Bad placements and accommodation.
Placements: To be honest, placements are not good here at all. Students get eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards. Only around 15% of the students got placed, and to get placed, you need to apply for off campus placements because not many companies visit the campus. The highest package offered was around 3.5 LPA and the lowest one was 1 LPA.
Infrastructure: Extracurriculars are average but sports facilities are good, but not maintained well and the lab facility is also good, many practical and theory labs are provided by the university and there are sufficient labs for other departments as well. Instruments of labs are sufficient for engineering and other students. Hostel infrastructure is good, but food and facilities are not good enough according to the fee structure.
Faculty: Faculty of the college are good, every faculty has great knowledge. But some of them do not maintain their scheduled time table of class. Also, all of them are cooperative in nature and ready to help to us. There are a total of 8 semesters and exam of all the semesters are in a fine manner and a little difficult for everyone. You will be promoted to the next semester only if you complete the previous semester with qualifying marks. All semesters have approximately. 8-10 subjects.

Our university is the best for academic career.
Placements: More than 10% of students get placed on-campus. The salary offered is Rs.15,000 per month. Training will be provided after getting placed. The minimum salary offered is Rs.20,000 per month and the maximum salary offered is Rs.40,000 per month. Students get good job opportunities on-campus with a salary of Rs.15,000 - Rs.20,000 per month and they will increase our salary. Students get better incentives and training at the workplace.
Infrastructure: The hostel is very clean and well-maintained in our college.
Faculty: All teachers in our college encourage students to score the best. They guide and motivate us for NEET JEE and other courses so that we score high marks. Teachers and our principal are very kind and helpful to students. They give coaching and encourage students to score higher. Students study without any difficulty.
Other: I chose this course as it provides very good job opportunities.

Teaching is good but infrastructure and hostel is poor in our college.
Placements: Only 5% of students are placed. About 5-10 students are placed on campus interviews out of a total of 108 students in class. About 10% of students got internships from your course. In the future, our college tries to improve campus interviews.
Infrastructure: Hostel rooms and food are very poor in our college. The hostel toilet and hostel food are not satisfactory for the money paid. Hostels are of old buildings. The sports ground is good. This college is not good for hostels. The lab facility is good with many machines that are useful for studying.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very good in our college. Semester exams are prepared by the college. About 70% of students pass the semester exams. Faculty members are also friendly to students.

This college provides good infrastructure and facilities with poor placements.
Placements: There were various courses offered, but there was a lack of placements facilities. There was placements cell, but they did not take care of internships. If students were interested, then they can ask the coordinator or HOD to arrange internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was excellent, and it is one of the largest universities in the world. The mess was not good, but the sports facilities were good. The hostel was very old, and the food served in the mess was average. They need to improve hostel facilities, and Wi-Fi was available for free. The laboratory facilities were excellent, even other college students visit for projects.
Faculty: Teachers were highly qualified but due to the bad behavior of some students, they do not interfere much in students' activity. The semester exams were helpful in the industry. The pass percentage was 50%.
Other: It is the oldest and the largest university in India.

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2018

Good place for people with a passion towards their subject/field.
Placements: I belong to the 2014-2018 Batch of B.E Mechanical engineering. 5-10% of the students were placed through campus placement and another 20% through application for jobs in companies. Max package - 30K/month and the lowest - 10K/month. Top recruiters - Super Auto Forge, Brakes India Ltd. Some of our students got an internship in IIT-Madras, Super Auto Forge, NLC India Ltd., Delhi TVS etc. The top roles offered was - Graduate Engineer Trainee.
Infrastructure: I must honestly say that the facilities available at Annamalai University mechanical department are some of the best in India for the fields of IC engines, RAC, HMT and Fuels & combustion. The classrooms are large to capacitate nearly 150 students and the Library is also huge. However, there is no campus Wi-Fi. But the hostel Wi-Fi is available. The reason why I gave 4 stars was chiefly because of Mess food and bathroom facilities. Both are the worst. Rooms are fairly spacious, we have a medical college nearby, so it's really good. Sports and games facilities are almost the best in Tamil Nadu.
Faculty: There were only very few senior professors, associate professors and senior assistant professors who were really good. But they were really good in their field. As for many other less experienced assistant professors, they aren't as qualified and knowledgeable as expected. Regarding the course curriculum, it's quite outdated and needs to be revised to meet the current challenges of the industries. However, it encompasses all the basics a mechanical engineer is required to know.
Other: I chose mechanical engineering because my dream was to become an automobile engineer. The platform ordered by Annamalai University is Best fitted for mechanical engineers aspiring to be automobile engineers. We have many active clubs such as SAE (Go-Kart racing), ASHRAE (Refrigeration and Air conditioning), IEI (Institute of Engineers - India)- students chapter, Mechanics engineering Association and many invited special guest lectures from eminent scientists, engineers and military personnel. The crowd of students mostly aren't a very intelligible crowd, but the connectivity, campus surroundings and extracurricular activities are pretty amazing. You have so much to learn in so little time. It's truly an amazing place to be for extracurricular activities, sports and talent development activities. Regarding the courses, it's better the department makes slight modifications to the curriculum to fit the industrial demands of today's world.
