IBPS RRB PO Exam Analysis 2024

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is conducting IBPS RRB PO 2024 prelims exam. A total of 3583 vacancies were announced for IBPS RRB PO 2024. The exam is being conducted in four shifts. According to IBPS RRB shift timings, the exam is being conducted in four shifts-9 AM to 9.45 AM, 11.15 AM to 12 AM, 1.30 PM to 2.15 PM and 3.45 PM to 4.30 PM. According to IBPS RRB PO exam pattern, the test paper carried two subjects-Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 80. The duration of the test was 45 minutes. There were no sectional timings in the exam. According to students, the overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. The Quant section was easy, whereas, the Reasoning section was moderate.

A:

IBPS RRB exam pattern highlights the overall structure of the exam such as marking scheme, total marks, number of sections, duration of exam, etc.. Before beginning with the preparation, candidates must go through IBPS RRB exam pattern thoroughly. As per IBPS RRB exam pattern, the prelims exam is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 1 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose). The total marks allotted to the test are 80. The mains exam of IBPS RRB is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 1 and Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and carries 200 marks. The single online exam is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 2 & 3 . The Interview carries 100 marks and is conducted for the posts of Officers Scale 1, Officers Scale 2 & 3. There is no  interview for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose).

IBPS RRB Clerk exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims and Mains exams. IBPS RRB PO exam pattern is such that it is divided into prelims exam, Mains exam and interview. IBPS RRB SO exam pattern comprises single online exam and interview. The exam pattern is explained below:

Preliminary Exam
  • This is an online test with objective-type questions
  • The exam typically includes sections such as Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and/or Quantitative Aptitude
  • The time duration is usually 45 minutes
  • The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 80
Main Exam
  • The main exam is also an online test with objective-type questions
  • The Mains exam comprises sections such as Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, English/Hindi Language, and Computer Knowledge
  • The Mains exam comprises 2 hours
  • Total marks allotted to the Mains exam are 200
Single Online Exam
The Single Online Exam is conducted for Officers Scale 2 and 3. The single online exam for Officers Scale 2 carries questions from Reasoning, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Finance Awareness, English/Hindi Language, Computer Knowledge. The single online exam for Officers Scale 2 comprises questions from Reasoning, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, Finance Awareness, English/Hindi Language, Computer Knowledge, Professional Knowledge. Total marks allotted to the single online exam are 200.
Interview
Interview is conducted for Officers Scale 1, 2 and 3. Total marks allotted to interview are 100.

Q:   What is IBPS RRB exam pattern for Interview?

A:

The Interview is conducted for Officers Scale I, II, and III. Candidates for Interviews are selected based on their performance in the Mains exam. The interview is co-ordinated by nodal Regional Rural banks with the help of NABARD. The interview is conducted at the selected exam centres. The marks allotted to the interview are 100. Candidates need to qualify the interview by securing the qualifying marks as decided by the examination authority.

Q:   What is IBPS RRB marking scheme?

A:

Scores obtained by candidates in IBPS RRB exam are calculated based on the marking scheme. The marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority. IBPS RRB marking scheme is given below:

Preliminary Exam:
  • Each correct answer typically carries 1 mark
  • For every incorrect answer, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks (1/4th of the mark assigned to that question)
  • Unanswered questions do not attract any penalty

Main Exam

  • The marking scheme for the main exam is generally similar to the preliminary exam, where each correct answer is awarded 1 mark.
  • There is typically a penalty for wrong answers, which is around 0.25 marks (1/4th of the mark assigned to that question)
  • There are no negative marking for unanswered questions

A:

IBPS RRB Clerk exam pattern is divided into prelims and Mains exams. The prelims exam carries 80 marks. The Mains exam carries 200 marks. There are negative markings in both prelims and Mains exams. Shiksha visited one of the IBPS RRB PO exam centres in Gurugram to gather the feedback regarding the overall difficulty level of the exam. Check below the feedback shared by the students.

Sanjana said, "The overall difficulty level of the exam was easy. The difficulty level of the Quant section was moderate. Questions were asked from compound interest, simple interest, etc. Questions in Reasoning were asked from Number Series."

Anita said, "The Reasoning section was easy but the Quant section was tough. The overall paper was easy to moderate. Questions in Reasoning were asked from Puzzles."

Vandana said, "The overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. I attempted 57 questions. In Quant, the speed maths questions were easy. Questions in this section were asked from Table chart, Pie chart, line chart, etc. In Reasoning, most questions were asked from Puzzles."
