The college provides excellent opportunities, and I am extremely satisfied with it.
Placements: The university is highly reputed, which helps get good packages. It makes a huge impact on your resume if you are a student of Panjab University, Chandigarh. America offers great opportunities for students of biochemistry, and biochemistry students have the highest rate of visa success for the US. Students can choose from a variety of career options, from teaching to research and forensics.
Infrastructure: The PU hostels are very well-known for their good maintenance. The library is huge and has a great number of options to study. If you choose well and utilize your time properly, it's an excellent opportunity. Sports and games are promoted. Recently too, there was recruitment for a secretary for the sports department.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely helpful and excellent in their respective fields. Their experience can be seen in the way they make such a tough curriculum interesting. The curriculum is relevant to what we require to work on in our practical workspace.
Other: It's an excellent opportunity. Being a student of PU brings you immense proud.

Panjab University is the best place to study.
Placements: Our college has good placements, and the highest salary package offered is 30 LPA. Pharma and other best companies recruit students from our college every year. Many companies and lab partners visit our campus every year for placements. You will surely get good placements if you are good at studies and practical knowledge.
Infrastructure: Our college has the best infrastructure. Classrooms are smart, and they are huge with a good sitting facility. There are good library facilities. Labs and research area are well-equipped with instruments. The department also has an animal house for practical purpose, and there are different labs for different subjects. The library has good accommodation, and books are in an ample number.
Faculty: Faculty members who have the best knowledge are recruited by our college, and all faculty members here are cooperative with students. They clarify all doubts and maintain a great bond with their students. Staff members are quite good, and lab attendants are also good. They all understand students well and care for them, and teachers clarify students doubts in any aspect.
Other: Our campus is safe and very good.

I am satisfied with the college in all aspects.
Placements: The course provides many amazing new and various opportunities for students. It may consist of laboratory part, teaching, medical placements and all. It is very much valuable in foreign countries as it is a modern stream too. Various companies also help with this.
Infrastructure: All the facilities and infrastructure provided are too good. I am happy with everything. Wi-Fi is also provided. The quality of food served in the mess, and the canteen is much better. All the facilities are provided in the hostel as per the need and requirements of the students.
Faculty: All the teachers very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also good. They help students with their skills and passion in a good way. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready too.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion and interest in the stream. Everything is wonderful in the course.

Really good infrastructure facility. Course fee is nominal and easily affordable by most students.
Placements: There are no placements. The placement cell of the department in not at active, it just exists formally. Even if students take the initiative to activate the dead placement cell of the department, there is no support. No companies visit the campus. No internship projects at the undergraduate stage.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is good, high speed and free for students. Library facility is great, all books with every edition related to biochemistry are available. The only problem is the issue time for books, it is from 3:30-5 p.m. Sometimes, the students are free prior to that time and they have to wait till late afternoon to issue a book. Sports and games facility is good, they have intra-department sports meet once a year and the whole university has a Panjab University sports meet.
Faculty: The faculty is fine. They are quite helpful, well-qualified and knowledgeable. Teachers teach through power point presentations mostly and with the help of blackboards at times. Student-faculty ratio is 30:1. There is no industry exposure for undergraduates. The course curriculum is averagely useful.

Biochemistry in PU - it is worthy.
Placements: No as such placements but the students are preparing for several government exams and they got placed after MSc in quality control and biochemical industries. The student also got a fellowship in good institutes like NIPER, IISER etc, and a few students got a job in hospitals.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good. The campus is Wi-Fi covered, and the labs in this department are really good. There are fantastic classrooms available with a projector in each and every classroom. A central medical centre is also there for medical facilities. A large ground and a central cricket ground are also present here. The hostels are a bit old but the departments are really nice. The canteen facilities are not up to the mark but are not bad either.
Faculty: A huge range of faculty members in terms of experience and achievement. They are highly qualified and use various methods to teach. 12:1 is the student-teacher ratio, and time to time industry exposure is provided. This is a very useful course because, in a normal college, you will get the exposure to local authors, but here, you will get exposure to foreign authors also.
Other: Visit our department before getting admission here. Attend few classes, and try to get extra knowledge from the teachers as they are very nice. Contact the seniors who are research scholars or a JRF here. Also, try to contact the ones who are researching in other institutes.

Q:   Is M.A. at Panjab University worth the investment?

    A:
    {Source: M.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

    Pros:

    * Good faculty: Many students praised the professors' qualifications, knowledge, and approachability.
    * Well-structured course curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the theoretical foundations.
    * Infrastructure and amenities: The campus is well-maintained, with decent facilities, including a library, gym, and recreational spaces.
    * Exposure to various activities: The university offers various extracurricular activities, festivals, and events, allowing students to explore their interests.

    Cons:

    * Placement record: The placement rate is relatively low, and many students rely on self-effort or pursuing higher education (e.g., NET or Ph.D.) for career advancement.
    * Limited industry connections: The university's ties with industries seem limited, resulting in fewer job opportunities for students.
    * Research-oriented internships: While some internships are available, they tend to be research-focused rather than corporate-driven, limiting practical experience.
    * Academic intensity: Some students felt that the course load was too heavy, with little scope for hands-on learning or industry application.

In conclusion, whether M.A. at Panjab University is worth the investment depends on individual goals and expectations. For those seeking a strong academic foundation and theoretical knowledge, the university seems suitable. However, for those looking for direct industry exposure, job guarantees, or extensive career opportunities, they may need to supplement their degree with additional efforts or consider alternative options.

Recommendation: If you're considering the M.A. programme at Panjab University, weigh the pros and cons carefully, focusing on your academic and career aspirations. Consider networking with faculty and peers, exploring extracurricular activities, and developing transferable skills to enhance your prospects.
