Mayank Shukla: The overall difficulty level of IIT JAM 24 Mathematics subject was found to be moderate. The topics which were found to lengthy were Group Theory and Integral Calculus. Most of the questions came from the subject group theory.

Kushal: Appeared for IIT JAM 2024 Mathematics subject. The overall exam difficulty level was found be higher than the previous year. IIT JAM 2025 Scorecard is basically a rankcard which consist of the number of marks which the aspirant has achieved in the IIT JAM 2025 examination. The negative marking scheme is as follows:
Section A: For each wrong answer to one mark question, 1/3 mark will be deducted. On the other hand, for each wrong answer to two marks questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted. There is no negative marking for any questions left unanswered.
Section B: There is no negative marking in this section. Also, there is no partial marking provision in this section.
Section C: There is no negative marking in this section, as well.

IIT JAM 2023 Analysis - Slot 1
Slot 1 of the IIT JAM 2023 was conducted for three subjects, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geology. The subject-wise analysis and student reactions are given below.
Chemistry: The difficulty level of the Chemistry section was considered to be easy to moderate. The questions were on the expected lines. The majority of the questions appeared from the topics of Atoms & Molecules, Analytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, etc. Some of the questions were lengthy and calculation intensive in nature.
Mathematics: The Mathematics paper was of moderate to tough difficulty level. The topics from which maximum questions were asked included Linear Algebra, Sequence and Series, Order and Rieman among others.
Geology: The Geology subject was also of easy to moderate difficulty level. The questions were theory-based. While some questions were easy and direct, few were tricky and time-consuming. The topics included Applied Geology, Structural Geology, Geomorphology, etc.
IIT JAM 2023 Analysis - Slot 2
Slot 2 or the afternoon slot was conducted for four subjects, Physics, Biotechnology, Mathematical Statistics and Economics. The subject-wise analysis is given below.
Physics: The difficulty level of Physics was moderate. Candidates found the exam to be on the expected lines. The majority of the questions were from Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electrostatics, Electromagnetic, Numerical Physics and others. The questions focussed on concepts and a few questions were calculation intensive.
Biotechnology: The Biotechnology paper was also of moderate to tough difficulty level. A few questions were direct and easy to answer. Molecular Biology and Cell Biology had the maximum number of questions.
Economics: The Economics section had questions on Macro Economics, Micro Economics, Statistics and Mathematics. The difficulty level of this subject was easy to moderate.

IIT JAM 2021 Exam Analysis - Session I
IIT Roorkee successfully conducted IIT JAM 2022 Session I on February 13. According to the students who attempted the paper, the examination was well conducted and social distancing measures were followed.
Physics (PH) - The difficulty level of Physics was moderate to tough. In the question paper, the students had to solve questions mainly from EMP, Thermodynamics, Mechanics and Optics. According to the candidates, the questions were not straight forward unlike last year. Overall, the exam pattern and the difficulty level were as per expectations.
Biotechnology (BT) - According to the students, the paper had equal conceptual and numerical type questions. There were more questions from Microscopics and Biology. Questions were also asked on Molecular Biotechnology and Biogenetics.
Mathematical Statistics (MS) - The difficulty level of the paper was tough. The topics that dominated were Testing of Hypotheses and Classical Probability.
IIT JAM 2022 Exam Analysis - Session II
The second slot of IIT JAM was conducted for four papers, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics and Geology. The major topics and facets of each of the subjects or papers of IIT JAM 2022 is given below.
Chemistry (CY) - The difficulty level of this section was moderate. The topics were evenly distributed among Organic, Inorganic and Physical Chemistry.
