IIT JAM 2025 Topper List will be released by IIT Delhi on March 19, 2025 along with the declaration of IIT JAM 2025 results. The IIT JAM 2025 exam will be providing admissions to the around 3000 seats at IITs and other participating institutes. IIT JAM 2025 Topper list

IIT JAM examination for the academic session 2025–206 will be conducted on February 2, 2025, at around 100 exam centres across the nation. Around one lakh test takers will appear in the examination. IIT JAM will provide admissions to the masters degree programmes at 23 IITs, NITs and JAM result-sharing institutes for around 3000 seats. Along with the declaration of the JAM 2025 results, IIT Delhi will publish the IIT JAM 2025 topper list on Mach 19, 2025, on the official website, ie., jam2025.iitd.ac.in.

IIT JAM 2025 Safe Score: Subject Wise

Candidates must also note that if the expected IIT JAM 2025 good score is higher then the exam difficulty level is moderately easy and vice versa. 

Q:   What is the difficulty level of IIT JAM examination?

A:

The difficulty level of IIT JAM is moderate to tough. The difficulty level for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics is tougher as compared to the IIT JAM subjects of Economics, Biotechnology and Geology.

If we compare the difficulty level of IIT JAM 2024 examination with CUET PG exam, ISI Admission test, NEST exam, IISER Entrance examination, then it will be found that IIT JAM 2024 examination is comparetively tougher than the other top colleges/ universities entrance examination.

Q:   What is step wise preparation plan for IIT JAM 2024 examination?

A:

Aspirants should check the following steps to start with the preparation process of IIT JAM 2024.

Step 1: Know the IIT JAM syllabus thoroughly.

Step 2: Understand the IIT JAM exam pattern and marking scheme.

Step 3: Get the best books to study for IIT JAM and other study material.

Step 4: Make a monthly time-table, a weekly time-table, and a daily time-table.

Step 5: Solve past years’ question papers, sample papers, and mock tests.

Q:   How is the IIT JAM 2024 Merit List made?

A:

For each Test Paper, an All India Merit list will be prepared based on AIR. The number of candidates included in the All India Merit List will depend on the total number of seats available in each category (GEN/ OBC-NCL/ EWS/ SC/ ST/ PwD) in a given subject. These candidates  (henceforth called Qualified Candidates) are eligible to apply for admission to any of the
corresponding academic programmes. The JAM 2024 Scorecard indicating the AIR and the mark obtained by the candidate will be available for download from the JAM 2024 website from April 02, 2024 to July 31, 2024 for qualified candidates.

Q:   How was the IIT JAM 2024 exam difficulty level?

A:

IIT JAM 2024 exam shift 1 was found to be moderately easy by maximum candidates who appeared for Mathematics, Chemistry, and Geology subjects. Questions were designed in such a manner to test their analytical and practical approach of the concerned subject. Maximum number of candidates who have appeared in the IIT JAM 2024 exam had their first attempt in the examination. The Chemistry section has been rated as easy to moderate. Some of the topics included Molar Conductivity, Magnetic Moments, Titration, Bonds, etc. As per some candidates, the MCQ questions were tougher than the MSQs and NAT questions. The Geology section has questions from topics such as geomorphology, mineralogy, and petrology were moderately difficult.  

Q:   How was the IIT JAM 2024 exam difficulty level of Mathematics Subject?

A:

IIT JAM 2024 Exam Analysis

  1. Paper was found to be moderately tough.
  2. Numerical Answer Type (NAT) found to be very difficult by most of the IIT JAM 2024 Mathematics candidates.
  3. MCQ questions that were asked in the section A and section B were also found to be very difficult to answer. More tricky types questions were asked.
  4. MSQ section was doable.

IIT JAM Mathematics detailed exam analysis: Section wise

Section A: 5-6 questions were asked as straightforward MCQ questions.

Geometry and Topology (GT):

  1. Order> or equal to 6.

Ordinary Differential Equation:

  1. Group of order 39 has exactly one sub group of order 3 and 13. G cannot be boolean as 13 has element of order.
  2. Bernoulli Theorem.
  3. U (8)= U (12)- isomorphisim

IIT JAM 2025 Marks vs Rank

JAM 2025 candidates' ranks will be based on their combined scores from the three sections (A, B, and C). The exam comprises 60 questions with a total score of 100 marks. Below is a table for the expected IIT JAM 2025 ranks corresponding to different score ranges.

IIT JAM 2024 Cut Off

Candidates could check the cutoff by login into their JOAPS 2024 account. This year's cut off is expected to be higher than previous year's cut off. This is because the difficulty level of the questions was lower compared to IIT JAM. According to experts, the IIT JAM 2024 cutoff marks range from 29 to 32.
