GATE 2024 counselling: The Tentative Seat Vacancy for the National Spot Round for CCMT Counselling (Phase III) has been released. The deadline for CCMT online document verification by the Allotted Institute authorities was August 9, 2024. The last date to physically report to the allotted institute was August 12, 2024. GATE counselling is conducted through two types of processes: COAP and CCMT. GATE counselling through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) is conducted for admission to IITs. On the other hand, CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech) is conducted for admission to top tech institutions other than IITs, such as NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.

COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal): COAP counselling 2024 was conducted from 13 May to 09 July 2024. A total of 10 rounds of counselling and seat allotment take place to offer admission to all participating IITs. COAP is conducted for admission to MTech courses offered by IITs. IISc Bangalore announced the COAP 2024 counselling schedule after announcing the results. Candidates can check the detailed schedule below for all rounds of COAP 2024.

CCMT (Centralised Counselling for MTech): CCMT counselling 2024 (Phase II) started on 12 July 2024. CCMT counselling 2024 registrations for Phase III took place from August 3, 2024, to August 5, 2024. The final (National Spot Round) seat allotment offers were displayed on 6 August 2024, and the last date to upload the documents was August 8, 2024. CCMT is for admission to MTech programs offered by NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, and CFTIs. State and private universities conducted their counselling based on GATE results. COAP is not an application portal for MTech admission at IITs.

Along with the online registration on COAP’s website, candidates must complete the online registration process for the respective institute based on their preference and rank in the exam. GATE does not organise any counselling and seat allotment process for MTech admissions. After the GATE 2024 result declaration, participating institutes will release their admission cut-off. Candidates qualifying GATE cutoff can participate in the counselling process conducted by respective bodies based on their college choice and branch of study.
