NTA releases the CUET PG syllabus for all subjects, including Horticulture. Candidates preparing to participate in the CUET PG Exam 2024 can download the CUET PG Horticulture Syllabus 2023-24 here. As per the CUET PG exam pattern, as many as 100 questions are asked in the exam, out of which, 75 questions are based on domain knowledge. CUET PG Horticulture Syllabus 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the CUET PG syllabus for all domain subjects including Horticulture. Candidates preparing for the CUET Horticulture exam can find the CUET PG Horticulture Syllabus 2023-24 on the official website of the CUET PG exam at nta.ac.in or cuet.nta.nic.in. Students seeking admission through the CUET PG 2024 exam must focus on preparing well for the exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the Common University Entrance Test (also popular as CUET) to offer admission to various UG and PG-level courses in all the central universities and other participating institutes in India. Candidates planning to enroll in a course that is mapped with the Horticulture domain must choose Horticulture for Section B in the CUET PG application form. In the CUET PG exam 2024, the candidates will have to answer 75 questions designed based on the CUET PG Horticulture syllabus.

A:

CUET PG 2025 syllabus released by NTA on January 2, 2025. Candidates preparing for CUET PG 2025 can download the CUET PG syllabus 2025 pdf by visiting the official website of CUET PG 2025 or can check out in this Shiksha page.

It is also observed that the CUET PG syllabus doesn't this year, so candidates are suggested to either go to the CUET PG 2024 official website and search for CUET PG syllabus there.

NOTE: As per the new changes introduced by NTA in the CUET PG examination for the academic session 2025-2026, the General paper syllabus of LLB and MBA courses will be redesigned to cater to skill-based. 

 

Q:   Who sets the CUET PG syllabus?

A:

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will be introduced for admission into UG/ PG programmes in Central and participating Universities for academic session 2025-26. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will
provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from NorthEast and from rural and other remote areas and help to establish better connect with the Universities. 

The CUET PG 2025 examination will be conducted by the examination authority i.e., NTA (National Testing Agency) in the various CUET PG examination centres across the nation and also to short listed foreign countries. The Syllabus for the master's courses for which the examination will be conducted is set by the exam conducting authority, which is National Testing Agency here. The subject experts after taking all the probable suggestions from all the participating universities, will set the syllabus for the master's degree programmes on the basis of what students have studied in their under graduate courses.

Q:   Does CUET PG syllabus change every year?

A:

Changing the syllabus of CUET PG depends upon the examination authority. However, the chances are very less.The applicants of CUET PG 2024 can download and check the previous year's detailed syllabus of their applied programme in this page itself.

Factors upon which CUET PG syllabus might change:

  • One of the most important reason because of which CUET PG syllabus might change is dependent upon any changes made under NEP- New Education Policy by Ministry of Education.
  • Changes made by UGC, Master of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in the master's degree programme might alter the CUET PG syllabus.
  • NTA (National Testing Agency), the examination conducting body for CUET PG Examination can change if the exam authorities feel the signficance of adding some important topics in the syllabus to ameliorate the holistic approach of the students towards the subject.

Carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and amino acids – occurrence and classification, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, glycolysis, TCA cycle, pentose phosphate pathway, ETC and oxidative phosphorylation, secondary metabolites – occurrence, classification, functions, and applications

Ecology

Physical environment; biotic environment; biotic and abiotic interactions. Concept of habitat and niche; niche width and overlap; fundamental and realized niche; resource partitioning; character displacement. Characteristics of a population; population growth curves; population regulation; life history strategies; concept of metapopulation – demes and dispersal, intergenic extinctions, age structured populations. Types of interactions, interspecific competition, herbivory, carnivory, pollination, symbiosis.

Nature of communities; community structure and attributes; levels of species diversity and its measurement; edges and ecotones. Types; mechanisms; changes involved in succession; concept of climax. Structure and function; energy flow and mineral cycling; primary production and decomposition; structure and function of some Indian ecosystems: terrestrial and aquatic. Photosynthesis: Light harvesting complexes; mechanisms of electron transport; photoprotective mechanisms; CO2 fixation-C3, C4, and CAM pathways. Citric acid cycle; plant mitochondrial electron transport and ATP synthesis; alternate oxidase; photorespiratory pathway. Nitrate and ammonium assimilation; amino acid biosynthesis. Plant hormones: Biosynthesis, storage, breakdown, and transport; physiological effects and mechanisms of action.
