Effectiveness of Placement Cell for BE/BTech Courses at MAKAUT

Based on reviews from students and alumni, here's an overview of the effectiveness of the placement cell for BE/BTech courses at MAKAUT:

* Placement Record: The placement record varies, with some students reporting successful placements and others mentioning difficulties in finding suitable jobs. Some reviewers mention that only a few companies visit the campus, resulting in limited placement opportunities.

* Salary Packages: Salary packages range from INR3.6 LPA to INR19 LPA, with an average package of around INR5 LPA to INR6 LPA. However, some top recruiters offer higher packages, up to INR30 LPA.

* Company Visits: Major IT companies like Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, and Wipro visit the campus, offering roles in software development, systems engineering, and digital specialization.

* Internship Opportunities: Unfortunately, MAKAUT does not provide internship opportunities, leaving students to fend for themselves.

* Training and Placement Officer: Reviewers express mixed views about the Training and Placement Officer, citing both inefficiency and lack of communication, making it challenging for students to secure placements.

B.Tech. in Food Technology - Batch of 2021

GNIT is the best college.
Placements: After higher secondary examination, around 75% of science background students are eligible for the B.Tech engineering food technology course. The highest salary package offered in the course is 4.5 LPA. Top-branded recruiting companies are Britannia, Bengal Becarage, Pepsico, Nestled, and Ganesh
Infrastructure: There are many facilities like a lab, a library, Wi-Fi, and meals throughout the day. A girls' hostel is on campus. There is a warden and a canteen. All time meal is provided. There are facilities for medical purposes. In between the campus, there is a playground.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They are always helpful towards our education. There are no semester exams in this college. We only have yearly exams, and they are quite difficult for us. The pass percentage of exams is 50%.
Other: Food technology graduates have career options in diverse fields like restaurants, hospitals, food processing corporations, beverage manufacturing enterprises, food factories, catering, package food enterprises, and food research laboratories. Fields of study and research in food technology include analytical chemistry. Food technology is a branch of food science that addresses the production, preservation, quality control, and research and development of food products. It may also be understood as the Science of ensuring that a society is food secure and has access to safe food that meets quality standards.

A student's perspective on Techno Main Salt Lake.
Placements: In 2023, nearly 91% of students in the B.Tech IT got placed, which is quite good. The highest salary package offered was around 40 LPA. The average salary package was offered between 5-6 LPA. The lowest salary package was offered between 2-3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Amazon, and Deloitte. Students secure internships in both national and international companies.
Infrastructure: Classroom are quite good and big enough for 60 students. Library is not very good because student always talks to each other. A few study laboratories are good. College does not have its own hostel but is tied up with some hostels. Sports facilities are available in college such as cricket and football. Campus building is pretty good. College also has a canteen where students can have their food.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and provide notes and homework. Students need to be serious about their future and prepare for what is taught in class. Internal exams are conducted in 4 phases, which is of 25 marks, and 5 marks for attendance. Exam is of 70 marks, and we have to score 40 marks out of 100 to pass.
Other: I have already learned frontend and want to continue with it, that's why I chose IT branch. One of the best things about this college, it is very much concerned about the CSE and IT students. Events and fests are always taking place. Campus is not very crowded, because it has 3 campuses for BCA and B.Sc.

Offered by RCC Institute of Information Technology, Kolkata

The review of RCC Institute Of Information Technology.
Placements: I am from the information technology department; the average package was around 4 LPA and the average number of placements was around 70 percent. The highest package in 2023 was 14 LPAs, which are offered by B.M.C. and the largest recruiting company was Cognizant. The college organizes campusing and pool campusing.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide hostel facilities. Around the college area, many PGs and rented flats are available. The rent for a 2-bed sharing apartment is around 3 to 4k; the rent for a 2-bedroom flat is around 10 to 15k per month, depending on its location. The college provides Wi-Fi facilities to students.
Faculty: For the B.Tech course, there are 8 semesters in the whole period. The student-teacher ratio is 1:60, which is not so good. Most of the professors are from Jadavpur University. Some professors teaching skills are good, while others teaching skills are so boring (in my opinion).
Other: College has many fests like Bihaan, Regalia, GOT and so on. The college provides on-campus placements, which is good. During direct admission, colleges don't charge any kind of donation.

