A:

Yes, Chandigarh University conducts Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for admission to all of its UG and PG courses. This is a common entrance exam that is applicable for admission of candidates in every stream such as Management, Humanities, Science, Commerce, Engineering, etc. To get admission to any of the courses offered at Chandigarh University, students have to apply for this exam on the official website of CUCET and appear for the exam. This exam is conducted in an online mode in two phases. For admission to any of the courses, there are two decisive factors that are considered by the university for admission. These are eligibility criteria and CUCET scores.

Q:   How can I take admission in Chandigarh University?

A:

The Chandigarh University admission process consists mainly of three steps. The admission starts with the CUCET registration process. Find below the step-wise detailed  Chandigarh University Application Process:

Q:   Is Chandigarh University (CU) good for B.A. LL.B.?

A:
{Source: B.A. LL.B. students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure: The university has a beautiful campus with state-of-the-art facilities, including libraries, laboratories, and moot courts.
* Experienced faculty: Most professors are well-qualified and knowledgeable in their fields, providing excellent guidance and mentorship.
* Placement opportunities: While the placements for B.A. LL.B. students might not be as strong as other streams, several students have reported receiving internships and job offers from reputed organizations.
* Campus life: CU has a vibrant campus culture, with various events, festivals, and competitions organized throughout the year.
* Supportive environment: Students praise the university's approachability and willingness to listen to concerns.

Cons:

* Limited placements for law students: Some students feel that the placements for law students are not as robust as other streams, although efforts are being made to improve this aspect.
* Strict attendance policy: The university has a strict attendance policy, requiring students to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance for examinations.

Conclusion:
While Chandigarh University might not excel in all areas, it offers a good blend of academic and extracurricular opportunities for B.A. LL.B. students. With experienced faculty, modern infrastructure, and a supportive environment, CU provides a solid foundation for aspiring lawyers. However, it's essential to weigh these pros against the cons, particularly regarding placements. Ultimately, students should research thoroughly and assess their individual needs before making an informed decision.

A Student's Perspective: Pros and Cons of CU.
Placements: Many of them get placed, but they decide to go for higher studies. The highest package in B.Sc. was approximately 6 Lacs, and the average package offered by companies for B.Sc. Biotech was 4 Lacs. Top roles offered were in insurance companies, medical scriber, etc.
Infrastructure: All the classes are smart classes. Wi-Fi is available in the hostels only and available in academic buildings but not for students, only for teachers. Lifts are available but students are not allowed in them; they are only for facilities and guests. Every academic building has its own library, but there is a central library situated in the South campus of Chandigarh University. The facilities provided by the hostels include a gym. Every hostel has its own mess on the ground floor, and they maintain hygiene. The food quality is also good.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are very helpful, and all the teachers are qualified, having completed their Ph.D. in their fields. The university has two types of exams: MST 1 (mid-sem exam) and end-semester exam. The mid-sem exam is of 20 marks, with 1 hour given for the exam, and the end-semester exam is of 60 marks, with 3 hours given.
Other: I chose Biotech because I was interested in research and development. The best part of the course is doing the labs. The campus always has some event or fest. Some of the fests are 9XM Tashan Night, CU FEST, Fresher Party, Farewell Party, all organized by the university. Chandigarh University also provides scholarships for students. The name of the scholarship exam is CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test). By giving this test, you can get a scholarship of up to 100%, and if you have scored more than 90% in 12th, you can get a 50% scholarship without giving CUCET.

Chandigarh University is good for exposure, placement, and course.
Placements: Placements are provided. Companies like TCS came. Most students that were sitting in placement got placement. The average package starts at 3 Lacs. Roles like business development, product development, and sales were offered. Projects were also given.
Infrastructure: The whole campus got a Wi-Fi connection. In hostel facilities, they maintain the cleanliness and regular feedback from students is taken for hostel facilities. The quality of the hostel is good. Mess provides also good and healthy food. We also had dispensaries for medical and had sports complexes.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified. All teachers are Ph.D. graduates. Teaching quality was very good. The curriculum is also good and relevant to the course. One industrial visit is given. And also, we had to do an internship and a project according to your interest. No difficulties in exam.

