Q:   How are the scores of IBPS Clerk calculated?

A:

The scores of IBPS Clerk are calculated based on the number of correct answers after deducting the penalty for wrong answers. For wrong answers, 0.25 marks assigned to that question are deducted as a penalty to arrive at the corrected scores. There are no qualifying marks in the exam. Candidates are required to secure the sectional and overall cut off marks to qualify the exam. Candidates qualifying the prelims exam are called for the Mains exam. The final selection of the candidates is done based on the marks obtained in the Mains exam. Normalisation of marks is done to arrive at the corrected score. The normalisation of scores is done to adjust the difficulty level of question papers across various sessions.

A:

The public sector banks in India offer lucrative salaries to Clerical cadre posts along with various perks, incentives and benefits. Therefore, the in-hand salary of an IBPS Clerk may range between INR 28,000 to 30,000 per month. The following allowances are offered to IBPS Clerk: Dearness Allowance: This component is 4 per cent of the Basic Pay. DA depends on the CPI and is revised after every three months. House Rent Allowance: The HRA is dependent on the location of the posting. It is 8.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for Metro Cities, 7.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for cities having a population of more than 5 Lacs, and 6.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for other cities. Travel Allowance: The official tours and travels will be reimbursed by the bank. Medical Allowance: For IBPS Clerks, the amount is fixed at INR 2000. Medical allowance is provided once in a year. Special Allowance: For IBPS Clerk this amount is fixed at INR 4118.
