Best Institute in the whole North Bengal, to crack you dream company.
Placements: Until now, 20% of the students in my batch have been placed. The highest package offered was 17 LPA, at Nutanix. The lowest package so far has been 3 LPA. The average package to date is 5.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies were P360, Nutanix, Microsoft, and IBM. 10-20% of students got internships at multiple companies like Sasken Technologies Ltd and P360. Top roles offered include SRE, SDE, and Associate Software Engineer.
Infrastructure: The course was pretty good. The infrastructure is pretty decent, with good teachers and free Wi-Fi across the entire campus. There is a garden for your free time, where you can relax with friends. The canteen food is very popular and stands out for its hygiene among North Bengal colleges.
Faculty: The teachers are very good and knowledgeable enough to teach you and help you get hired by your dream company. The course is excellent for preparing you for the industry. Semester exams are reasonably difficult. The pass percentage is 100%. Exam rooms have CCTV, so there is no chance of cheating during exams. Mobiles and smartwatches are not allowed.

All about AOT by a student.
Placements: About 80% to 90% of students got placed. Most students were placed at Cognizant. More students were placed off-campus than on-campus. The highest package was 23.72 LPA, the lowest was 3.2 LPA, and the average package was 4.54 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Cognizant, IBM, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Amazon, etc.
Infrastructure: The lab infrastructure is pretty good. There are computers available for students, and teachers are very helpful. Wi-Fi is connected to the PCs, but we cannot use it for our own purposes because the PCs run Pluma OS, which is more difficult to use than Windows. Also, the admin always monitors the devices. Hostels are good but somewhat expensive. They serve two meals a day. For sports, some teachers are available to guide you. Football, cricket, volleyball, and badminton are played in the evenings.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and have proper knowledge about their subjects. They teach more than the syllabus so that we can easily crack any interview. Semester exams are difficult, but the pass percentage is quite good. The only problem is the 75% attendance requirement.
Other: The career scope in CSE is better than other B.Tech courses, so I chose this course. The best thing about my course is learning new things, like new languages and computer functions. AOT is best known for its fest; on that day, you see AOT in a new light. The college campus is excellent. There are no college scholarships available, only the Swami Vivekanand merit-cum-means scholarship.

Diploma in Computer Science and Technology - Batch of 2026
Offered by Techno Main Salt Lake

3Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life2Value for Money
Unhelpful faculty, adequate infrastructure; promising placement offers for Diploma.
Placements: ~Students who have completed their 10th or 12th and have secured 60% and above marks in the competitive exam named "Jexpo" are allowed to take admission in the 1st semester of the Diploma in the Computer Science and Technology department and it is the same for other departments. *Note: One can take direct admission (also called lateral entry) in the 2nd semester of the respective department of Diploma if he/she has completed 12th with pure Science and has secured 60% and above marks in "Voclet" exam.* ~ The highest package offered last year (in 2023) was 1.4 LPA and the average was 48k PA. ~Generally companies like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro, Amazon, etc. Visit every year. Last year (2023) companies like Amazon, TCS, Green Solution, Yazaki Indian Pvt Ltd and Price Pipe visited. ~ There's no particular internship offered in the Diploma but in the 3rd semester an HTML course is taught in the name of internship (unpaid) and it is meant for all to join the course. ~ There's no proper job offered after the Diploma. Generally, people get placed for Telecaller jobs or jobs that are related to marketing.
Infrastructure: ~ Toilets are available on every floor, ensuring easy access for students. ~ An open library is accessible for all students. However, due to the large number of students, one can hardly focus on their personal work. ~ Well-maintained labs catering to various categories offer practical learning experiences. ~ Despite the presence of labs, the Wi-Fi connectivity is still weak. ~ Availability of lifts for convenience.
Faculty: ~ Honestly, teachers are very unhelpful, especially the teachers associated with teaching the Diploma students. ~ The qualifications of the teachers are very good, yet they lag in explanation. Sometimes, teachers with different qualifications are ordered to teach a different subject. ~ This course curriculum is very helpful since the subjects are highly related to the study of B.Tech, and it does make the students industry-ready. ~ However, after the completion of the Diploma, pursuing B.Tech is highly recommended for one to ace their knowledge, as companies prefer bachelor's degree holders during recruitment. ~ The passing percentage has become very hard after 2023. The passed and failed student ratio could be 16:7.
Other: I chose this course because I thought 11th and 12th could be hard to pass. If one wants a simpler version to complete 11th and 12th, then one can choose a Diploma after the completion of 10th. Unhelpful faculty is a big negative point of this college. Therefore, I would not recommend anyone to join this college in terms of a Diploma in Computer Science and Technology. The campus is decent, and there are no such fests where Diploma students can participate unless it's farewell. Even then, you have to shell out your own money, typically ranging between 300-500 rupees, and no matter how much you refuse to contribute, they'll still have to chip in. Seniors can get pretty intense about it, leaving you with little choice but to comply. Every year, an annual sports day is organized where if one wants to participate has to pitch with their own cash (typically every activity ranges between 30-150 rupees and can also exceed this number). The location of the campus has good connectivity of public and private transport.

Disappointing college life experience.
Placements: College does not provide good placement opportunities, and reputed companies do not visit the campus. Companies like TCS and Cognizant visit our college, claiming mass recruitment, but they don't follow and offer only 3 LPA. Internships are also not provided. From our batch, only 6 out of 60 students secured placements this year.
Infrastructure: College does not allow students to use the Wi-Fi. There are no air-conditioned facilities. Labs are well-equipped. Facilities like the library, hostel, canteen, and sports facilities are good. College conducts sports week every year, which is the only good thing. Medical facilities are not available on campus.
Faculty: Some teachers are highly knowledgeable, while others can't even speak English properly. A few teachers provide helpful notes and suggestions, while others focus more on politics with students. They also provide suggestions and good marks only to their favorite students. They conduct one-semester exam, one class test, and a surprise test per semester.

I'm satisfied with college.
Placements: Percentage of students placed through GNIT campus selection is 83%. The highest salary package offered is 28 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA to 8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, IBM, Deloitte, HCL, and many more. Around 74% of students secured internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure at GNIT are quite good. Classrooms and labs might feel a bit old-fashioned, but other facilities are good. There is wi-fi to which we have free access. Library has a huge amount of books, journals, magazines, research papers, etc. There is also a common reading room where we can study in peace. As I am not a resident of hostel, I cannot describe hostel facilities. There are also facilities for sports and games, with cricket and football competitions.
Faculty: Teachers are supportive and helpful. They are friendly and each has unique teaching techniques. The teaching quality is good. Faculty are well-experienced and they have higher Degrees as their qualification. Course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Exams are hard to pass. Pass percentage is 67%.

The review of RCC Institute Of Information Technology.
Placements: I am from the information technology department; the average package was around 4 LPA and the average number of placements was around 70 percent. The highest package in 2023 was 14 LPAs, which are offered by B.M.C. and the largest recruiting company was Cognizant. The college organizes campusing and pool campusing.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide hostel facilities. Around the college area, many PGs and rented flats are available. The rent for a 2-bed sharing apartment is around 3 to 4k; the rent for a 2-bedroom flat is around 10 to 15k per month, depending on its location. The college provides Wi-Fi facilities to students.
Faculty: For the B.Tech course, there are 8 semesters in the whole period. The student-teacher ratio is 1:60, which is not so good. Most of the professors are from Jadavpur University. Some professors teaching skills are good, while others teaching skills are so boring (in my opinion).
Other: College has many fests like Bihaan, Regalia, GOT and so on. The college provides on-campus placements, which is good. During direct admission, colleges don't charge any kind of donation.
