Annamalai University Chidambaram's B.E./B.Tech programs have consistently held their position in the NIRF rankings, ranging from 151-200 in 2021, 201 in 2022, and maintaining the range of 151-200 in 2023.

Annamalai University BTech fees range between INR 1.5 Lacs and INR 7 lakh. The university offers four-year full-time BE/BTech courses in various specialisations on-campus and through affiliated colleges. In addition, apart from the regular BE degree, Annamalai University also offers part-time BE courses covering four specialisations. BE Lateral entry courses are also available. Admission to the UG courses is based on merit, seats are further allotted to the shortlisted candidates through TNEA counselling. Some of the specialisations in which the course is offered are Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering, which have been accredited by the NBA with an ‘A’ Grade.

Annamalai University admission to BPharm, BPharm (LE) programmes is based on the candidate’s performance in the previous qualifying exam (Class 12 or equivalent exam), followed by a university-conducted counselling round for seat allotment. Moreover, it is also compulsory for each of the aspirants to meet the course-specific eligibility requirements to seek admission. Annamalai University accepts TNEA scores for admission to the BE and BTech courses. According to TNEA Round 1 Seat allotment, B.Tech. in Information Technology closed at 11578, which is the least and the most competitive closing ranks of all the specialisations. Followed by BTech IT is B.E. in Chemical Engineering with R1 closing rank of 14882 and finally with 95280 rank is B.E. in Biomedical Engineering.
