{Source: M.A. students & alumni}

Assam University offers a Master's degree programme in Manipuri Language and Literature, which is a unique course that focuses on the language, literature, history, and culture of Manipur. Here's what past students and alumni have said about their experience:

Pros:

* Good faculty: The professors are knowledgeable and passionate about their subject, making classes engaging and informative.
* Relevant curriculum: The course covers a wide range of topics related to Manipuri language, literature, history, and culture, providing a solid foundation for research, teaching, and cultural preservation.
* Well-maintained infrastructure: The university has modern classrooms, laboratories, and recreational facilities, ensuring a conducive environment for learning.
* Placements: While the placement record may not be outstanding, some students have secured jobs in government organizations, educational institutions, and media outlets.

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities: Companies rarely visit the campus for recruitment, and students may need to rely on their own efforts to secure a job.
* Low stipend for interns: Internships are available, but the stipend is relatively low (Rs. 8,000 - Rs. 10,000 per month).

Overall best university for M.A. in Sociology course.
Placements: In our course, about 60% of the students were placed. The payment was satisfactory. The prizes were all the same; therefore, in my view, they were equal. Students are offered positions with the state government, the sociology department, and others. Of the students in our course, about 55% were able to secure internships. Market research analyst, community development executive, and other high-level positions are among them.
Infrastructure: Everything in our department is there, and not only is one thing labs, but the supply chain is inefficient. The main problem of our department is the problem of drinking water. Hostels are provided for each student and are available only to those with certificates. Food quantities are poor, medical facilities are nothing, but infrastructure such as restaurants, sports, and theater are all lacking.
Faculty: They were knowledgeable, capable, and helpful. The quality of instruction was good. The course material is suitable. It gets pupils ready for the workforce. It improves students' capacity for research, their ability to teach, and our general understanding. Exams for the semester are a little challenging. Approximately 78% of people pass.

In our university, there are some problems like they did not allot the highest marks.
Placements: In our department now 23 students got placed in college. They don't provide salary, and any company don't visit the campus for our department. The top roles are not offered, because our department teacher does not provide high mark. I don't know the reason. In our college, no one got an internship because no company visited the campus. The college doesn't invite any company.
Infrastructure: Everything in our department is available, and not just one thing that is labs, but the facilities provided do not work properly. Our department major problem is drinking water problem. Hostel facility is provided to every student, and only those with the only identity get it. Food quantity is not better, medical facilities are okay, but all facilities like canteen, sport and games field is not available.
Faculty: Every teacher is not helpful, and some teachers are a very nice person, and they help at any time to students. And some provide reading material, and teachers are very knowledgeable. The course curriculum is relevant. But it does not make students industry-ready.
Other: I have chosen this course because this course is my favourite subject. The best thing about this course for any societal problem, there is properly scientific study with solutions of social fact. Facilities like scholarship, connectivity, etc. are good but not every student get it.
