RRB ALP Syllabus for Part B

Part B is qualifying in nature and comprises a syllabus relevant to the trade as prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualifications are required to appear in the section having questions about the relevant trade. Candidates holding Degrees, Diplomas, and Classes and are eligible for the various posts of ALP, need to select relevant trades from the list prescribed by RRBs against their Engineering discipline/Class 12. Candidates need to secure a minimum of 42 marks in each of the five test batteries. The CBAT comprises questions and answer options in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT.

Part B

The exam duration of Part B is 60 minutes. A total of 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

RRB ALP Exam Pattern for CBAT

Candidates equal to eight times the number of ALP vacancies are called for CBAT based on the performance in Part A of second stage CBT, subject to qualifying the Part B. Candidates are required to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT. The questions in CBAT are in English and Hindi only. There is no negative marking in CBAT. To draw the merit list of ALP, 70 per cent weightage is given to Part A of second stage CBT and 30 per cent in CBAT.

Part A

Part A of CBT 2 comprises 100 objective-type questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, Basic Science and Engineering and General Awareness on Current Affairs. The duration of the test is 90 minutes. 

Part B

Part B of RRB ALP is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). The duration of the test is 60 minutes. Total 75 questions are asked in the exam. This part is qualifying in nature and comprises questions from the trade syllabus prescribed  by the Director General of Employment & Training (DGET).

A:

CBT 1 will have 75 questions for 75 marks and the duration granted to resolve the questions is 60 minutes. 1/3rd ? marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 1. The CBT 2 will have two parts- Part A and B for 175 marks. 1/3rd? marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 2. The marks of candidates are calculated based on the correct and incorrect answers. Normalisation of marks is done to calculate the scores of candidates.
