It provides good placements in 2022, a good curriculum, good campus life, and great academics.
Placements: Placements have been excellent this year, with students receiving high offers at the start of their fourth year. The highest off-campus salary package offered is 2.4 CPA. Most salary packages range from 9 LPA to 12 LPA for core companies in branches like mining, ceramic, chemical, and civil, and 12 LPA-18 LPA for additions like mechanical, electronics, etc. For non-core, the salary package offered is 12 LPA-16 LPA for analytics roles, and it is 18 LPA-25 LPA for developer roles. The highest on-campus salary package is 45 LPA. Various top companies, such as Saint Gobain Fact Analytics, Calderys, etc., provide good internships in our branch. About 90% of students got placed in our course, with about 50% going to non-core roles like software, analytics, etc. The rest go to core fields like refractories, cement industries, steel industries, etc., like Tata Steel, Dalmia Oil, Jindal, etc. For biomedical, out of 29 people, 22 attended placements, and 20 of them were placed with the lowest salary package of 5 LPA and the highest of 26 LPA.
Infrastructure: Every department has its own separate building with Wi-Fi, elevators, seminar halls, reading rooms, well-equipped labs, and senate halls for discussion. A central library is also open for study throughout the day, with a capacity of 1,000 students at a time. There are two girls' hostels, CVR and KMS. There are seven boys' hostels, DBA, SD, VS, MV, HB, MS, and GDB. There are two hostels for married students, as well as quarters for them. Each hostel has its own mess as well as day and night canteens where cheap food is available. Canteens include Calorie, Rental, Hexagon, and Dosa Plaza restaurants. There is an institute dispensary where the doctor is available for all medical treatments and checkups. An Apolo pharmacy is also there for medicine and other medical-related shopping. All sports are played in a large stadium. There is a Sachin Tendulkar sports complex that has an inbuilt cricket pitch and nets for practicing. There are badminton courts and table tennis rooms in each hostel. There is a gym in each hostel. There is a volleyball court, a basketball court, a tennis court, and a swimming pool. The mess food is mostly well prepared and good, except for a few days. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians can enjoy the mess food here.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified, having doctorate degrees from reputed and prestigious institutions and doing great research as well as project work. Because most professors read directly from slides, most of the work must be done by the students themselves. The teaching quality may not always be up to par. The curriculum is updated regularly to meet industry demands, and there are also courses to develop soft skills along with technical skills. If a student is interested in core placements or in higher studies, then studying only from the curriculum may be sufficient. Semester exams are pretty average. The question papers are neither too tough nor too easy for most of the subjects, but some subjects have tough question papers and tough marking schemes, which vary from professor to professor. The pass percentage varies from subject to subject but is mostly 85%–90%.
Other: I chose this course as ceramics is a growing field with applications in most fields like whiteware technology, electroceramics, nuclear ceramics, etc. The best thing about this course is that one can get a good core placement without being too hectic and, at the same time, develop other skills for non-core placements. Dual-degree students get the advantage of higher studies. There are about 60–70 clubs for all kinds of extracurricular activities like debating, social work, sports, singing, dancing, science, electronics, robotics, etc. Scholarships are provided to meritorious students and also to less-privileged students by various companies or organisations. The campus is 1200 acres, which provides beautiful scenery to roam across. The connectivity is greatly improved due to the new airport facilities at Rourkela, which will open in December. Innovision, Vriddhi, and Cosmopolitan are some of the well-known festivals. The crowd contains productive individuals looking to explore various domains and put their efforts forward. One can pursue any career or field of their own interest after coming here. The number of assignments in our course is excessive, and it would be preferable if they were reduced and replaced by live projects.

    Really good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: According to previous year Statistics our branch does have better output with great placements. And some even placed in top roles irrespective of our branch and a few choose to continue in research according to their interests. Almost everyone got internships in various companies, Ventures, and other manufacturing companies.
Infrastructure: Currently our batch hasn't been given any instructions regarding offline colleges reason being the core pandemic. We are eagerly waiting to barge in as quickly as possible. Hope we enter this vintage institute soon. But I got a basic knowledge on the quality of the facilities provided by our institute through various web sources and our respective seniors. Facilities were decent and adequate. Our college is meant to provide everything that is needed for a student and hospitality is acceptable. Every department were provided with decent infrastructure and respective blocks in order to execute the required amenities and workshops. Our college is well known for its on-field exposure and insights provided to the respective students.
Faculty: Currently our college is being run through online classes so the impact provided by a tier-1 institutes hasn't been experienced yet. So I can't come to any conclusions based on this anatomy. But yes semester exams were comparatively difficult and challenging.
Other: To be factual I am interested in Electronics and communication studies with hands on coding and virtual languages as today's world is biased on tech and Artificial intelligence. But unfortunately I couldn't able to clear the cutoff and even pushed back with other factors like Home state-Other state quota, reservation etc. , but I opted this branch as this branch has some special insights of upgradation and future impact as now a days of very smart phone, Tech companies including vehicle manufacturing were keenly using Ceramic based technology and other materials available in earths crust. And another reason being NIT RKL being a top institute and holds a greater legacy known throughout this nation. And I also came to know about many fests and exposure that are gained through this institute.
