Q:   Can I get DTU with 80 percentile in JEE Main via JAC Delhi?

A:
Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors: Number of aspirants registered, The difficulty level of the exam, Total number of seats available, total number of applications received for a particular program, and the category under which admission is sought. Therefore, it is very difficult to predict the exact cutoff and give an exact answer to this question.

Q:   What are the most competitive branches at DTU considering the JEE Main cutoff 2023?

A:

DTU JEE Main cutoff 2023 was concluded after Round 5 of the Seat Allotment Result. As per the JEE Main cutoff 2023, the most competitive branches at DTU (Delhi Technological University) are:

1. Computer Science and Engineering (CSE): The last round closing rank for CSE at DTU for JEE Main 2023 was 4876 (General-All India), while it was 4008 and 2445 in 2022 and 2021, respectively.

2. Information Technology (IT): The closing rank for IT at DTU in last round of JEE Main 2023 was 6424 (General-All India), while it was 5110 and 4142 in 2022 and 2021, respectively.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Dissatisfied with hostel infrastructure, best placement stats of all time.
Placements: This time, about 80 percent of students were placed, and the average package of the ECE branch is 16.60 LPA, which is good, I think. The highest package is 85.60 LPA, secured by 4 students, one of whom is from the ECE branch itself. All major companies come for recruiting in DTU, like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, and many more.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of classes and labs is pretty good; they are all air-conditioned with proper lighting and entry and exit paths. But the infrastructure of the first-year boys' hostel is just too bad. They are not livable and are priced too high as per their conditions. The drainage system blocks more often, the lighting is bad, there is no good common area for students, and the AC or geyser doesn't work most of the time.
Faculty: All teachers are very well-qualified, but how good they will teach depends only on them. Some just get Microsoft PPTs and read words like bullet trains, while some, on the other hand, believe in practical teaching and teach in a very good way, creating a very good teacher-student relationship. My programming fundamentals practical teacher is very good. I feel some parts of the course structure are just irrelevant as per today's standards.

Campus life and fests- everything is magnificent. Exams are not a big deal.
Placements: For the batch that is passing this year, the average package is around 10-11 LPA, while the highest package is around 30 LPA. 73 students had registered, out of which 49 are placed as of now. The overall placement market is down this year if we compare it with previous year records.
Infrastructure: The old SPS building is given for classes. It has nice air conditioning but old-fashioned furniture. The library is a good place for study on the campus; it's chilled and silent. Wi-Fi speed is very slow, whether it is in the hostel or library. Hostel rooms for first-years are basically 2BHK flats in which 5 people are living. The hostel rooms are old, equipped only with fans and lights. You might face problems like blockage in the bathroom and will also find it difficult to survive summers if you are living on the top floor. Mess food quality will improve once the student council is selected.
Faculty: Professors will be doing their jobs wonderfully, and those lectures will be enough for the exams. But when Ph.D. scholars come to take classes, the explanation part is not up to the mark. For first-years, it is a similar course for all branches and has nothing to do with the industry. Only a practical course will teach you something related to industry work. If you start studying a week before exams, you will easily pass with good grades.
Other: Chemical Engineering is best for those people whose end goal is not engineering. You will get free time to prepare for any other competition or exam or learn skills, and it will not compromise your grades. With decent placement in the department, you will also have a backup option ready. As far as campus life is concerned, it is wonderful. You will have a fest every month. A huge crowd and great artists will come to every fest. The only problem with campus life is that the lockdown time for girls is 11 PM.

The okayish college for design
Placements: For our batch, the placements are not good at all. It is very different from what is being advertised on public platforms and should not be taken for reference. But the situation might get better as my juniors are getting much better opportunities on campus than we got for our batch.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, even after constant construction throughout my duration in college, is not good. On the surface, it might look good, but they lack the bare minimum stuff for it to be considered a good design college in the first place. They spend a lot of money on departments that were never required.
Faculty: Exams here are just formality; the main weightage is given to your big project of the semester for each of the subjects. That will be considered as the priority for the subject. But with a few exceptions, both the faculty and the curriculum are not that good.
Other: The campus life and your peers are where you'll get most of your learnings from. Just do not rely on the teachers in hopes that they will teach something good.

The pros and cons of DTU in reality.
Placements: At DTU, around 80% of students are placed. The average salary package offered is 25 LPA. Placement opportunities are best. Around 90% of students are placed during the placement season. DTU has many startups. It provides a good environment for startups. We can opt for minor subjects as well. The academic load is low.
Infrastructure: Our college provides hostel accommodation for both male and female students, with different room types and amenities. Single seater is for Rs. 60,000, double seater is for Rs. 56,000, triple seater is for Rs. 52,000, and triple seater (AC) is for Rs. 72,000. The advance mess fee is Rs. 34,800. Priority is given to students from outside Delhi for hostel allocation.
Faculty: DTU conducts faculty recruitment through a structured process that includes a screening test and interviews. In 2024, DTU announced openings for 158 assistant professor positions across various disciplines. The university also employs internal assessments to evaluate faculty performance.

Chill environment, with less study burden, more mass bunks, superb fests.
Placements: Around 79% of students got placed last year from CSE branch (i.e. 389 out of 489 students) with an average salary package of 17.21 LPA. The maximum CTC offered was 85.3 LPA. For the B.Tech branch, the average CTC offered was around 15 LPA for academic year 2023-24. About 30%-40% of students got internships on campus in many big and small companies like Google, Uber, PayPal, etc.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is very good. It has two new buildings for Tech department. Wi-Fi facility is normal at many places in college campus itself but Wi-Fi doesn't give good speed. Lab facility is very poor in tech departments, most of PCs are very old so we have to carry our own laptops. Classrooms and library are awesome but library is open only from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Hostel facility is also good. Mess has decent food with non-vegetarian food also. Some hostel buildings are old but the new hostel has superb infrastructure. Casual health center is also available.
Faculty: Some teachers are really helpful but for other subjects, we have to be dependent on YouTube, books, etc. Last night study also help in our college. Curriculum is relevant to 1st semester we have to study as per our branch. Semester exams are not so difficult but many teachers deduct marks as per their wish. Passing marks are 35.
Other: There are many scholarships offered like NSP portal scholarships, Dell Aspire scholarships, MCM scholarships, and DTU fee concession scholarships, etc. Everything is awesome in our college except studies that we have to do by ourselves.

Partially satisfied but doesn't have that level of facilities that IIT has.
Placements: In my batch, there are 75 students. I don't know much about packages as I haven't been informed about placements this year. I will be seeking placement, so I don't have accurate answers at the moment. Currently, no one knows if the internship opportunities are good. The cutoff is requested to be above 9, which may cause many students to continue without an internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with proper ventilation, water, and AC facilities. Wi-Fi is provided in the hall area, and the library is well-stocked with a lot of content. The sports area is also good, with ample space and equipment to play. There are proper grounds for football and cricket.
Faculty: Teachers were good, having proper knowledge of their subjects. Yes, studying IT in the era of AI is beneficial, as it provides a solid knowledge base for the future. Semester exams were quite difficult, but since all students sit together, they had the opportunity to cheat, so the overall pass percentage is good.
Other: Too many students in batch .
