RRB Group D salary ranges between 3 to 5 lakh per annum as per 7th pay commission. RRB Group D is a central government job under the Ministry of Railways. RRB Group D Selection Process

The selection process of  RRB Group D is explained below:

Computer Based Test

The CBT is conducted for 90 minutes and comprises sections such as General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness and Current Affairs. The total marks for the test are 100.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The PET is conducted for the selected candidates for CBT. Candidates three times the number of vacancies are called for PET.

Document Verification

Based on the performance in CBT and PET, candidates 1.05 times the number of vacancies are called for document verification.

Medical Examination

Selected candidates will have to undergo a medical examination. A letter of appointment is offered to candidates who are found medically fit.

Q:   What is RRB Group D selection process?

A:
RRB Group D selection process comprises CBT, PET/PST, document verification and medical exam. The transgender candidates are given relaxation in the PET. CCAAs trained in railway establishment are given due weightage of marks obtained in their NCVT exam in preparation of final merit list after the conduct of CBT. Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PER, candidates are called for document verification as per their merit and options. In case of two or more candidates secure same marks, their merit position is determined by age criteria i.e., older person is placed at higher merit and in case age is same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name is taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. All candidates clearing the DV are called for medical exam. RRBs/RRCs only recommend names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered only by the respective Railway Administrations.

Q:   Can I change my state in the RRB group D form?

A:

Yes, candidates can change their states in the RRB Group D exam. This can be done by first choosing 'Application Modification' which is available in the home page of the registration portal. After candidates have chosen the preferred state, they need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 100 for modifying the application. Once candidates have successfully paid the application fee they can make the necessary changes and then submit it. Please note that candidates will not be able to edit your registration number, email id, mobile number, and your zone. Candidates are required to fill the application form online. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.

The recruitment of RRB Group D includes various technical and non-technical posts. The job profiles differ as per the hierarchy level of different railway departments. Yes, candidates can change their states in the RRB Group D exam. This can be done by first choosing 'Application Modification' which is available in the home page of the registration portal. After candidates have chosen the preferred state, they need to pay a non-refundable fee of INR 100 for modifying the application. Once candidates have successfully paid the application fee they can make the necessary changes and then submit it. Please note that candidates will not be able to edit your registration number, email id, mobile number, and your zone. Candidates are required to fill the application form online. The application fee is INR 500 (for all candidates except the fee concession categories). The fee for PwBD/Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen/SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class is INR 250.

Q:   What is the medical test in the RRB Group D exam?

A:
After document verification in RRB Group D exam, candidates are called for a medical test. It is mandatory to clear the medical test to be considered for the recruitment exam. The medical fitness test is conducted by the railway administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post. The near vision should be Sn/ 0.6, 0.6 without glasses and must pass tests for color vision, binocular vision, night vision, mesopic vision, etc. Distant vision should be 6 / 9, 6 / 9 with or without glasses (power of lenses should not exceed 2D).

Yes, there are qualifying marks in RRB Group D exam. The qualifying marks for your and EWS categories are 40 and 30 for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, and ST. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2 per cent for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them. Besides the cut off marks, candidates are required to secure the qualifying as per their categories to qualify the exam. For each correct answer in RRB Group D exam, candidates score one mark. 1/3 marks are deducted for wrong answers. The category-wise RRB Group D qualifying marks is given below.
