NEET or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is the biggest medical entrance exam in India. Over 20 lakh medical aspirants are expected to appear for NEET 2024, scheduled for May 5. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET is the biggest medical entrance exam. While MBBS and BDS are the most popular choices of courses through NEET, there are several other medical and paramedical courses that are offered through NEET. From the year 2021 onwards, BSc Nursing admission at top colleges are conducted based on NEET scores. The duration of the above courses is 5.5 years. The duration of paramedical courses such as BPT or BSc Nursing is 4.5 years. All these course curricula include one year of compulsory internship.
In India, there are a total of 706 medical, 313 dental, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges which will accept NEET 2024 scores. There are a total of 20 AIIMS (functional) and two JIPMER campuses.
