For those who don't make it to DTU, DTU is more than or like IITs.
Placements: Environment engineering is a specialized field that focuses on the application of scientific and engineering principles to protect and reserve the environment. In our branch, most companies that visit our campus are non-technical companies like Deloitte.
Infrastructure: Delhi Technological University has one of the biggest campuses in Delhi, with many food and beverage stalls, wide and big sports grounds and open green space to hang out with your friends. DTU gives life to their students as well as faculty, and I think it's the best college.
Faculty: Faculty and curriculum are a big drawback in this college. The professors are least qualified and don't have knowledge to teach. It is a great place to study with its vast collection and quiet rooms. The campus is also very green, with plenty of places to relax. Academically, my college is demanding but offers a well-rounded education. The professors are knowledgeable.
Other: Overall, according to me, DTU gives a chill life to their students as well as faculty. In my opinion, it's the best college in Delhi .

DTU Env is better than NSUT civil.
Placements: The placement scenario for Environmental Engineering (Env) is moderate, with approximately 60–70% of students securing placements. The highest package recorded for Env is 31 LPA, while the lowest is 5 LPA, with an average of 9 LPA. Some students opt for higher studies in the field of environmental engineering. The gender ratio in Env is balanced, with around 20–30 girls for every 50 boys. Graduates also secure positions in top recruiting companies such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, and others, along with opportunities in non-tech companies.
Infrastructure: DTU boasts excellent facilities. The classrooms are fully equipped with Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The campus has 11 hostels, each with its own mess and indoor gaming area. The medical center operates 24/7, and there is a sports area with various gaming courts. While there is a library, it operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is not open 24 hours a day a day.
Faculty: The faculty at DTU, especially in the Environmental Engineering department, is highly qualified. They provide industry-oriented education, preparing students for real-world challenges. Passing semester exams is relatively easy, with a pass percentage of 80% in Env. Students need to score only 35 marks, with 18 marks in the exam and 15 marks in attendance.

Good experience, exploring college life is so important.
Placements: These days, due to the recession in Tamil Nadu, placements are not top-notch but are still decent. (For 2024 and 2025 batches) There are off-campus opportunities available. Students must have strong communication skills and the necessary skillset for their desired job roles. Without these, colleges can't guarantee a job. Students need to work hard. Overall, 70-80% of students at DTU get placed, but it's not 100% in core branches. In environmental engineering, companies like Maruti Suzuki, TERI, GAIL, and EY are some of the big firms that come for placements. However, very few students get on-campus internships; most apply off-campus and do internships in college. In environmental engineering, many students go for non-teaching roles such as business analyst and associate. Some prefer to pursue higher studies. Those who focus on placements and work hard definitely get a decent job.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is absolutely great. The Wi-Fi network is often overloaded due to the large number of students. The labs are top-notch, and the hostel facilities are good, with average mess food quality. There is a medical center with various doctors available. The sports area is vast, and the infrastructure is excellent, with a big campus and greenery all around. There are 2-3 stationery shops and 2 canteens. Additionally, there are two auditoriums. The old hostels were not in good condition, but the new ones are really great.
Faculty: The curriculum is a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. It is not always aligned with industrial requirements as the industry needs knowledgeable candidates for specific job roles. It is advisable to study subjects in-depth if one wants to pursue a career in the core field. The faculty is well-educated, and there are Ph.D. students who teach us sometimes. Our academic exams include mid-semester exams, end-semester exams, assignments, and viva. Semester exams are of moderate to hard level. Core branches are quite tough. In environmental engineering, one can't get a 10 CGPA; it is really tough compared to Computer Science. They are able to score 9.5+ CGPA in their graduation.
Other: There are around 3,000 batch students, so the campus is crowded. Students usually come to college when classes are scheduled. There is a large number of students in CS and IT, while other core branches have smaller sizes. Campus life is more focused on students' concerns about placements and careers. There are fests from time to time, and students enjoy them. During Engifest (the annual fest of DTU), there is a huge crowd from other colleges. Scholarships are also available for those who are aware and eligible. I advise you to aim for a good CGPA (more than 8.0) as it will help a lot in placements and internship opportunities.

