IIT-Bombay : A dream of many.
Placements: If I talk about placements, this is the thing IIT's are know for. At IIT-B there is a placement cell which is one of the best in the country. After getting into IIT's you should not worry about placements. At IIT-B 7th sem students are eligible for placements. This year almost 1900 job offers were made by the 350 companies. 300 students also received PPO's. Almost 83% students were placed. If I talk about my course most of the students get foreign internship as EP is research oriented branch and you get chance to work in foreign colleges.
Infrastructure: Talking about my department which is Ep, the facilities are excellent. As Physics is one of the oldest department, infrastructure wise building is not good but from inside it is maintained properly. Labs are equipped with world class modern instruments. Whole campus of iitb is covered with Wi-Fi. Talking about hostels rooms are smaller in some of the hostel but as a fresher you get H-16 which is quite good. All hostel has basic facilities like laundary services, washing machines, dryer, water cooler, gym ( each hostel has separate gym), common room with pool table and foosball, ever hostel has canteen which is open up to 4 am in morning, some old hostels has also basketball, football, badminton courts inside the hostel. As every hostel has separate mess, quality of the food depends on the mess management. Some hostel have very good mess food but some hostel has average but as there are canteen its not a thing you should be concerned.
Faculty: Faculty at iitb is best in country. These are the best mind you gonna find in India. Almost every faculty member is Ph.D. holder and many of them also working on research of new technology. They are really hard working and passionate about their streams. If I talked about relationship with students it is so hill. They try to communicate with us in most informal way possible. They do help us in every kind of academics problems. If I talk about my branch it is bit harder than any other branch. It is a research oriented branch and academics are bit tough. This branch will get you ready for any type of research related jobs and also some electrical core jobs. Some top teach companies open for Ep too along with CS and electrical.
Other: IIT's are know for the peer you find here. The life long relationships that teaches you how to survive in this world. The friends you find here are the best ones. If I talk about campus life. No other college in India is even close to IIT-B. The biggest cultural fest of Asian " the mood indigo" to techfest we have the best events happening right here in IIT-B.

There's a lot of room for every talent and a lot of opportunities for the course.
Placements: About 50% of placements are done on this campus. Around 12 LPA is the average package and the highest was 70 LPA. The lowest was around 10 LPA. Quite a few research internships and some in other non core are 25%. Management/ quantum computing/further studies and research.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi labs classrooms computer rooms good hostels, gym, and SAC hospital all are provided on the campus. The quality of food could be better but yet everything is pretty fine.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified but sometimes you have a dry leaf in the pile too which isn't helpful. The curriculum is good. It provides a basic exploration of everything. It is decently difficult is 40%.

A great platform to improvise all skills, and explore all areas.
Placements: Around 16-20 out of 40-45 passing out students from my course were enrolled in placements, while rest chose to go for higher studies. Almost all of them were placed during placement season, with good salary packages, minimum being approximately 8LPA. About the highest, it is approximately 25LPA (not very sure). Of these 16-20 students, most chose to go for non-core companies, I. e, companies which don't necessarily have profile related to our coursework. For course related companies, KLA one of the well known recruiter. The roles offered varied from software/hardware engineering, coding profile, RnD, etc. For internships, around 80% or more got their internships for 3rd year summer. Some got theirs from placement and training cell, while others applied externally in universities abroad fro projects.
Infrastructure: In the department of Physics at IIT Bombay, we have Wi-Fi access and to study, we have department library as well as computer rooms which are open 24*7 and students of physics can access them via biometric. The hostel has basic facilities such as electricity, B.Ed cupboard, shelf, table and chair for individual students, and access to electricity and water (hot water 24*7 as well) which fulfils the basic living environment, and the mess food is neither too good nor too bad. Hostel canteens operate till 3 in the morning, which is a big help for students, and savior of late night owls, which most of us are. The medical is accessible by all the students, and medicine is available by doctor's prescription. Academic fee has hospital fee included in it so we don't have to pay on visits or for medicines. For bad emergency cases, students are taken to Hiranandani hospital. For minor injuries, ambulance service is available for students to escort them hospital-hostel. For sports, we have a huge gymkhana ground accessible to all campus residents. Around which, there are indoor courts as well. Students are always welcome to participate in or try out any sport of their choice. General championships are held once in a while, interhostel. Other than that, there are other sports competitions as well.
Faculty: The faculty in my department is very knowledgeable and helpful. Thw student to teacher ratio of our department is very good and hence, professors get to know each and every student individually, really enhancing the enthusiasm and performance of students. The professors are kind and friendly, and are always there ro help. The course curriculum is good. Till second year, we have mainly foundation building courses such as quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, data analysis, and third year onwards, we dive into depth of physics by learning introduction to mew fields, such as condensed matter physics, nanotechnolofy, nuclear and particle physics, atomic and molecular physics, to name a few. In these learnings, we find the application of the coursework done in second year. This opens up opportunities and interests in these new fields and students then do research projects under peofessor's supervision in the field of their interest.
Other: I particularly chose physics, because I have always been interested in it. I am more than satisfied with the curriculum and everything else related toy coursework. The campus crowd that I have interacted with so far has ways been friendly amd helpful. The environment here is very refreshing. With a lake and a hill included in campus premises, the beauty is beyond words.

A very good college, but hostels are awful except the 1st year hostels.
Placements: Placements in the college are good. Well, our college is known for the best placements in India. But the average package offered to the students in my department is around 9 lacs per annum. Approximately 70% of the batch got placements, and others may go for higher studies or do other things like MBA, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is just sufficient except some sports facilities which are excellent. Wi-Fi facility is available in classrooms, hostel mess and in the required places. Libraries are really good, and there is a reading room which is open 24 hours. Medical and other facilities are just sufficient.
Faculty: The course curriculum has some subjects that are very good, and they are interesting indeed. But some subjects are really awful, and you just have to mug them to get marks. Faculty members are helpful and knowledgeable. They are available for your concerns most of the times.

Me, talking about my college.
Placements: The infrastructure here is good if you are from CS, otherwise its fine only, but don't get into the news of millions of package as they all are fake. But yes, you can get a decent package from any other branch. So, its good to be here in short, but don't aim for stars or the moon as it is just fine inside.
Infrastructure: It's all green here inside, if you are a nature loving person then this institute is your best place. We also have got a lake on our campus and a Sameer hill too with tons of departments and hostels. The infrastructure here is made 60 years ago, so it's not in its good position, but yes the renovation here is still going on.
Faculty: Here, you are on your own bro. The professors are highly ranked, but for their research not for teaching. If you want to get good grades then ask your friends they will get you better in life. Otherwise, be that friend to help people like me in their semester.
Other: Mood is the techfest that you get here.

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

No, this year IIT declared that no marks of class 12th should be taken into consideration while deciding JEE Mains and Advanced merit, but 75% in class 12th is compulsory for filling JEE Mains form. Below that you are not able to apply for JEE Mains.
