RRB ALP exam dates 2024: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) revised RRB Technician 2024 exam dates. RRB Technician 2024 CBT 1 exam has been extended by a day. The exam will now conclude on December 30, 2024. Earlier, it was scheduled to conclude on December 29. According to the revised dates, the exam is being conducted on December 19, 20, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30, 2024. RRB ALP admit card 2024 has been released. 

Earlier, RRB ALP answer key 2024 for CBT 1 was released. Candidates could raise objections against RRB ALP answer key 2024 till December 10, 2024. RRB ALP 2024 exam was conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024.

Q:   When RRB ALP CBT 1 2024 exam was conducted?

A:

The RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam was conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024 for ALP posts. The exam for Technician posts will be conducted from December 19 , 20, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 30, 2024. The structure of the exam pattern is given below.

Q:   What is the RRB ALP application fees?

A:

RRB ALP application fee is INR 500 for General and OBC categories while it is INR 250 for SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically backward class. The application fee will be refunded to candidates after appearing in the first stage CBT. Candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories will get a partial refund of the application fee while SC/ST/Ex-Serviceman/ Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically backward class will get a full refund of the application form

A:

RRBs re-opened the window to fill RRB ALP application Form 2024 for Technician posts on October 2, 2024. The application form filling process re-opened since the Railway Boards have increased the number of vacancies and added new categories. The already registered candidates can change their option of RRB along with the preference for Zonal Railway(s)/PUs and for all applicable Technician Gr. III category posts.

Q:   When RRB ALP notification 2024 was released?

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released a short notification for RRB ALP 2024 recruitment. The detailed notification was released on January 20, 2024. A total of 5696 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment process. The exam is conducted for candidates in the age group of 18 to 30 years and who have completed Class 10/SSLC. The recruitment is done for the post of Assistant Loco Pilots and Technicians. This year, the age limit for ALP post has been revised. Earlier, the age limit for ALP was 18 to 28 years. The revised age limit is 18 to 30 years.

The important events related to RRB ALP exam are explained below:

Release of Notification: RRBs published RRB ALP and Technician notification on its official website in PDF form.  RRB ALP notification carried information related to the exam.

Application form: RRB invited online applications as per vacancy for its 21 zones. Candidates could fill RRB ALP Application Form online from their respective zones. 

RRB ALP exam: RRB ALP selection process comprises two stages (first stage CBT and second stage CBT) which is common for ALP and Technician. In addition, candidates who opt for ALP and qualify the CBT 2, are required to undergo Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT). Based on the performance of candidates in Part A of the CBT 2  subject to their qualifying the Part B (For Technician posts), they are called for document verification. For ALP post, candidates are called for document verification based on Part A of CBT 2 and CBAT subject to qualifying Part B.

Q:   What is RRB ALP marking scheme?

A:

CBT 1 will have 75 questions for 75 marks and the duration granted to resolve the questions is 60 minutes. 1/3rd ? marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 1. The CBT 2 will have two parts- Part A and B for 175 marks. 1/3rd? marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 2. The marks of candidates are calculated based on the correct and incorrect answers. Normalisation of marks is done to calculate the scores of candidates.

Q:   Is CBAT mandatory for all posts in RRB ALP?

A:

In RRB ALP & Technician exam, only those who have applied for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and cleared second stage of, need to appear for CBAT. CBAT is for the candidates who have applied for technician post only. Candidates equal to eight times the number of ALP vacancies are called for CBAT based on the performance in Part A of second stage CBT, subject to qualifying the Part B. Candidates are required to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT. The questions in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP,  70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.
