IPS Salary

IPS salary is the most neglected component in comparison to the powers and jurisdiction of the IPS officer. The candidates overlook the IPS salary because the motivation for the candidates is the powers associated with the uniform job in the Civil Service Exam. IPS salary though less in comparison to the IAS officer but it is great when other perks and allowances are included in the overall package. Moreover, the IPS uniform has its distinct recognition among the public which is exclusive to the IPS officers only.

IPS means the Indian Police Service. It is one of the three All-India Services. IPS salary is a part and parcel of the post but it is the unprecedented power and prestige which motivates the candidate to become an IPS officer. It is a unique proposition that the Salary of an IPS officer in India is decided by the Union government and the State governments need to pay it through their resources. IPS officer's salary is one of the motivating factors though it contributes very less. The appointing authority of IPS is the President of India and they can be removed from service by him only.