    Really good infrastructure and opportunities.
Placements: 50 to 60% placement in our branch this year so it's a good option for freshers. The highest package this year is INR 7 lakh. The top recruiting companies are Sprinkler and Infoedge. Their top roles are data analysts and business analysts. In my branch, 40 to 50 internships are provided by our college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure, like the girls hostel, is very good but the boys hostel is not, and the old building and library are beautiful and large. The labs are also well maintained with better equipment and good food quality but some hostels provide food with poor hygiene.
Faculty: The faculty in environment engineering is quite good but they are experienced people, and their way of teaching is good. The course curriculum is very easy as compared to the other courses, and semester exams are conducted every month like mock tests.

Review of DTU - Delhi Technological University.
Placements: Now, due to the recession, the placement percentage ratio is down in the environment engineering branch. Out of 75 students, only 15 placed out of 75 in October, but in 2023, it will be 70 percent, so it is a good ratio in environment engineering and the highest package is INR 26 lacs.
Infrastructure: The facilities are good in the library, hostel, canteen, or mess hostel. Especially talking about the girls hostel, better facilities are provided than the boys hostel. Now, quality food is okay, but not hygienic, and the classroom does not have proper AC in the lower branch. Overall, the infrastructure is good.
Faculty: Faculty in environment engineering are very strict in attendance and they are experienced and knowledgeable faculty as compared to other colleges. You can study for exams two days before and score more every semester.

Q:   Do I need 75% to get into DTU?

    A:

For admission to most of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered at Delhi Technological University, students are required to score 50% to 60% minimum aggregate in their last qualifying degree or course to be eligible. A course-wise list of eligibility criteria for DTU admission is mentioned in the following table:

    Course NameEligibility Criteria
    BTech

    Class 12 with 60%

    BDes

    A pass in Class 12

    BBA

    Class 12 with 50%

    MSc

Class 12 with 50% in Economics
    MTech

Relevant UG degree with at least 60%

    MDes

    4-year UG with 55%

    E-MBA

    Any UG degree with 60%

    E-MBAUG degree with 50%

    MSc

Relevant BSc/ UG degree with 55%

    E-MBA

    UG degree with 50%

    PhD

    Relevant PG degree with 55%

Hence, as per the table, it can be concluded that while all 75% scorers will be preferred at DTU, the minimum requirement to get admission and be eligible for DTU admission is comparatively low.

Q:   How can I get admission in DTU?

    A:

To get admission to BTech at DTU, go to the site of JAC Delhi and register yourself and according to the schedule attend the counseling. On the day of counseling bring all the required certificates as mentioned on the website of JAC Delhi. The list will come out on the website itself and you are done after paying all the fees. The admission is solely dependent on the rank in JEE MAIN. Check all the cutoffs of the previous years before attending the counselling.

Q:   I have scored less than 60% in 12th boards. Can I get admission for B.Tech at DTU?

    A:

To be eligible for applying to BTech admission at DTU, candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria specified by the university. For BTech admission, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with minimum 60%  aggregate with PCM and English Core as subjects. The minimum aggregate for various reserved categories is 50%-55%. Hence, whether the candidate is eligible to apply for BTech admission at DTU depends on their reservation category.

However, meeting the eligibility criteria does not gurantee admission at the university. The seat allocation is based on the applicant's score in JEE Main, followed by the JAC couselling. In case a candidate fails to secure a seat for BTech at DTU, they can check out other colleges offering ofline and online BTech courses.

Q:   Can I get admission in DTU? I have not appeared for JEE mains.

    A:

The admission criteria for BTech at DTU clearly state that JEE Mains rank is considered for the selection of eligible candidates. Therefore, it is suggested to get qualifying scores at JEE Mains for admission at DTU. Additionally, students are also required to go through the JAC counselling process to get a seat at Delhi Technological University. After the result of JEE Main, JAC counselling for seat allotment is usually conducted in four rounds. However, there are additional spot rounds conducted for vacant seats (if available).

Q:   Is there an entrance conducted by DTU for admission?

    A:

No, DTU does not conduct any entrance exam of its own for admission to any of the UG, PG or doctoral-level courses. Admission for the flagship BTech programme is based on JEE Main scores and the entire process of counselling are conducted by JAC Delhi. Further, DTU admission to all the remaining courses is mostly based on national/ university-level entrance exams, such as UCEED,  GATE,  CAT,  MAT and CMAT, among others. However, there are a few MBA specialised courses and BBA, admission to which is offered based on the past qualifying exam  (UG level) followed by an interview round.
