RBI Assistant Vacancy 2024: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will announce RBI Assistant vacancies 2024 along with the notification. The vacancies are announced category-wise and state-wise. In 2023, a total of 450 vacancies were announced for RBI Assistant exam. The highest number of vacancies were announced for Mumbai. A total of 101 vacancies were announced for this region. The total number of vacancies announced for SC were 45, ST were 56, OBC were 71, EWS were 37 and General were 241. A:
A total of 950 vacancies were announced for RBI Assistant recruitment exam in 2022. Out of the total vacancies, 440 were for General category, 146 were for OBC, 151 were for SC and 123 for ST. The RBI assistants have the opportunity to get promoted to the post of manager in their careers. The following is the career path of an RBI assistant: 1. You join as an assistant in a particular regional office of the RBI. 2. You will have to serve a minimum of two years' service. 3. After two years of service, RBI assistants get multiple opportunities to get promoted to the officer level. 4. Normally, after a certain year of service, you can appear in the written test, and based on seniority, you can be promoted to the officer scale. 5. Other than that, RBI assistants may apply for merit-based promotions if they are graduates and have completed the JAIIB and CAIIB diplomas. 6. After five years of service, an RBI Assistant can be promoted to the rank of assistant manager based on qualification. 7. Afterwards, they can be promoted to the rank of Manager Grade B. 8. Mostly RBI Assistant can reach up to the post of Senior Manager Grade C.

The selection process includes preliminary and Mains exams followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The prelims exam is divided into three sections English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The total duration of the preliminary exam is 60 minutes. The Mains exam carries questions from Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness and Test of Computer Knowledge. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The marks of the Mains exam are taken into consideration for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains exam are called for LPT. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. The prelims exam serves as a screening test for the mains exam.

Q:   What is the pay scale of RBI Assistant?

A:

The initial basic pay of RBI Assistant is INR 20,700 per month (as per revised salary) with a pay scale of INR 20700-1200 (3)-24300-1440 (4) – 30060-1920 (6)-41580-2080 (2)-45740-2370 (3)-52850-2850-55700 (20 years). The revised gross salary of an RBI Assistant is INR 45,050 per month including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance etc. In case, the employees are not staying the apartments, they will be paid with House Allowance of 15 per cent of Pay additional. An amount of INR 3575 is deducted from the net gross pay of an RBI Assistant. Candidates are given reimbursement of expenses for maintenance of vehicle for official purpose, Newspapers, Briefcase, Book Grant, Allowance for furnishing of residence, etc. as per eligibility, Dispensary facility besides reimbursement of medical expenses for OPD treatment or hospitalization as per eligibility, Interest-free Festival Advance, Leave Fare Concession, Loan and Advance at concession rates of interest for Housing, Car, Education, Consumer Articles, Personal Computer, etc. It will be available to regular employees who will put in at least two years of service. The recruits will be governed by the Define Contribution New Pension Scheme, in addition to the benefit of Gratuity.

RBI Assistant Selection Process

The selection process of RBI Assistant includes prelims and mains exams. Candidates shortlisted from mains exam will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT).
