RRB Group D Application Form 2024 (Jan 23): How to Apply Online

RRB Group D application form 2024 will be released on January 23, 2025 by the Railway Recruitment Boards. RRB Group D application form should be filled online only. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250. Candidates can pay the fee both online and offline. Candidates are not required to sent the hard copy of the application form.

RRB Group D application form is released for the post of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical and S&T departments), Pointsman and other Level-I posts. The selection process comprises CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. Interested candidates need to apply online for the exam. The application fee can be paid both online and offline. Candidates are not required to send the hard copy of the application form. Candidates should not submit multiple applications for RRB Group D exams. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.

RRB NTPC application form 2024 can be filled online only. There is no facility to fill the application form offline. The application process comprises several steps which candidates need to complete successfully. Candidates are advised to submit only one application. Submission of multiple applications can lead to rejection of application form.

To check the application status, candidates are required to login with user ID and password. The application status of candidates displays whether their applications are accepted or rejected for the recruitment exam. Candidates whose applications are accepted by the examination authority are issued admit card. Before applying for RRB Group D exam, candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfill all the eligibility norms including age, educational qualification(s) and medical standards. Candidates should ensure that they have requisite qualifications from recognized Board/Institute as on the date of  closure of online registration. Those awaiting results of the final examination for the prescribed qualification are not eligible and hence should not apply.

For the RRB Group D exam, the age of candidates should be between 18 and 33 years. Candidates must have completed Class 10 from an Institution recognised by NCVT/SCVT or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT to apply for the exam. The prescribed medical standards for the exam is given below.

The application fees for RRB Group D exam are INR 500 for all candidates except the fee concession categories. For PwBD/Female/Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/Economically Backward Class, the application fees are INR 250. The application fee can be paid online and offline. On appearing in CBT, candidates belonging to reserved categories are given full refund of application fee. Those belonging to unreserved categories are given partial refund of application fee. RRB Group D application fee can be paid online using Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/UPI. The application fee can be paid offline by using SBI Challan or post office challan.

The modification link to upload the photograph and signature is activated after the completion of application process. RRBs activate the modification link for candidates whose applications are rejected due to invalid photographs and signatures. Such candidates are given chance to re-upload their photographs and signatures as per the specified dimension and specification. The steps to edit the RRB Grouo D application form are given below: 

• Login using registration number and password
• Pay modification fee through any of the modes available for actual examination fee payment
• Ensure payment is done well within the date and time prescribed
• Click on the ‘Modify Application’ Button
• Proceed with the changes intended as per instructions given and submit the application
• Preserve the print out of latest application for record

The specifications for uploading documents in RRB Group D application form are given below:

• Candidate photograph should be in JPEG image of size 20 to 50KB
• Candidate signature should be in JPEG image of size 10 to 40KB
• SC/ST Certificate (Only for candidates seeking Free Travel Pass) should be in JPEG image of size 50 to 100KB
• Scribe photo (wherever applicable) should be in JPEG image of size 20 to 50KB

Candidates who appear in the CBT exam are refunded their application fees. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories will be entitled to get a full refund of their examination fees, which is INR 250. Whereas candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, which is INR 400 after deducting the bank charges. To get the refund of application fee, candidates need to update their bank accounts. While, filling the application form candidates need to provide the details of their bank accounts inorder to get the fee refund.

Yes, candidates can change their states in the RRB Group D exam. This can be done by first choosing 'Application Modification' which is available in the home page of the registration portal. After candidates have chosen the preferred state, they need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 100 for modifying the application. Once candidates have successfully paid the application fee they can make the necessary changes and then submit it. Please note that candidates will not be able to edit your registration number, email id, mobile number, and your zone. Candidates are required to fill the application form online. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.

RRB Group D modification window is made available after the closure of the application process. To modify the details related to railway, email, and mobile number can be done by paying the modification fee of INR 100. The modification fee is applicable to all candidates including fee concession categories and this is not refundable. In the case candidates are modifying their communities from SC/ST to UR or OBC, they need to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. INR 250 in addition to the modification fee. In case candidates are switching from Ex.SM/PwBD/Female/Transgender to UR/OBC (NCL)/Non Ex.SM/Non PwBD/Male etc., they need to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. INR 250 in addition to the modification fee. The modification can be done for a maximum of two times only.

Empanelling of candidates in RRB Group D exam is done based on their performance in CBT, subject to their qualifying in PET. The appointment is offered to selected candidates provided they qualify the requisite medical fitness test and document verification. In case two or more candidates secure the same marks, their merit position is determined by the age criteria. The letter of appointment is issued by the Railway Administrations. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. It may also be noted that all candidates successful in DV are sent for Medical Examination. Clearing of such Medical Examination by additional candidates (those called for DV beyond the notified number of vacancies) will give such candidates no right to be considered for appointment. Candidates may note that RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

As per the minimum academic qualification, candidates who wish to apply for the RRB Group D exam must have qualified 10+2 while the age limit required for the exam is 18 to 30 years. Candidates must adhere to the eligibility criteria prescribed for the exam. Candidates not following the eligibility criteria are rejected from the recruitment process.
