FAQs regarding NIT ECE Cutoff: JoSAA Opening & Closing Rank

Q. Which NIT is the best to pursue BTech in ECE?

A. As per the last year’s cutoff, NIT Tiruchirappalli is the best to pursue BTech in ECE.  It is followed by NIT Surathkal, Warangal and Calicut.

Q. Which is better EEE or ECE?

A. EEE is the study of electronics and electrical while ECE is the study of electronics and some parts of communications. In core companies, the demand for EEE is more in comparison to ECE. However, overall, the requirement of ECE is much higher as graduates in this stream are required by almost every industry.

Q. What is the job scope for ECE graduates in top MNCs like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.?

A. ECE graduates have a good scope of getting a job in MNCs.  These graduates can develop excellent object-oriented programming skills with some unique ideas to get a job in a top MNC.

Q. How good is the future of ECE graduates?

Q:   Can I get NIT with 87 percentile in JEE Main?

A:
No, you cannot get a seat in NIT with the 87 percentile, especially for popular branches such as Computer Science, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering. Candidates need to score more than 95 percentile to get into an NIT. However, it's important to note that cutoffs can vary depending on several factors, such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of applicants, and the availability of seats.

Q:   Can I get NIT with 95 percentile in JEE Main?

A:

It is possible for you to secure a seat in an NIT (National Institute of Technology), although it may not guarantee your preferred branch or institute. If your percentile is above 96, your chances of getting into a respectable NIT increases, but you may need to compromise on your branch selection. However, if you aim for a decent NIT with a preferred branch in the core field, you would need to score above 97.5%. On the other hand, if your goal is to get admission to a top college with the CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) branch, your score would need to be higher than 99.4%.

A. Electronics & Communication Engineering is one of the most popular engineering streams nowadays and the trend is likely to continue due to the growing need for effective communication. It is expected that the ECE will eventually emerge as one of the most prominent fields of engineering studies in the coming years.

Q. Which sector is best for ECE graduates?

A. The majority of ECE graduates are consumed by the communication industry across the globe. Other than that, there is also a good demand for these professionals in sectors like Networking and Analog & Digital Electronics.

To get a government engineering college in Punjab through JoSAA, aim for a JEE Mains rank within 10,000–30,000 for top colleges like PEC and NIT Jalandhar. Rankings of 70,000 or higher may be adequate for state quotas or lower-tier universities, depending on the branch and category.
