Candidates can check the list of qualifying exams for Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE). Applicants appearing for VIT exam, must have either completed or shall be appearing in any of the following qualifying exam -
- The final exam of 10+2, conducted by any recognised central/state board, such as CBSE, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT that is equivalent to 10+2 exam.
- Intermediate or two-year pre- university examination conducted by the recognised board/university.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) - London/Sri Lanka/Cambridge at the Advanced (A) Level.
- High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK for PCM at following levels -

Qualifying Exams List for VITEEE for candidates who have completed their class 12th outside India
For candidates who have completed their class 12th outside India must produce an equivalent certificate stating that they have passed their 12th class exam with a grade/CGPA converted to CGPA.

Eligibility Requirements for Qualifying Examination for VITEEE 2026
In correspondence with qualifying exams for VITEEE, candidates must be qualified for admission to collegiate education.
- Students must have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in maths, physics, and chemistry and with not less than 50% marks in maths in the qualifying exam (+2/HSC/Intermediate)
- Students must have passed with a minimum of 60% marks in biology, physics, and chemistry and with not less than 50% marks in biology in the qualifying exam (+2/HSC/Intermediate)
- Candidates must have passed with 50% in physics, chemistry, mathematics/biology in the qualifying examination (+2/HSC/Intermediate) for the following categories -
- SC/ST category
- Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh and the Northeastern states - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Such candidates must submit their community/nativity certificate at the time of counselling.

However, with negative marking introduced this year and time-constraints, the question solving mainly depends on accuracy. As per exam pattern, candidates need to solve 125 questions in 150 minutes.

No, slot booking once done cannot be changed under any circumstances. The VITEEE slot booking 2026 follows the first-come-first-serve rule, therefore candidates who book their exam slot fast will be allotted their desired test date and time.
