Now the college is Gerat, and giving a good placement .
Placements: Narula Institute of Technology boasts a placement rate of 75-85%, with branches like CSE and IT leading. The highest package offered is around 12-15 LPA, while the average package is 4-5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, and Capgemini, hiring for roles like Software Developed, Data Analyst, and System Engineer. Around 60-70% of students secure internships at companies like TCS, Wipro, and startups, gaining practical experience. The institute focuses on industry exposure and skill development and helps students achieve good placements and internships.
Infrastructure: The institute offers Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms, well-equipped labs, a rich library with digital resources, and modern seminar halls for enhanced learning. Hostels provide decent accommodation with clean rooms, 24/7 security, and Wi-Fi. The mess and canteen serve hygienic food with a variety of options, though opinion on taste may vary. Medical facilities include a first-aid center and tie-ups with nearby hospitals. Sports enthusiasts benefit from facilities for cricket, football, basketball, and indoor games. Overall, the infrastructure supports a balanced academic and extracurricular experience.
Faculty: The faculty at Narula Institute of Technology is qualified, knowledgeable, and supportive, often assisting students beyond classroom hours. The teaching quality is good, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and practical applications. The curriculum is industry-relevant, regularly updated to meet market demands, and includes skill development initiatives. Semester exams are moderate challenging, requiring consistent preparation, but the pass percentage is typically high, around 85-90%, as students receive adequate guidance and resources. The overall academic environment helps students develop a solid foundation for their careers.
Other: I like computers a lot that's why I choose this course. This course has a lot of branches. We need to update our syllabus and stay updated about the latest technology. We have 2 fests in 1 year.

Techno India University review.
Placements: Placement percentage is very low in our course which is one of the biggest problems of this college. Many selective companies come for placements and hire lower number of people. I would recommend giving students best from the start, if they want college placements or they can always go for other companies.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great. We have huge classrooms which are fully air-conditioned. The washrooms are also clean. College has three canteens and two grounds. There are all necessary labs fully advanced and equipped. I like the infrastructure a lot and it is worth it.
Faculty: Faculty members are great. They are hardworking, helpful, skilled, and most importantly understand our problems. For the exams, we have two IA which is IA2 and IA2 both are online-based MCQ tests of 20 marks each, and at the end of the semester, and ESA of 70 marks.

Review of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology.
Placements: On average, 20% of students are placed here every year but the college authority says that in our college, they give 90% placement for advertisements, but this is not fully true. The highest package on campus is 6.5 LPA. The lowest package is 2.5 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. In the past few years, there have been no company visits to our college for my courses. Students get internships on campus in software service and product-based companies but not in a core company. Network developer is the top role offered.
Infrastructure: Faculty members are helpful and friendly with most of the students mostly departmental faculty but beside this, there are a few more faculty who cannot help the students and they are doing very unfair to the students. In the hostel, food quality is average but the campus of this college is one of the finest.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful; they are highly educated and their teaching quality is below average. The semester exam at this college is quite easy and the pass percentage is 90%. Few teachers are sweet. This course curriculum is not bad .
Other: The department and faculty members are good. In terms of culture and sports, our college is the best.

It has a hostel facility for 4th-year students and in 2025, it will be opened for 3rd-year students.
Placements: Our college provides average placements. The average salary package offered is 4 LPA. Multiple companies like TCS, L&T, and TLC visit our college to take students via interviews. A maximum number of electrical students get placed then CSE then mechanical, civil, and ECE.
Infrastructure: It provides a hostel for only the 4th-year students. Maybe in 2025 hostel will be open for 3rd-year students. The canteen is closed. There are multiple PGs near the college. In the hostel, food quality is better. There is Wi-Fi but not a table, so there are some network issues. The gym equipment was reached but the gym was not started.
Faculty: Our college is under MAKAUT University. The number of faculty members is less but they are good at tuition. They helped us in any way. An odd semester is much harder than an even semester. Teachers are highly qualified and highly experienced. The extra curriculum is mandatory for MAR points that were a must to avoid year lag.
Other: Our college organises multiple fests, events, sports, and extracurricular activities.

Honest opinion about GNIT : why you should not choose it.
Placements: Only a few students get placed with a very minimal salary package of 3 LPA. In most cases, students get placed at a local company named Keventer. The salary offered ranges from Rs. 15,000-20,000 per month. Almost 80% of our seniors got placed. If students want to choose food technology at this college, I would recommend opting for M.Tech from JU or other top colleges. The most common companies like TCS, Capgemini, and Cognizant provide IT jobs every year during campus placements.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi connection is very poor. Students can never get a good network speed from free Wi-Fi. Labs are decent. Not all classrooms, but, a few numbers of smart rooms are there that have projectors, audio systems, etc. The library does not have much collection of books and most of them have outdated syllabus. The only thing is you get help from the previous year's question papers. Hostel infrastructure is not well maintained. Especially the food available there is not of good quality.
Faculty: Teachers are well-educated. Most of them pursued their master's and PhD from JU and some from IITs. The course curriculum is not relevant and will not help students in interviews or get any practical knowledge. It also does not provide students with any industry skills they can apply at their work. Exams are conducted very often. But exams are not difficult at all. Rather, if we study before for 3 to 4 days, we can still score well.
Other: Events are organised very often. An annual fest Euphynous named Zyzzva is organised. Every department has its own technical fests like Techverse, Electrophoria, Food Envision, etc. The campus is quite big. Students run different societies and clubs like eco club, music club, and other sports clubs too.

The JGEC Diary ( The good and bad side of a Tier 3 college).
Placements: In this academic year 2023-2024, 60% of final-year students are placed. The highest package is 60 LPA from Computer Science and Engineering. The lowest package is 3.6 LPA. The top recruiters are Atlassian, WTW, Knorex, Microsoft, Hexaware, L&T, etc. Ninety percent of students got internships from our college. The top roles offered in our course are Software Development Engineer.
Infrastructure: The hostel infrastructure is not too good, but they provide us with a LAN connection for the internet. In the hostel, they provide two meals a day; there is no breakfast. In front of our hostel, there are various playgrounds like football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, etc.
Faculty: In our college, some faculty members are good, but the majority are below average. Most of our faculty members completed their degrees from tier 2 or tier 3 colleges. In this course, the curriculum is mostly irrelevant. They don't prepare students to work in the industry. The difficulty level of semester exams is medium, and the pass percentage is 95.
Other: I chose this course as I didn't get a chance in NIT/IIT. The best thing about our course is that after graduation, you can either enter the IT sector or the Core sector. I hope that our college will provide good quality placements in both sectors. There are two main fests, one is the Cultural fest, and the other is the Technical fest. The Cultural fest is named JECLET, and it is the biggest fest in North Bengal.
