JEE Advanced 2025 cutoff: Check the JEE Advanced previous year cutoff on this page. Q: Â What is the minimum score or rank required in JEE Advanced to get into a good IIT?
The definition of godd IIT can be relatable. The candidates who wish to get admisison to the first generation of the IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Roorkee must have a high score of 250+ marks out of 360 marks. However, this is not applicable for all courses offered by these IITs. Every course and IIT has different demand and seat ratio which effects the admission of the cabdidates. It is a very relatable thing. A good score in JEE Advanced will depend on various factors one of them being the cutoff. Further, the cutoff will depend on various factors like the difficulty level, paper pattern, number of seats in the IITs, number of candidtaes taking the exam and so on. Therefore, it is difficult to say what will be a safe score. However, 300+ is a safe score in JEE Advanced if the total marks in the paper is 360.
JEE Advanced 2024 cutoff has been the highest in the past 6 year. This year the cutoff marks has been 109 marks for the Common rank list (CRL) out of 360 marks. For the GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL rank list the cutoff marks is 98; for SC/ST/Common-PwD/GEN-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD is 54 marks and for Preparatory course rank lists it is 27 marks.

The JEE Advanced 2024 cutoff of the common rank list is 30.34%; 27.30% for the GEN-EWS rank list and OBC-NCL rank list; 15.17% for SC, ST, and PwD rank lists across all categories; and 7.58% for Preparatory course rank lists. Last year the cutoff for inclusion in the CRL was 23.89%; 21.50% for GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL rank list; 11.95% for SC, ST and PWD rank list across categories; and 5.98% for the preparatory course rank lists.
All those candidates who have score above the cutoff marks in their respective category can register for JoSAA counselling for participating in the IIT seat allotment process. Note that qualifying the JEE Advaced cutoff will not guarantee seat in the IITs. various factos are there in play while alloting seats in the IITs. These factors include demand of a course and IIT, number of seats on offer, reservation criteria etc.

There are two types of Joint Entrance Examination Advanced cutoffs - qualifying and admission cutoffs. The qualifying cutoff is relesaed with the result. Last year, the cutoff marks has been 109 marks for the Common rank list (CRL) out of 360 marks. For the GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL rank list the cutoff marks is 98; for SC/ST/Common-PwD/GEN-EWS-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD/SC-PwD/ST-PwD is 54 marks and for Preparatory course rank lists it is 27 marks. The admission cutoff will be released by during the seat allotment process by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The admisison cutoff is released round wise in the form of closing ranks for all courses and categories.

JEE Advanced 2025 result will be out on June 2, 2025. Candidates can check and download the JEE Advanced 2025 scorecard under their respective login on jeeadv. ac. in. To Download JEE Advanced 2025 scorecard, candidates have to use 7-digit roll number, date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, and the 10-digit phone number that they used while registering for JEE (Advanced). Also, category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the JEE Advanced 2025 online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers. Only those candidates who will secure minimum marks in JEE Advanced 2025, as prescribed by the IITs will be included in the AIR list for JoSAA counselling and IIT admissions. Allotment of seats will be solely based on the category-wise All India Rank in the JEE Advanced 2025.
