  • Senior Secondary with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

OR

  • Senior Secondary with at least 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for SC/ ST/OBC/ Differently-abled candidates) and pass in 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to DElEd/ DEd course before the issue of guidelines (23-Dec-2015)

OR

  • Graduation with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Bachelor of Education (Special Education)

TSTET Eligibility Criteria for Paper 2 (Classes 6 to 8)

Candidates applying for Paper 2 should fulfil either of the criteria mentioned below to meet the TS TET eligibility criteria.

  • BA/BSc/BCom with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Bachelor of Education (BEd Special Education)

OR

  • BA/BSc/BCom with at least 50 per cent marks (40 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and pass in Bachelor of Education (BEd)/ Bachelor of Education (BEd Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or admitted to BEd prior to the issue of guidelines (23-Dec-2015)

OR

  • 4-year BAEd/ BScEd with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates)

OR

  • For Language Teachers, Graduation with the language concerned as one of the optional subjects OR Bachelor of Oriental language OR Graduation in literature OR Post Graduation in Language concerned and Language Pandit Training Certificate/ BEd with language concerned as one of the Methodologies

OR

  • BE/ BTech with at least 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Differently abled candidates) and passed or appearing in Bachelor of Education (BEd) or BEd (Special Education)

TSTET 2024 Eligibility: Other Conditions

  • There is no age limit to apply for the TSTET 2024 exam
  • Candidates appearing for the final year of BEd exams/Diploma in Elementary Education are also eligible to apply for TSTET 2024
  • A diploma/degree course of a candidate in teacher education should be recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). However, for candidates possessing a diploma in education (special education) and BEd (special education), the course should be recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only
  • Intermediate qualification of the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) of Telangana or its equivalent as recognized by BIE Telangana State only will be considered
  • Number of Attempts: There is no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take to acquire a TSTET certificate. The official website states, “A person who has qualified in the TSTET examination may also appear again for improving his/her score” 

TSTET 2024 Exam Exemption 

The upper primary teacher and primary teacher who has been appointed by the local authority or government by NCTE are exempted from TSTET 2024 exam. Candidates who are not appointed by the government or any authority must have to take the TSTET 2024 exam. Candidates who are employed in private schools will have to take the TSTET 2024 exam.

1. Eligibility Criteria:
  - For Paper-I (Primary Level): Candidates should have completed or should be appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  - For Paper-II (Upper Primary Level): Candidates should have completed or should be appearing in the final year of a Bachelor's degree in any discipline along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or a Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) or 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

2. Qualifying Marks: Candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks to pass the TSTET exam. The qualifying marks are as follows:
  - General Category: 60% marks (90 marks out of 150)
  - BC Category: 50% marks (75 marks out of 150)
  - SC/ST/Differently Abled Category: 40% marks (60 marks out of 150)