Review of Asansol Engineering College.
Placements: Around 80% of students are placed every year. The highest salary package offered on-campus ranges from 12 LPA-13 LPA. The average salary package offered ranges from 5 LPA- 6 LPA and the lowest salary package offered ranges from 3 LPA - 4 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Capgemini, etc. Talking about Internships our college didn't give on-campus internships but we can apply for off-campus. Many students got internships in Tech Giants.
Infrastructure: There are all kinds of basic facilities available at our college. Our college has a Wi-Fi facility and library with all types of books available there. Lots of labs like an IT project lab, software engineering lab, an IT workshop, etc. The quality of food provided in the hostel and canteen is average.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, polite, and supportive. Most of them are PhD holders, so they are very well educated, no doubt. Course curriculum is relevant as it has subjects like C+, Java, Python, AI/ML, and Core subjects like COA, DSA, and OS in its syllabus. Semester exams are quite difficult here students have to start studying at least 1 month before the exam to get a good CGPA.

Satisfied with the faculty, but placements might improve by 2027, infrastructure is good.
Placements: The college placements are good, but due to the current economic recession, placement has been affected a bit. Many students from the mechanical and civil engineering departments have been placed in IT companies. Companies like Accenture, Capgemini, and Cognizant recruit at the college. Cognizant recently conducted a training program called "Stepping Stone."
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi in every lab and hostel room. There are two hostels for girls and two for boys. The food is good, especially the daal. We get four meals a day: breakfast at 8:30 a.m., lunch at 1:00 p.m., snacks at 6:00 p.m., and dinner at 9:00 p.m. Both the college and hostel infrastructure are good.
Faculty: The faculty are good, and some are really very helpful. Mentors are provided to each and every student. Teachers have very good knowledge and are well-qualified. There are four internal exams, CA 1,2,3,4 (25 marks) +5 marks for attendance=30. And semester exams 70 marks Total 100 marks. Practical exams are separate. Pca 1,2 for 40 marks including lab manual writing, viva, lab attendance and a final viva or practical 60 marks =100 marks.
Other: The best thing about it is that it gives me the flexibility to go into either hardware or software. Plus, the job market for ECE is predicted to grow in the future. The college also has some great fests, including a cultural fest and a tech fest. The tech fest has events like Techhackatron, Technovation, Robotrix, and Cinematrix, and they offer exciting cash prizes. As a West Bengal student, I can avail of the Swami Vivekananda scholarship. There are also extracurricular activities like karate classes, a music club, and a tech club.

Review of Guru Nanak Institute of Technology.
Placements: On average, 20% of students are placed here every year but the college authority says that in our college, they give 90% placement for advertisements, but this is not fully true. The highest package on campus is 6.5 LPA. The lowest package is 2.5 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. In the past few years, there have been no company visits to our college for my courses. Students get internships on campus in software service and product-based companies but not in a core company. Network developer is the top role offered.
Infrastructure: Faculty members are helpful and friendly with most of the students mostly departmental faculty but beside this, there are a few more faculty who cannot help the students and they are doing very unfair to the students. In the hostel, food quality is average but the campus of this college is one of the finest.
Faculty: Yes, teachers are helpful; they are highly educated and their teaching quality is below average. The semester exam at this college is quite easy and the pass percentage is 90%. Few teachers are sweet. This course curriculum is not bad .
Other: The department and faculty members are good. In terms of culture and sports, our college is the best.

Q:   How is the overall infrastructure of MAKAUT?

A:
{Source: B.Tech students & alumni]

MAKAUT offers a moderately busy campus life with a mix of academic and extracurricular activities. The dress code is flexible, and students have access to multiple sports facilities and a well-stocked library. The college has a hygienic mess food system and a fair attendance policy. Academically, the college follows a textbook-based teaching methodology with easy exam preparation and a well-maintained library. The campus is secure with guards and CCTV cameras present, but outsiders cannot enter without permission. Ragging is strictly prohibited, and students must seek permission to leave the hostel premises. All modes of transportation are available from the campus, making it accessible to students.

Based on the reviews provided, the overall infrastructure of the college appears to be very good and modern. All reviewers mention that the classrooms are clean and equipped with modern technology such as projectors, whiteboards and e-learning facilities. The campuses have free Wi-Fi and dedicated labs for each course, providing students with ample resources for their studies. Overall, the infrastructure of the college seems to be conducive to learning and provides a comfortable living environment for students.

Summary: The infrastructure of the college is excellent, with modern facilities, free Wi-Fi and dedicated labs for each course. The hostels are well-maintained, but some students may find the triple sharing of rooms to be inconvenient.
