The vastness of the syllabus can put you under stress but a smartly planned preparation schedule can help you attain success. All you need to do is focus on specific content based on higher weightage and thoroughly go through the previous years’ question papers.
SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) is conducted by SRM University for students seeking admission in BTech and other engineering courses. The duration of the exam might be just 150 minutes, but the preparation has to begin well in advance.

Timely preparation for any entrance examination is always the most appropriate and preferred approach. However, if you miss the opportunity to plan ahead for the examination preparation, you can still consider preparing during the last month before the examination. In my experience, there have been a couple of entrance examinations where I prepared only in the last month, but the results were favourable only because of the fact that I focused on a structured and smart way of preparing myself for the examination. However, the vastness of the SRMJEEE 2021 syllabus can put you under stress, yet a smartly planned preparation schedule can help you attain success. All you need to do is focus on specific content based on higher weightage and thoroughly go through the previous years' question papers. Going by self-experience, special attention towards the NCERT syllabus of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology is very important to build on the basics.
SRMJEE Study Material
Preparing for the SRMJEEE entrance examination in the last month before the scheduled date is not an easy task. So one must be much focussed on the content which needs to be prepared thoroughly. You must have a clear understanding of the topics that need significant preparation and topics that you can run through once revising the important sections of the chapter. For the last-month preparation, one needs to be smart enough to prepare the vast syllabus and still score well.
Few books that I recommend for exam preparation apart from NCERT books are
Physics:
- The Concept of Physics, Part 1 & 2 by H C Verma
- Understanding Physics by DC Pandey
Chemistry:
- Modern Approach to Chemical Calculations by RC Mukherjee
Mathematics:
- Cengage Maths by G Tiwani
- Mathematics for Class 12 by RD Sharma
Biology:
- TRUEMAN’S Elementary Biology for Class 12 by K N Bhatia, M P Tyagi
- A text for Biology Class 12 by H N Srivasatava, P S Dhami G Chopra
Apart from these textbooks, you can go through the previous years’ question papers of SRMJEEE and the latest sample papers as well. Post preparation you can check your subject knowledge through the various mock tests which are available online. Continuous practice and making your own notes can actually help you understand better and give better clarity of the concepts and resolve your doubts. Also, since you are left with just a month before examinations, preparing notes can help you prepare the gist of each topic and that becomes your ready reckoner for quick revision. Please check for the questions which have been frequently repeated in the last 3 years.
SRMJEE Examination Structure
The aspirants for BTech courses will have to attempt Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English and Aptitude section while the Bio-Tech Engineering candidates have to prepare Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and Aptitude questions. The examination is based on the online mode with multiple choice objective questions.

SRMJEE Points to Remember
- Identify the topics with maximum weightage

- Practice sample papers and take mock tests
- Identify high scoring topics and allot preparation time accordingly
- Prepare your notes to practice for last-minute revision
- Set a target for completing the topics on a daily basis
- Spend at least an hour to revise the topics covered every day
SRMJEE Self-Evaluation
Since we have only a month for preparation we won’t have sufficient time to study each and every topic thoroughly. As you will already be short of time, I would suggest to follow the key points which is a quick fix study-cum-revision plan and I am sure things will get in place and you will be able to crack the entrance examination. By following these steps you will be able to boost up your confidence and attempt the examination with a positive frame of mind.
