IBPS RRB eligibility criteria 2024 was released by IBPS along with the notification. According to IBPS RRB eligibility criteria 2024, the minimum age limit of candidates is 18 years. IBPS RRB Eligibility 2024: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released IBPS RRB eligibility 2024. According to IBPS RRB eligibility criteria, any candidate who has completed their graduation can apply for the exam. Candidates are required to fulfil the eligibility criteria of IBPS RRB before applying to the exam. IBPS RRB exam is conducted to select candidates for the posts of Officers Scale 1, 2, 3 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose).

IBPS RRB Dates 2024  were announced by IBPS. The prelims exam will be conducted on August 3, 4, 10, 17 and 18, 2024. The single online exam for Officers Scale 2 and 3 will be conducted on September 29, 2024. The mains exam for IBPS RRB PO will be conducted on September 29, 2024. Q:   What is IBPS RRB eligibility criteria?

A:

IBPS RRB eligibility criteria is prescribed by the examination authority separately for different posts. The basic educational qualification for IBPS RRB exam is graduation. However, the educational qualification vary post-wise. The post-wise age limit for IBPS RRB exam is given below:

For Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager): Above 21 years-Below 40 years i.e. candidatesshould not have been born earlier than 03.06.1983 and later than 31.05.2002 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale- II (Manager): Above 21 years - Below 32 years i.e. candidatesshould not have been born earlier than 03.06.1991 and later than 31.05.2002 (both dates inclusive)
For Officer Scale- I (Assistant Manager): Above 18 years - Below 30 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1993 and later than 31.05.2005 (both dates inclusive)
For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Between 18 years and 28 years i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.06.1995 and later than 01.06.2005 (both dates inclusive)

The upper age limit is relaxed for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

The perks offered to IBPS RRB Officers are given below.

  • Travel Allowances: Candidates are offered travelling allowance or reimbursement of the money spent on petrol/diesel.
  • Leased Accommodation: Banks mostly provide their employees either a bank quarter to stay in or gives an option to lease a house for which the bank is accountable for providing the rent.
  • Medical Reimbursement: The banks also provide a fixed amount to their employees for medical treatment.

Q:   What is IBPS RRB age limit?

A:

IBPS RRB age limit for different posts is given below:

For Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager): Candidates must be above 21 years and below 40 years, i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than July 3rd 1981 and later than May 31st 2000 (both dates inclusive)

For Officer Scale-II (Manager): Candidates must be above 21 years  and below 32 years, i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than July 3rd 1989 and later than May 31st 2000 (both dates inclusive).

For Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager): The age of candidates should be above 18 years and below 30 years, i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than July 3rd 1991 and later than May 31st, 2003 (both dates inclusive).

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose): The age limit prescribed for this post is between 18 years and 28 years, i.e. candidates should not have been born earlier than July 2nd 1993 and later than July 1st, 2003 (both dates inclusive).

Q:   What are the criteria for shortlisting candidates for the interview?

A:

IBPS RRB exam is conducted to select candidates for the post of Officers Scale 1, 2 and 3, 2024. The interview is conducted for the post of Officers Scale 1, 2 and 3. The selection of candidates for the interview is done based on the performance in the mains. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted to select candidates for the interview. 

Q:   What is the nationality requirement for applying for IBPS RRB positions?

A:

The nationality prescribed for IBPS RRB exam is given below:

  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to settle in India permanently
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Q:   How many marks are required for RRB PO interview?

A:

For the IBPS RRB PO interview, a total of 100 marks are allotted. The weightage of the Online Examination to the Interview is 80:20, respectively. Candidates need to secure 40 per cent in the interview.  While for those belonging to ST/SC/OBC/PWD categories, the qualifying percentage is slightly lower at 35 per cent. The final selection of candidates is done based on the Mains exam and interview.

Q:   How many candidates register and apply for IBPS RRB exam?

A:

A total of 7.56 lakh candidates had registered for Office Assistant post, out of which 5.33 lakh candidates had appeared for the IBPS RRB exam. For Officers post, a total of 5.74 lakh candidates had applied for the IBPS RRB exam and 4.36 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam.

What is IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2024?

IBPS RRB eligibility is certain parameters in terms of age limit, educational qualification, nationality which candidates need to fufil inorder to be eligible for the exam. Candidates should meet these parameters or else their candidature will be cancelled for IBPS RRB recruitment. Candidates must indicate their age, educational qualification correctly in the IBPS RRB application form 2024 since it will be verified during document verification. 

IBPS RRB Eligibility 2024: Nationality

A citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or

  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

IBPS RRB Clerk Age Limit 2024 as on June 1, 2024

According to IBPS RRB Office Assistant Eligibility, candidates must be between 18 years and 28 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.06.1996 and
later than 01.06.2006 (both dates inclusive)

IBPS RRB Officer Scale I Age Limit as on June 1, 2024

Candidates should be above 18 years and below 30 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1994 and later than 31.05.2006 (both dates inclusive).

