear certain basic steps like clearing without arrears, then you will be eligible in all the companies which come to our college. The highest salary they get is 12 lakhs package whereas the lowest is around two lakhs per year. The companies visiting our college are pretty good companies like Amazon, Titan, Hyundai, Microchip, Embedded Ur, Infosys, Accenture, TCS, CTS, Infotech, Zoho and much more but majorly, IT-based companies visit. This is not the mistake of college or course it is due to our country where there is no availability of any other companies of core based companies, you must go for abroad then you will surely succeed in your dream. The students go for internships on their own interest, if you want to go you can go and college will give you full support. The stipend is not offering for any undergraduate courses in our college they give some financial help if needed by verifying the economic background of the individual person.
Infrastructure: The facilities here are very good especially Wi-Fi, it has a very high speed and available all around the college and also available in the hostel. Classrooms are available with a projecting system for presenting some PPTs, etc. in every classroom. Medical facilities are available during college hours and it is free of cost. But in the hostel, the medical facility is not good. Sports are very good in our college majority all sports are available and many are going to zonal, inter-zonal and state level competitions. Labs are the most important thing to discuss. Labs here are the oldest and well-equipped with all types of equipment and proper incharges. There are creating new labs for mechatronics, modern instruments are going to come in not more than few days. The food here is only vegetarian. If you want non-veg or your favourite food, you can visit hotels nearby and Madurai is famous for food available 24/7. Hostel rooms are very good to enjoy not strict like other colleges, you can use your gadgets and you can go out and come anytime, it is very good for those who planned to enjoy with their friends and also good for studying. They provide computer facilities with internet and also snacks and foods are available at night store. There is no infrastructure types of issues faced, if any you face you can complain to supervisor there will fix it immediately.
Faculty: The experience with faculty members is good. There are very interactive and friendly but the major drawback is the lack of experience. Because they are also new to the course, they need some time. Their knowledge is not so good. But you can do some hard work with them and can obtain more knowledge you want surely they will help us. The teaching method is basic board teaching and projectors method. Some teachers give some projects to apply our knowledge and it will be very useful. The ratio of student to faculty is very low, only around 15 teachers but that is enough for 70 students per batch. To tell the truth, we did not get industries exposure but college will provide some opportunities like allowing industrial visits per semester and it will be useful. The course curriculum is very useful but the main drawback is that all this is going to use in the company you are going to get placed in. You should do your pg in abroad where more opportunities are there. Here they provide proper guidance for studies abroad and also special coaching classes for GATE, GRE, CAT and also language classes for German and Hindi. I learned German because it is the main thing to enter Germany.
Other: This college is very good college and one of the best in Tamil Nadu. Opportunities are given by college only thing you want to do is to grab it. The cultural and dance competitions are not so good, if you are concentrating in these do not choose this college, if you are going to choose for studies, this is good. The students here come here with more knowledge who are attaining more marks during school days, therefore the circumference is good to study. Several functions and workshops are also conducted which are more interesting and you can enjoy it. They are also some special clubs for our various interests and you can participate in them. NSS and NCC are one of the best in our college.

The college provides many experienced staff members, good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 60 students in our course got placed. The maximum salary package offered is 3 LPA, and the minimum salary package offered is 1.5 LPA. Top companies visited our campus for placements. About 2 students got an internship in Japan.
Infrastructure: In our department, the college provides many facilities. Wi-Fi facility is available. Labs, like physics, chemistry, English, etc., are available for students. I am a day scholar, so I don't know about hostel facilities. The quality food served in mess and canteen. Sports and games are available for students
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality was good. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. If we get a good percentage of marks in academics, then the college provides job opportunities abroad.
Other: I have chosen this course because I want to become a mechatronics engineer and I am interested in robotics. It will help us in future, and there are more job opportunities abroad.

A:

Thiagarajar College of Engineering mainly has B.Tech programs, not B.Sc. For B.Tech, whether you can get in depends on your cutoff score, which can change each year because of competition. So, if your score is close to the cutoff, you might get in. But for B.Sc, you should check with the college to see if they offer those programs and what you need to get in.
