IBPS Clerk Exam Date 2024 (Out): Prelims Exam Timing, Schedule & Duration

IBPS Clerk Notification 2025 will be released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) in July, 2025. The notification will bereleased to select candidates for the post of Clerks in 11 participating banks. The selection process of IBPS Clerk comprises prelims and Mains exams. The final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. IBPS Clerk 2025 Application Form will be released in July 2025. Candidates can fill out the IBPS Clerk application form by registering on the official website. Any graduate candidate can apply for IBPS Clerk exam. The application process comprises several stages such as registration, uploading the scanned photograph and signature, filling the detailed application form, previewing the application, uploading the left thumb impression and handwritten declaration. The application fees for the exam are INR 850 for General and OBC candidates and INR 175 for SC/ST/PWD categories.

IBPS Clerk 2024 exam dates were announced through IBPS calendar. IBPS Clerk prelims exam is being conducted on August 24, 25 and 31, 2024. The Mains exam will be conducted on October 13, 2024. The prelims exam of IBPS Clerk is conducted for all the registered candidates. IBPS Clerk prelims exam is divided into three sections-Reasoning, Quant and English. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The duration of the test is 60 minutes. IBPS Clerk admit card 2024 for prelims exam was released on August 13, 2024. The prelims admit card was released for all registered candidates. The admit card can be downloaded online only by logging with registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. The hard copy of the admit card is not sent to candidates by post. IBPS Clerk admit card is an important document without which candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates need to carry one photo-identity proof along with the admit card.

The educational qualification for IBPS Clerk is Graduation. Final year candidates are not allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates must have an operating and working knowledge of computers. They must have either a Certificate/Diploma/Degree in computer operations/Language or have studied Computer/Information Technology as one of the subjects in the High School/College/Institute. Candidates must have proficiency in the Official Language of the State/ UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/ UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply for is preferable. Candidates must meet the educational qualification fixed by the examination authority for appearing in the exam.

The public sector banks in India offer lucrative salaries to Clerical cadre posts along with various perks, incentives and benefits. Therefore, the in-hand salary of an IBPS Clerk may range between INR 28,000 to 30,000 per month. The following allowances are offered to IBPS Clerk: Dearness Allowance: This component is 4 per cent of the Basic Pay. DA depends on the CPI and is revised after every three months. House Rent Allowance: The HRA is dependent on the location of the posting. It is 8.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for Metro Cities, 7.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for cities having a population of more than 5 Lacs, and 6.5 per cent of the Basic Pay for other cities. Travel Allowance: The official tours and travels will be reimbursed by the bank. Medical Allowance: For IBPS Clerks, the amount is fixed at INR 2000. Medical allowance is provided once in a year. Final-year students cannot apply for the IBPS Clerk Exam. The prelims exam of IBPS Clerk is conducted in four shifts: 9 am to 10 am, 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, 2 pm to 3 pm, and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The reporting times are mentioned on the admit card. Candidates are required to reach the exam centres as per the reporting times. IBPS Clerk Mains exam is conducted in one shifts depending upon the number of candidates.