IBPS RRB Officer Scale-II (Manager) Age Limit as on June 1, 2024

Candidates should be above 21 years old and below 32 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1992 and later than 31.05.2003 (both dates inclusive)

IBPS RRB Officer Scale- III (Senior Manager) Age Limit 

Candidates should be above 21 years and below 40 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.06.1984 and later than 31.05.2003 (both dates inclusive)

In the case of Ex- servicemen commissioned officers, including ECOs/ SSCOs, who have rendered at least 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within the next one year from the last date for receipt of application) other than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment, subject to ceiling as per Government guidelines

IBPS RRB Guidelines Related to Age Relaxation 

Candidates can check below few important points related to IBPS RRB eligibility criteria 2022 in terms of age relaxation are given below:

  • The relaxation in the upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC candidates is allowed on a cumulative basis together with only one of the remaining categories for which age relaxation is permitted.
  • Candidates applying for the posts of Officers Scale I, II and II and seeking age relaxation are required to submit copies of necessary certificates at the time of interview. 
  • Candidates applying for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) are required to produce the certificates at the time of verification of documents on the day of joining. 
  • In case of candidates belonging to OBC category, the certificate should specifically mention that they do not belong to the creamy layer. Such candidates cannot avail of the relaxation and they must apply under General category. 
  • Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured employment under the Central Government in Group C and D will be permitted the benefit of age relaxation. However, such candidates will not be eligible for the benefit of reservation on the second occasion for Ex-Servicemen in Central Government jobs. 
  • Ex-Servicemen category will be ceased from candidates for employment on the civil side if they have previously availed the relaxation benefits in seeking employment in civil services before applying for the exam. 
  • Candidates who have previously served in the armed forces will be categorized as ex-servicemen. They can apply for re-employment one year before the completion of the specified terms of engagement and avail relaxations available to ex-servicemen. They will not be permitted to leave the uniform until they complete their tenure in Armed Forces Union.

IBPS RRB Office Assistant Qualification

RRB Office Assistant qualification is graduation in any discipline. Candidates can check below the IBPS RRB Office Assistant educational qualification:

  • Candidates must have completed graduation from a recognised university
  • Proficiency in the local language is compulsory
  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of computer

IBPS RRB Qualification for Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager)

  • Graduation from a recognised university
  • Preference will be given to candidates having a degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy
  • Proficiency in local language
  • Working knowledge of computer is necessary

IBPS RRB Educational Qualification for Officer Scale-II General Banking Officer (Manager)

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates having a degree in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • Candidates must have two years of experience as an officer in a bank or financial institution.

IBPS RRB Educational Qualification for Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager)

Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager)

Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 per cent in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

Minimum 5 years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions

Important points to note:

  • All the educational qualifications should be recognised and I have declared the result as on the date of application
  • Candidates must possess proper documents issued by the university mentioning that the result has been declared by them. In case the result has been declared online, a certificate duly signed by the authority must be provided at the time of the interview in the original
  • Candidates should indicate the percentage obtained in graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application

IBPS RRB Language Proficiency

For recruitment of Officers Scale I & Office Assistant (Multipurpose), proficiency in the local language is an essential qualification:

  • Candidates who have studied the language of the state in Class 8 or any level above Class 8 in government recognised boards. 
  • Where candidates do not meet the requirement in local language at the time of selection will be given a time of six months from the date of joining to acquire the proficiency. 

IBPS RRB Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Persons with Disability 

Candidates can apply for IBPS RRB examination under PwD category if they suffer from the disability not less than 40 per cent certified by Medical Board. PwD category includes candidates with the following disabilities:

  • Visually Impaired category includes candidates with total blindness, visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses and limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse
  • Deaf and Hearing Impaired means loss of sixty decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. Such candidates experience total loss of hearing ability in both ears
  • Orthopedically Challenged candidates who have locomotor disability or cerebral palsy with locomotor impairment of minimum of 40 per cent can apply for IBPS RRB under this category

Guidelines for Scribes

The visually impaired candidates whose writing speed is adversely affected permanently for any reason can use their own scribe. The following rules will be applied in the case of scribes:

  • Candidates will have to arrange their own scribe at their own cost
  • The scribe may be from any academic stream
  • Both the candidate and scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking confirming that the scribe fulfills all the eligibility criteria. Candidates availing the facility of scribes will be eligible for compensatory time of 20 minutes 
  • The scribe arranged by the candidate should not be a candidate of IBPS RRB exam

Q. I am in the final year of graduation. Can I apply for IBPS RRB exam?

Candidates must also have proficiency in computers. Candidates who are in their final year of graduation cannot apply for the exam. 

Q. I have a backlog in graduation. Can I apply for IBPS RRB exam?

A. No, you cannot apply for IBPS RRB exam. You need to clear all the papers in graduation to be eligible for the exam. To be eligible for IBPS RRB exam, candidates must be a graduate. Candidates who are in their final year of graduation cannot apply for the exam.

A: No, there are no minimum qualifying marks in graduation to apply for IBPS RRB exam. The educational qualification prescribed for IBPS RRB exam is gratuation. The age limit for Office Assistant is between 18 and 28 years. For Officers Scale I post, the age limit is between 18 and 30 years. The age limit for Officers Scale II post is between 21 and 32 years. The age limit for Officers Scale III post is between 21 and 40 years.

A: IBPS RRB application form should be filled online only. Applications submitted through offline mode will not be accepted for the exam. The steps to fill IBPS RRB application form are given below:

  • Visit the official website of IBPS
  • Register using your mobile number, name, father's name, and email ID
  • Registration ID and password are generated
  • Upload scanned photograph and signature
  • Fill in basic details, educational qualification, and work experience
  • Select preferences of Regional Rural Banks
  • Review the details before final submission
  • Upload handwritten declaration and left thumb impression
  • Select the mode of payment and pay the application fees

Q. What is the application fee for IBPS RRB exam?

A. The application fee for IBPS RRB exam is INR 850 for General and OBC candidates while it is INR 175 for SC/ST/PwD categories. The application fees can be paid online only.

Q. Can 12th pass apply for IBPS RRB?

A. All the candidates who have completed their graduation from a government-recognized university are eligible for the IBPS RRB recruitment 2022. So, the candidates who are 12th pass are not eligible for the exam.

Q. Can a final year student apply for IBPS RRB PO 2024?

A. According to IBPS RRB eligibility criteria, only graduates are to be allowed to take part in IBPS RRB selection process. So students in their final year/semester cannot apply for IBPS bank exams with their pre-final marks.
