TISSNET is one of the prestigious entrance exams for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The entrance exam will be held in Computer-based Test mode (CBT) at 40 exam cities (expected) across India. TISSNET registration will start tentatively in second week of December 2023. Candidates will be able to enter their prefered exam city while filling the application form. 

How to Select TISSNET Test City

To select the city of preference for allotment of the TISSNET 2024 test centre, follow the steps given below:

  • Register on TISS website and generate login credentials
  • Use the login id to fill the application form
  • TISSNET application form will have a section for selecting test city
  • Choose your preferred exam city
  • Fill up the rest of the fields
  • Make payment and submit

Q:   How can I change the TISSNET exam centre?

A:
Candidates filling the TISSNET application form must carefully enter the exam centre preferences. Candidates must note that the authorities does not activate the window for form correction. Only in case of genuine reasons, the plea to change the examination centre will be entertained. For the same, candidates should reach out to the examination authority or write to them at admission@tiss. Edu. Only registered candidates will be able to download the TISSNET 2024 admit card when released. Admit card will mention the candidate's and alloted exam centre. No request for change in the exam centre alloted will be entertained. On the basis of the preference added and availability, authorities will allot the exam centre. Hence, candidates are advised to check the exam centre preference entered before final submission of the TISSNET 2024 registration form.

Q:   What are the details entered in TISSNET application form?

TISSNET 2024 application form will be available in second week of December 2023. Candidates preparing for the TISSNET exam must fill the application form. Before filling the application form candidates must keep the prerequisite documents/information ready to avoid any last minute hassle. While filling the TISSNET application form, candidates will be required to enter the following details: 1. To create the login credentials at TISS website candidates will be required to enter the following details: Email ID From where did you get to know about TISS? Which device you use to search? Have you applied in TISS before? Enter captcha 2. Q:   How to get TISSNET hall ticket?

A:

TISSNET admit card is released soon after the registration process is over. Only candidates who will complete the TISSNET application form along with the payment of the application fee will be able to download the TISSNET hall ticket when released. The admit card is an important document that has to be carried on the day of the examination, without which candidates will not be permitted to enter the examination hall. To download the TISSNET admit card candidates must visit the official website of TISS and the banner will display the link to TISSNET Hall Ticket'. Candidates must then enter the login credentials to download the admit card. Screen will display the candidate's details and exam centre details where candidates have to report on the date of the examination. Candidates must check for the details mentioned on the TISSNET admit card. Q:   What is the TISSNET 2024 exam date?

TISS National Entrance Test TISSNET 2024 will be conducted tentatively in last week of February 2024. Candidates preparing for the TISSNET exam must ensure to fill the application form when released. Only candidates who will fill the complete application form along with the payment of the application fee will be able to appear for the TISSNET exam. TISSNET exam is conducted in offline mode across 40 exam cities in India. Candidates will be alloted the exam centre on the basis of the preferences added in the application form. On the release of the admit card, candidates can check the alloted exam centre. The exam will be conducted for a duration of 100 minutes (one hour 40 minutes). Candidates must attempt 100 multiple choice questions within the given time duration. Candidates will not be given extra time under any circumstances.

TISSNET Exam Centre: Dos & Don'ts

The test-takers will be required to undergo a verification process at the TISSNET exam centre. Candidates must ensure that they reach the exam centre well ahead of the reporting time so as to avoid any last-minute rush. Dos

  • Carry a hard copy of the TISSNET hall ticket and a photo-id to the exam centre
  • Carry a pen/pencil to the exam centre
  • Co-operate with the test centre staff during the verification process
  • Use the roll number printed on your admit card to locate your examination hall

Don'ts

  • Calculators, mobile phones, pagers or any other electronic items are prohibited inside the exam hall
  • Do not be late to the examination centre. Test centre gates will be closed 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam
  • Geometry/Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, and eatables are not allowed inside the examination hall

TISSNET Exam Centre: Important Instructions

  • Candidates must select the test cities carefully as the authorities will not accept any request to change unless given a genuine reason
  • The final allotted test centre will be mentioned in TISSNET admit card
  • TISS reserves the right to change or cancel any exam centre/city or change the time and date at their own discretion

Q:   What should I do if I cannot locate the TISSNET exam centre on the day of the test?

A:

If candidate is unable to locate the exam center on TISSNET exam day, he/she must try following the way to locate the exam centre and reach on time:

  1. Plan ahead Before the exam day. Candidates must locate the TISSNET exam centre using GPS and determine the best route and ETA.

  2. Leave for the alloted TISSNET exam centre early to tackle any difficulty faced on the route.

  3. If candidate is having trouble finding the TISSNET exam center, he/she must approach local residents in the vicinity.

  4. It's natural to feel stressed if candidate is running late or can't find the exam center. However, candidates must stay calm and composed. Stress can affect performance negatively.

Q:   What happens if I arrive late at TISSNET exam centre?

A:

If a candidate arrives late the TISSNET exam centre he/she will not be permitted to enter the examination hall. Candidate will not be allowed to take the examination under any circumstances. TISSNET 2024 exam will be conducted from 2 PM to 3.40 PM. Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre one hour prior to the given exam timing. The gates of the TISSNET exam centre will close at 1.45 PM. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall post 1.45 PM.

It is advised to adhere to the exam date and time, failing which applicants candidature will stand cancelled.

A:

If a candidate faces technical issue in the computer based test at TISSNET exam centre, he/she must immediately alert the exam invigilator. Candidates are advised to listern to the instructions provided by the instructor carefully. If the technical glitch persists invigilator or staff can help the candidates replace the system. In case of technical glitch at TISSNET exam centre, candidates will be extra time duration to cover up for the time loss.

Q:   What are the items that I can carry at TISSNET exam centre?

A:
Candidates who will be appearing for the TISSNET exam will be permitted to carry the following items at the exam centre- TISSNET hall ticket, photo ID card and a photograph Carry a pen/pencil since the COVID-19 outbreak candidates must also carry their own water bottle and sanitiser of 100 ml. Candidates must ensure that the water bottle and hand sanitiser bottle must be transparent. Other than the mentioned items no other items will be allowed inside the examination hall. Candidates will not be permitted to wear smart watches. There will be no provision for bag storage at the exam centre, hence candidates must ensure not to carry any valuable items inside their bags. The authorities at the TISSNET exam centre will not be responsible for any loss of items. Candidates are also not permitted to carry any electronic gadgets or rough sheets.
