RRB Group D 2025: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) will close the window to fill RRB Group D application form on February 22, 2025. Candidates must hurry up and apply for the RRB Group D 2025 exam. RRB Group D eligibility criteria were revised in terms of educational qualification and age limit. The new age limit is 18 to 36 years. Candidates must have passed Class 10th or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. The fee for RRB Group D application form 2025 can be paid online only. RRB Group D notification was released in PDF form to fill up a total of 32,438 vacancies.

RRB Group D 2025 exam is conducted this year. RRB Group D notification 2025 has been released. The selection process comprises CBT, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification, and Medical Examination. The recruitment is conducted to select candidates for the various posts in Level-1 of the seventh CPC pay matrix such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Mechanical, and S&T departments), Assistant Pointsman, and many more. 

Q:   When will RRB Group D application form 2025 be released?

A:

RRB Group D application form 2025 was released on January 23, 2025 by the Railway Recruitment Boards. RRB Group D application form should be filled online only. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250. Candidates can pay the fee both online and offline. Candidates are not required to sent the hard copy of the application form.

Q:   What is the educational qualification required for RRB Group D exam?

A:

For the RRB Group D exam, the age of candidates should be between 18 and 36 years. Candidates must have completed Class 10 or ITI or equivalent or NCVT/SCVT or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT to apply for the exam. Q:   My age is 36 years. Can I prepare for Railways Group D?

A:
You are not eligible to apply for the upcoming RRB Group D exam cycle. This is due to the age criteria of the RRB for the Group D exam. The age limit for the Indian Railways Group D exam is 33 years. The educational requirement states that applicants must hold a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) or have completed the equivalent of grade 10 or higher. However, if you belong to a category like OBC, SC, ST, or PwBD, you may get some age relaxations of up to 5 years. In that case, you can prepare for the Group D exam.

Q:   What is RRB Group D negative marking?

A:

There is a negative marking in the RRB Group D exam. 1/3 of marks are deducted for wrong answers. Candidates for correct answers are awarded one mark. The total marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers. RRB Group D marking scheme is given below.

Q:   In how many languages RRB Group D question paper will be framed?

A:

The question paper of RRB Group D CBT is formulated in 15 languages Hindi English Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipur, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. The RRB paper, or Railway Recruitment Board paper, can be in various languages depending on the region or the specific examination. However, the majority of RRB papers are in the official language of the state in which the examination is taking place. For example, if the examination is taking place in Tamil Nadu, the paper is likely to be in Tamil. Likewise, if the exam is taking place in Kolkata, the language of the question paper will be in Bengali. Candidates can opt to choose the exam language while filling the application form.

Q:   Can I apply for the RRB Group D exam? I have -3.5 sight.

A:
You can follow the given below RRB Group D Eye standards :- Near vision: Sn/ 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for color vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc. Distant vision: 6 / 9, 6 / 9 with or without glasses (power of lenses should not exceed 2D). You may be eligible for B-2 or C-2 category.

Q:   Which details can be edited in RRB Group D application form?

A:
Candidates are allowed to modify all details except the chosen railway, email ID, and mobile number even after the submission of RRB Group D application form by paying the modification fee. Correction in data other than the railway, email and mobile number can be done by paying the modification fee of INR 100. The modification fee is applicable to all candidates including fee concession categories and this fee is not refundable for any category. To modify the community (SC/ST to your or OBC), candidates are required to pay INR 250 in addition of modification fee. The steps towards modifying the application form are given below: After final submission of RRB Group D application, in case the candidates wish to make minor changes to correct inadvertent errors in the application, the correction of data other than Railway, email and mobile number can be done by paying the modification fee of INR 100 (Non-Refundable) The modification fee shall be applicable to all candidates including fee concession categories and this fee is not refundable for any category. In the case of a candidate modifying his community from SC/ST to UR or OBC, he will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. INR 250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, the modified application will not be accepted Similarly, if a candidate is switching from Ex.SM/PwBD/Female/Transgender to UR/OBC(NCL)/Non Ex.SM/Non PwBD/Male etc., they will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e. INR 250 in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, the modified application will not be accepted The modification to the registration and application details can be done for maximum two times only

Q:   How much application fees is refunded for RRB Group D exam?

A:

Candidates who appear in the CBT exam are refunded their application fees. Candidates belonging to SC / ST/ ExSM/ PwBD/ Female/ Minority/EBC/Transgender categories will be entitled to get a full refund of their examination fees, which is INR 250. Whereas candidates belonging to General/EWS/OBC categories receive a partial refund of their examination fees, which is INR 400 after deducting the bank charges. To get the refund of application fee, candidates need to update their bank accounts. While, filling the application form candidates need to provide the details of their bank accounts inorder to get the fee refund.

Q:   What is the medical test in the RRB Group D exam?

A:
After document verification in RRB Group D exam, candidates are called for a medical test. It is mandatory to clear the medical test to be considered for the recruitment exam. The medical fitness test is conducted by the railway administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post. The near vision should be Sn/ 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for color vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc. Distant vision should be 6 / 9, 6 / 9 with or without glasses (power of lenses should not exceed 2D).

Q:   What is RRB Group D selection process?

A:
RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

Q:   What is the standard of the RRB Group D syllabus?

A:

The standard of the RRB Group D syllabus is of the Class 10 level. Therefore, candidates can refer to their high school books for clearing the basic concepts. The questions asked in the exam are basic and candidates can solve them easily if they have practiced the previous years' question papers. Candidates must also solve the mock tests to know how to attempt an online test. RRB Group D syllabus is given below.

Q:   Is there any qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam?

A:

Yes, there are qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam. The qualifying marks for your and EWS categories are 40 and 30 for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, and ST. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 per cent for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them. Besides the cut off marks, candidates are required to secure the qualifying as per their categories to qualify the exam. For each correct answer in RRB Group D exam, candidates score one mark. 1/3 marks are deducted for wrong answers. The category-wise RRB Group D qualifying marks is given below.

Important Notice for CCAAs

The notice states that CCAAs of any trade trained in Railway Establishments can apply. CCAAs who have done training in Railway Establishments and have
National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT only are eligible. CCAAs having certificates issued by the Board/ Institute/Organization other than NCVT are not eligible. CCAAs trained in Railway Establishments, who have completed their training and possess National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC)
granted by NCVT should carefully fill the duration of training, certificate details, and marks in the online application. The candidates who have appeared in the NCVT examinations before the last date of online application result for which is not declared should fill date of last examination in the online application

RRB Group D Exam Pattern for PET/PST

The PET/PST is conducted for candidates who qualify the CBT exam. The exam pattern is given below.
