Q: What is the purpose of defining NEET PG Syllabus by NBE?
The pupose of defining NEET PG syllabus is just to make candidates know what all they ahve to study for the exam. Syllabus gives them overview of subjects and topics from which questions will be asked in NEET PG exam. The word to word syllabus is not declared for NEET PG by NBE, the exam conducting body. In the official information brochure, NBE says the syllabus will comprise of subject/knowledge area as per Graduate Medical Education Regulations.

Yes. According to the exam pattern, mark is deducted for each wrong answer in NEET PG exam. For each right answer, candidates get 4 marks and for each wrong answer, -1 mark is deducted. Lesser number of questions are asked from anatomy, physiology etc. Candidates must note weightage for NEET PG syllabus may vary. This is why, candidates are advised not to depend upon weightage and prepare all subjects of clinical, pre and para clinical well so that there is less scope of negative marking.

NEET PG 2025 may not happen as it will be replaced by NExT. AIIMS will release the official notification regarding NExT exam. Most probably the exit test will be implemented from August 2025 for 2020 batch MBBS students. The exam conducting body will clear air of doubts by October end most likley.