Above average private college.
Placements: Attending this college in terms of placements has been a major disappointment. The promises made during the admissions process about top-tier companies recruiting students turned out to be completely hollow. The number of companies actually coming to the college for recruitment is lower than advertised. Firstly, the placement cell is highly disorganized and lacks a proactive approach. Communication with students is poor, with important updates often being delivered at the last minute, causing unnecessary stress and confusion. Secondly, the number of companies that actually visit the campus is far fewer than advertised. Most of the companies are either startups with an uncertain future or small firms offering minimal salary packages that are not at all commensurate with the education we received or the cost of the programme. The reputed companies that do visit have extremely high selection criteria, which only a handful of students meet. Furthermore, the preparation and training provided by the college are subpar. The so-called workshops and mock interviews are poorly conducted and do not cover the latest industry trends or interview techniques, leaving students inadequately prepared. Lastly, there is a clear lack of support for students who are struggling to secure placements. The college seems more interested in showcasing inflated placement statistics than genuinely helping students find suitable.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my department is quite good. It has all the necessities a modern classroom requires. Projector, board, AC, fans—the rooms are quite equipped. The department library is also very good. The department does have a lift, but students are not allowed to use that, so that's a negative point. The hostel facilities are fine, but the food quality is a disappointment. It does have a study room and a gym, but it lacks proper basic maintenance. I was in the Lecorbusiur Hostel (girls). It does not have a lift yet, and it's a struggle for students to climb the 8th–5th floor after classes.
Faculty: The faculty at this college is a mixed bag. On the positive side, there are a few standout professors who are genuinely passionate about their subjects and go above and beyond to help students understand complex concepts. These professors are approachable, respond to queries, and often provide additional resources to aid in learning. However, a significant portion of the faculty seems to lack enthusiasm and innovation in their teaching methods. Many professors rely heavily on outdated notes and traditional lecture formats, which can make classes monotonous and less effective for grasping the material. Additionally, some professors appear to be more focused on their research work than on teaching, leading to a lack of attention and support for students. In terms of industry experience, there is a noticeable gap. While a few faculty members have relevant industry experience and bring valuable insight,. The college organises three exams every semester. 2 midterms and 1 endterm. The difficulty level of the papers depends; it can range from easy to hard. The pass percentage depends on the highest score on a particular paper.

Totally satisfied with the faculty. Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 80% of students were placed after B.Sc., and the rest mostly chose to do M.Sc. The highest package is 18 lakh per year, and the lowest is 7 lakh per year. Companies include Apollo Hospitals, Roots Analysis, Amazon India, and Health Biotech. About 80% got internships in MNCs as well as in other companies like Mankind and Apollo.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library all have well-created infrastructure, which is very nice. The whole department is clean, and the library provides every book that is needed by students. Labs have all the necessary equipment needed to perform experiments, and we have different labs for different subjects. The facilities in our hostel are fine, although they repeat the same food in the mess again and again. Medical facilities are provided from 8 PM to 8 AM in case of emergencies; otherwise, our hostel is inside the campus, and the hospital is there as well.
Faculty: All the teachers are doctorate; they are not only highly qualified but also knowledgeable. They are very helpful in case of any doubt; you can visit them and clear your doubts. Yes, this course curriculum is relevant; it does make the students industry-ready. If you study or know the basics, then they are not so difficult. The pass percentage is 90%.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in biology and chemistry and working with the latest technology in the field of biochemistry. The best thing is the lab classes. In India, biotechnology is not known at that level, so more awareness is needed. There are lots of events and fests, and the campus crowd is very friendly; you can connect with people. Scholarships are provided based on scholarship tests or the Plus 2 percentage.

Our college provides good courses with happening college life.
Placements: Around 40% of students got placed in our batch because the field requires master's for decent jobs. Therefore many students opt for a master's. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Our college provides placements with an average salary package of 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Companies like IDF Infotech, Serum Institute, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good infrastructure and facilities. Every department has a designed library. Labs are there for all practical subjects aligning with the curriculum. The hostel is good. It is on the campus. It provides proper food. Wi-Fi and lift facilities are available in our college. Some air-conditioned rooms are available in the hostel. The campus is green and beautiful.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and helpful. They all are very experienced and qualified. The course curriculum is well-designed and relevant to industrial needs. Our college exams are moderate. The passing percentage is 33%. We have two mid-term and one final term with quizzes, assignments, group activities, and surprise tests each semester.
Other: I chose this course because it has a better scope and opportunities in the future. Our college life is very happening in Chandigarh University. It conducts many events, fests, interactions, webinars, and seminars.
