Q: When was NEET 2024 conducted?
NEET 2024 was conducted on May 5, 2024, from 2 PM to 5.20 PM (IST). NTA conducted the exam in 571 cities across India and abroad. Around 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. The difficulty level of the exam was moderate to tough. NEET is a paper-pencil based test (PBT) consisting of a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Out of this, candidates had to attempt 180 questions. The total marks of the exam is 720.
Q: What is the date of NEET 2024?
NTA announced the NEET 2024 exam date on September 19, 2023. NEET 2024 exam was conducted on May 5. The result of NEET 2024 was declared on June 4, 2024. After the result declaration, several irregularities and anomalies were found in the result and the scoring system. Hence, NTA is reconducting NEET 2024 on June 23, 2024, for 1,563 candidates who were awarded grace marks. The result will be declared on June 30, 2024. The NEET 2024 counselling process for the 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats is likely to be conducted from July 6, 2024 onwards.
The NEET 2024 application process was conducted from February 9, 2024, to March 16, 2024. The last date of application was extended from March 9, by a week. The application and correction windows were reopened in April. While the NEET exam dates were scheduled in September and July a couple of years ago owing to the pandemic situation, it took a toll on the medical admission schedule. To bridge this gap, NTA conducted NEET in May last year. The trend is being continued for NEET 2024 as well.
Q: Has NTA removed any city from the NEET 2024 exam city list?
Yes, NTA removed three cities from the NEET 2024 exam city list in India. These three cities are Malegaon in Maharashtra, Rairangpur in Odisha and Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh. However, since other cities have also been added in these states, candidates will be able to select a nearby city as per their convenience. Since NTA limits the state and city choice as per the present address, applicants need not think for long to select the right exam city choices.

What is NEET City Intimation Slip?
NEET city intimation slip, or NEET city allotment slip is a document, which is released ahead of the NEET admit card, for candidates to know about the city where their NEET exam centre will be located. Since the NEET admit card is released three to four days before the exam, the advance city intimation slip for NEET 2024 will help candidates plan the exam day commute and other necessary arrangements well in advance.
Stating the difference between the NEET 2024 city allotment and admit card, NTA said, “The Candidates may please note that this is NOT the Admit Card for NEET. This is advance information for the allotment of the City where the Examination Centre will be located, to facilitate the candidates. The Admit Card of NEET shall be issued later.”
Q: How much time will I get to solve each section of NEET 2025?
Candidates will get 3 hours and 20 minutes to solve the entire question paper of NEET. They can divide the time between the NEET subjects or sections as per their convenience. There is no sectional time limit in the NEET exam pattern. According to the experts, candidates should keep around one hour for each subject and 20 minutes for revision. Candidates must prepare a fool proof time management strategy while taking mock tests. They must follow different approaches and then finalise on the most convenient one.
Q: Did NTA reconduct NEET 2024 exam?
As per the Supreme Court hearing dated June 13, 2024, the Centre said that the scores of 1,563 candidates who were given grace marks, are cancelled. They were given an option to reappear for the exam which was conducted on June 23, 2024. The result of this test willl be declared by June 30, 2024. The result for those candidates who will not be appearing for the re-NEET 2024, will be considered for that of the May 5 exam, devoid of grace marks.
The NEET 2024 exam was conducted by NTA on May 5, 2024 in 571 cities across India and abroad. Incidents of wrong question paper medium distribution, paper leaks and proxy exam takers were reported in the media after the conduct of the exam. As of now, as many as 13 people have been arrested in allegations of paper leak. This led to unrest among the students and stakeholders and they are demanding for a retest. Moreover, after the declaration of the result, several anomalies were observed which again led to unrest among candidates and a demand for reNEET 2024 resurfaced. NTA formed a Grievance Redressal Committee which reviewed the complaints submitted, and decided to reconduct the exam for 1,563 candidates.
Q: Will marks be deducted for unanswered questions in NEET 2025?
According to the NEET exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking. Moreover, candidates will not get any marks for attempting extra questions in the Section B. Also, candidates are advised to revise the NEET exam sheet or OMR sheet thoroughly before submitting it to the invigilators.
Q: What is the procedure to challenge NEET OMR sheets?
The responses marked on the OMR Sheet of NEET are scanned and uploaded on the official website of NTA. The responses marked are read and captured by the machines, which can sometimes lead to smudging of the responses. Therefore, there can be errors in the scanned copy of NEET OMR sheet. If a student finds any such error in their OMR sheet, they have the provision to challenge them. Candidates have to pay a processing fee of INR 200 per response challenged. FAQs Regarding NEET City Allotment Slip 2024

A: NTA released the NEET 2024 city intimation slip on April 24, 2024. The document has to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration credentials. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET 2024 exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET 2024 admit card.
Q: What is the purpose of releasing the NEET city allotment slip?
A: NTA releases the NEET city allotment slip with the purpose of keeping the candidates aware of the city where their exam centre will be located. Since the NEET admit card is released around three to four days before the exam date, it gets difficult for candidates to make the necessary travel or commute arrangements at the last moment. Hence, appraising the exam city in advance will be helpgul for NEET takers in terms of planning for travel or accommodation.
Q: What is the difference between the NEET city allotment slip and NEET admit card?
A: The NEET city allotment slip is not the same as the NEET admit card. While the NEET city intimation slip only informs candidates about the exam city and the state, the NEET admit card mentions the exact name and address of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Apart from this, the admit card of NEET also carries the exam day instructions and guidelines, and the Self Declaration Undertaking which must be filled and signed by candidates. The NEET admit card also carries fields for parents', candidates' and invigilators' signatures. While parents' signatures have to be made on the document in advance, candidates and invigilators have to sign during the exam. Last but not the least, the NEET admit card is the mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre, without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. On the other hand, it is not mandatory to carry the NEET city allotment slip to the exam centre or for further events such as counselling or institute reporting.

Q: Can I request to change my NEET exam city after receiving the NEET city slip?
A: No, once the NEET city slip is issued by NTA, it is not permitted to request for change in the exam city. NTA tries to allot the NEET exam city based on candidates' first preference. However, there may be situations where it is not possible to allot the preferred city. Hence, candidates have to make the necessary travel or accommodation arrangements accordingly, instead of approaching NTA to change the exam city.
