Are you attempting NMAT 2024 exam? Shiksha has listed some dos and don’ts for NMAT 2024.

NMAT 2022 Exam Day Guidelines

NMAT 2024 Exam Day Checklist

NMAT 2024 exam is being conducted in a Computer-based Test (CBT) mode until December 20. For the test day, candidates need to follow a certain NMAT exam day checklist without any fail. In this list, carrying the NMAT admit card tops the list. At the same time, certain regulations have been given for the candidates who would be taking the test from home. There are several important points that hold equal importance in ensuring that NMAT test takers have a hassle-free experience on the exam day.

NMAT 2024 Exam Day Guideline-Dos

  1. NMAT 2024 Admit Card: After successfully registering for the test, candidates can download the NMAT 2024 admit card from the official website. They have to check details such as registration number, name, time of the test, venue details of the test centre and other information mentioned on the NMAT 2024 admit card and if they are error-free. It is important because, on the test day, even a slight error in the admit card can lead to a huge problem. In case of error, test takers should ensure to resolve them beforehand. Keep the NMAT Admit Card in the bag a night before the exam day to avoid the last-minute rush.
  1. Documents for Photo Identification: On the test day, NMAT-takers have to carry documents that contain signature and photograph in semblance with the photograph and signature affixed in the NMAT Admit Card. One should not carry photo identity proof, which does not contain candidates' signature in it. One may think of carrying Aadhaar Card and Voter ID card on the test day. One needs to rethink it, as both of these authorized Photo IDs do not contain the candidate’s signature. Thus, candidates must carry PAN Card and either Aadhaar Card or Voter Card on the exam day.
  2. Check Test Centre Location Beforehand: Before starting for the exam venue, test takers should check the test centre location on Google Maps. This not only helps one to estimate the time from residence to test centre but at the same time, know the status of traffic en route.
  3. Avoid Carrying Electronic Gadgets: Candidates should not carry any electronic gadgets like Calculator, Fitbits, Smartwatches, smartphones, Blutooth devices to the exam centre. In case one carries it out of a sheer mistake, it will be confiscated right at the entry point of the exam hall.
  4. Check the Seating Arrangement: Before entering the exam hall, candidates should check the seating arrangement and the computer allotted against one’s roll number. There should not be any scribble on the NMAT 2024 Admit Card. The invigilators can question such an act. One can even ask for the attendance sheet to mark their attendance right before the start of the exam.
  5. Keep Personal Belongings Inside Locker: Candidates have to store their bags, mobile phones or other personal belongings at the designated locker at the test centre.

Following all the above-mentioned instructions will help candidates cut down the downtimes and remain calm. On the test day, test takers need to have a focused mind in order to comprehend questions and answer them using an appropriate analogy.

NMAT Exam Day Checklist- Don’ts

  1. Do not Sign on the Admit Card Before Entering the Centre: Candidates must ensure that the NMAT 2024 admit card free from any scribbling. They should not sign on the admit card with a pen. Digital signature affixed to the hall ticket is enough proof of evidence that it is issued against an applicant’s name.
  2. Avoid Unfair Practices: Test takers must refrain from asking any question to any fellow candidates giving NMAT test inside the exam centre. In case of any doubt, they should raise your hand and ask the exam invigilator to clear your doubts. They should not immediately start answering the questions, once the computer is allotted and wait for the invigilators to complete explaining the entire proceedings of the exam.
  3. Do Not Carry Rough Sheets Inside Exam Centre: The exam authorities will provide rough sheets to the candidates once the test begins, which the candidates must submit upon completing the exam before leaving the examination hall.
  4. Candidate Acquaintances not Allowed Inside the Centre: Candidates' parents, guardians or friends will not be allowed to enter inside the exam centre. Anyone accompanying the candidates must maintain a safe distance from other candidates and leave once the candidates go inside the centre.

NMAT Exam Day Guidelines: Documents to Carry

Candidates need to carry the following documents of the exam day:

  • Confirmation email: Candidates can carry a hard copy or show the confirmation email on the mobile
  • NMAT admit card: Candidates must download a fresh copy of their NMAT admit card for each attempt. A hard copy of the same is to be presented as and when asked by the GMAC officials.
  • Valid photo ID proof: One valid original and non-expired Photo ID (containing candidate's name and photo) must be presented. The valid documents to be carried at NMAT exam centre includes:
    • Passport issued by the Government of India
    • PAN Card issued by the Government of India
    • Voter's ID Card
    • UID/Aadhaar Card

NMAT 2024 Exam Day Guidelines: Post Check-In Instructions

As soon as the candidate is inside the exam hall, the invigilator will take the examinee to the allocated computer system.

  • Candidates will find a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) presented on the screen. To begin with the test, candidates need to accept the NDA by clicking 'Yes, I Accept'
  • In case the candidate selects 'No, I do not Accept', he.she will not be able to take the exam on that day. In such cases, candidates will lose the exam attempt and exam fee will be forfeited.
  • Candidates need to select a preferred section order before the test begins.
  • Candidates will have to complete answering questions in one section as per the sectional time limit.
  • The section responses will be submitted automatically after the time for each section expires.
  • Additionally, candidates can not change the order of sections once the test begins.
