DU CUET UG 2023 and PG Exam Pattern has been released by the exam conducting body. DU CUET UG exam is scheduled to be held from May 21 to June 6. The exam conducting body UGC announced that the DU CUET UG 2023 exam pattern will remain same as of the last year, however, there has been a slight change in the pattern. Unlike, last year, the total number of questions to be asked and the number of questions to be attempted has changed. DU CUET UG exam is being held in a computer-based mode (CBT) mode for a duration of three hours. DU CUET UG exam will consist of three parts and there will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The exam will be held in English and the languages selected by the aspirants. Each question will carry five marks and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

DUET Exam Pattern 2023 for PhD courses are yet to be announced by the exam concuting body i.e., National Testing Agency (NTA). DUET exam pattern is defined by the National Testing Agency (NTA) after thoroughly analysing the subjects and the requirements for the course. The exam for doctoral is conducted in LAN Based CBT (Computer Based Test). There is a provision for negative marking in all the programmes for an incorrect answer.

DU CUET UG 2023 Marking Scheme

NTA has released the marking scheme of DU CUET UG at the official website of the exam. Candidates can check the below space to know about DU CUET UG 2023 marking scheme below.

i. Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Five marks (+5)
ii. Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
iii. Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
iv. If more than one option is found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to only
v. those who have marked any of the correct options.
vi. If all options are found to be correct then Five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

vii. If none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

Q:   How many times is DUET exam conducted in a year?

A:
The Delhi University Entrance Test is conducted once a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is held to provide admission to candidates in PhD courses. DUET or Delhi University Entrance exam is a common admission test for MPhil and PhD programmes offered by the Delhi University. The exam is mainly held in three shifts across different cities. The national-level entrance exam is conducted in online mode I. e. LAN Based Computer-Based Test. The exam official notification DUET will be announced soon at the official website of the exam.

Q:   How will the admission be given after DU CUET-PG exam?

A:
After the DU CUET-PG exam, the admission process will be managed at the level of each of the participating Universities/Institutions for their respective programs. After the result of the CUET-PG are announced, the respective Universities will release the counselling/admission schedule and merit list based on CUET 2023 score and any other criteria of participating universities. Candidates are suggested to check the website of the concerned University for details. There will be admission counselling for Universities/Institutions with additional applicable fees.

Q:   What are the important rules that candidates need to take care of during the examination?

A:
During the exam, each candidate are required to attempt subject as per the choice selected in the application form. Candidates are suggested to ensure that name of the subject on the screen is the same as per their admit card. If candidates faces any issue or in case of any discrepancy candidates need to inform invigilators immediately. Notably, candidates must attempt subjects as per their choice in the application, and they are suggested to take proper care of this point. As once printed on the candidates issued admit card the subject will not be changed.

Q:   Will there be any deduction of marks in case a candidate skips a question in DUET paper?

A:
No, no marks will be deducted for a question that is left unattempted. The candidates can safely skip questions if they do not know the correct answer. Notably, candidates will be awarded 4 (four) marks for each correct answer while one marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. There is negative marking in DUET exam. Q:   What is the medium of DUET paper?

A:
The medium of DUET exam is English only. But, the language courses may have an exception. Meanwhile, DU CUET UG 2023 exam will also be held other languages such as Assamese, Bengali, English Gujarati, Hindi Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. However, the selection of medium will be restricted to particular States/UTs. Q:   Will the exam authorities introduce any changes in the pattern of DUET for the upcoming session?

A:
As the official notification and schedule is yet to be released, so as of now, the pattern is expected to remain the same as that of last year. In the previous academic session of DUET the exam was held in LAN Based CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. The DUET exam which is conducted for Ph.D. courses was of total 2 hours. Questions in the DUET exam was mainly objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Candidates were supposed to select an answer from the given four options for the question.

Q:   Is there any policy for taking a drop for DU CUET UG exam 2023?

A:
The CUET-PG 2023 will be Bilingual-English and Hindi or specific language where required. Meanwhile, the question paper will be in Sanskrit only for Acharya, Shiksha Shastri and Shiksha Acharya programmes. Further in case of Shiksha Shastri and Shiksha Acharya the entire 100 questions of the question paper would be in Sanskrit language only. In case of LAQP01 and LAQP41 the specific language would be used for the domain knowledge questions I. e. 75 questions. Candidates need to read the exam brochure or the Shiksha page to know more about the exam pattern.

Q:   What will happen if I fail to appear in the CUET examination on the scheduled exam day?

A:
If a candidates fails to reach the exam centre on time they will be considered absent in the exam. No candidate will be allowed to appear at the examination centre/date/timings other than that allotted to them on their admit card. Notably, candidates who are unable to appear on the scheduled date of exam due to any reason, will not be given another chance to appear or no retest shall be held by the exam conducting body National Testing Agency under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are suggested to reach the exam centre as per their scheduled date and time of the exam to the allotted exam centre.

Q:   Can a candidate move back and forth between the questions in CUET-PG exam?

A:
Yes, aspirants will have the option to move back and forth or navigate between the questions as per the instructions available on the user interface of candidates computer display screen. Candidates can change even answer options, any-time before they enter submit button. Candidates are suggested to read the instruction properly before answering the question. Candidates can also practice the same through the mock test at NTA official website.

Q:   What documents does a candidate need to carry to the DUET examination centre on the day of examination?

A:
Candidates are supposed to bring the following documents to the exam centre on the day of examination: A hard copy of the admit card. A original and valid Photo Identification proof issued by the government including PAN card or Driving License or Voter ID or Passport or Aadhaar Card (With photograph) or EAadhaar or Ration Card. Aadhaar Enrolment No. With Photo. All other ID/Photocopies of IDs even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in mobile phone will NOT be considered as valid ID Proof. PwBD Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming relaxation under PwBD category. The scribe must also carry an Undertaking regarding educational qualification, etc. , passport size photograph and valid government identity proof.

Q:   What precaution should be taken while carrying document to the DUET exam centre?

A:
Candidates appearing for the exam should keep following things in the mind while carrying the document. The name on the photo identification must match with the name as shown on the Admit Card. If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, candidate must show the relevant document like Marriage Certificate / Divorce / Decree / Legal Name Change Document at the time of examination.

Q:   What is the DUET pattern for B.Tech?

A:
The Delhi University Entrance exam pattern will be in MCQs (multiple-choice questions). There will be four choices for each question in the entrance exam. There is negative marking as well, so students have to be careful and should know which answer they are dotting correctly on the OMR sheet. Also, for every correct answer you will earn 4 marks. Unfortunately no. DUET is Delhi University Entrance Test and DU has discontinued the PG Diploma in Bioinformatics programme in 2023. Therefore, preparing for DUET to get admission to the PG Diploma in Bioinformatics programme will not be helpful.
