Q:   Is Punjab University under CUET?

A:

Yes, Punjab University is under CUET. All postgraduate courses at Central University of Punjab, including the M.Ed., require CUET PG. If you have not taken the CUET PG, the university will not evaluate your application for admission.

A national level entrance test for postgraduate programs in India is called the Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG). The National Testing Agency (NTA) is in charge of conducting it. The test consists of three portions and is based on multiple-choice questions:

Subject-specific Test (SST) and General Test (GAT)
WAT: Writing Ability Test
The GAT part evaluates the candidate's aptitude and general knowledge. The SST portion assesses the candidate's familiarity with the field of study they intend to pursue. A candidate's writing abilities are evaluated in the WAT portion.

Admission to postgraduate programs at Central University of Punjab is entirely based on performance in the CUET PG exam. Your other academic credentials, such as the grades you earned in your bachelor's degree, won't be taken into account by the university for admission.

Q:   How to get admission in Panjab University? What all exams should I give?

Q:   Is M.A. at Panjab University worth the investment?

A:
{Source: M.A. students & alumni}

After analyzing the feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good faculty: Many students praised the professors' qualifications, knowledge, and approachability.
* Well-structured course curriculum: The curriculum is relevant, and students appreciate the theoretical foundations.
* Infrastructure and amenities: The campus is well-maintained, with decent facilities, including a library, gym, and recreational spaces.
* Exposure to various activities: The university offers various extracurricular activities, festivals, and events, allowing students to explore their interests.

Cons:

* Placement record: The placement rate is relatively low, and many students rely on self-effort or pursuing higher education (e.g., NET or Ph.D.) for career advancement.
* Limited industry connections: The university's ties with industries seem limited, resulting in fewer job opportunities for students.
* Research-oriented internships: While some internships are available, they tend to be research-focused rather than corporate-driven, limiting practical experience.
* Academic intensity: Some students felt that the course load was too heavy, with little scope for hands-on learning or industry application.

In conclusion, whether M.A. at Panjab University is worth the investment depends on individual goals and expectations. For those seeking a strong academic foundation and theoretical knowledge, the university seems suitable. However, for those looking for direct industry exposure, job guarantees, or extensive career opportunities, they may need to supplement their degree with additional efforts or consider alternative options.

Recommendation: If you're considering the M.A. programme at Panjab University, weigh the pros and cons carefully, focusing on your academic and career aspirations. Consider networking with faculty and peers, exploring extracurricular activities, and developing transferable skills to enhance your prospects.

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

    Infrastructure and facilities are good.
Placements: The placements cell is managed by the different department's teachers. Many companies recruited multitalented students. The university provides placements for every student from different departments. In UIET, department the highest salary package is offered every year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities are average. The college provides all kinds of labs. Classrooms are equipped with air-conditioner. The hostel conditions are very bad. The campus facilities and medical facilities are good. The hostel is not equipped air- conditioner.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly qualified, and many of them are PhD holders. Teachers are well-experienced, and they teach us good discipline and respect. The course curriculum followed by the college is very helpful to all students.

A good place if you need knowledge. But there are no placements.
Placements: There are no placements as such. One has to search for a job. A lot of people go for further studies. Its a good place to study if you crave for knowledge. But not so much for the placements. One can go for Nuclear Medicine if they need good placements.
Infrastructure: Nice classrooms and Labs. Labs are equipped with many basic instruments that are required for life sciences. Phase contrast, light microscope, laminar air flow hood, autoclave, water baths, incubators, shaker, oven just to name a few. One can get other things related to the apparatus very easily.
Faculty: Teachers are really supportive and nice. Always ready to help. There are only 15 students in one batch so every student gets good amount of attention. One gets to learn about a lot of practical skills in the last semester during thesis. We learnt a lot about cell lines and how we can maintain them.
Other: There are curricular activities like sports day and festivals are celebrated.

This college has good infrastructure indeed.
Placements: As we are yet to get graduate and working on our thesis work, we have no clue about placements. Regarding our seniors, they got placed in research projects such as in PGI as they were holding an entrance exam and further by an interview. Our super seniors are quite well-settled and pursuing their doctoral studies in renamed universities. There is no place as such is carried out by the universities. One has to stand up on their own and look out for the opportunities, where they can grab and get a hold of it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite impressive. They tend to have plenty of instruments, which provides the student freedom to freely approach their wild and novel ideas and carry out the various technical approaches to get the aimed outcome. The faculty of the department is quite supportive, helpful and tend to help in every possible way. They got a huge amount of instruments and even students from other departments tend to visit our department and get their samples analysed.
Faculty: The course which I am enrolled is somehow the new one coming up which is just 15-20 years back. These are a basic applicative approach to cure as well as to benefit human life. The faculty are quite helpful and supportive. They tend to value your inputs and supports your hard work and dedication.

A good exposure to the university life.
Placements: There had been no such placements by our department, but yes our many seniors went abroad in renowned colleges for higher studies, and few of them have got an admission in very good colleges like PGI, AIIMS, etc. Few of our super seniors are currently working in nanotechnology-based industries, food industries and many other MNCs which is quite a good achievement in itself, I think. For the rest, I don't have any idea about the salary which is being offered to them. There is also a placement cell in our university, but no such companies have yet visited our department.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our department is fine, but PU is known for its best in science labs, lab equipment and other technical machines, which is true, but they need to improve it more. Also, the teaching faculty here is good. Here, Wi-Fi, library, medical facilities, sports etc., are being provided to us by our university. Also, the quality of the food available here in the canteen is just fine. Hostel rooms here are okay, but PU needs to update and reconstruct their infrastructure which will bring out the best in it.
Faculty: Teaching faculty is really good here. They are experienced, helpful and good in every way. They try their best to help students. Also, student to faculty ratio here is 30:1. This course curriculum was very useful to me as I got to share my experience with many people through this, at the same time.
Other: PU keeps updating itself with more fests, events and such activities. Every festival and important days of our history are celebrated here with great passion and enthusiasm. I love it.

    Less placements but good infrastructure.
Placements: Not much around 30 percent placement. The highest 20lakhs and average around 10 lakhs min 8 Lacs was offered. There is always a scope of improvement hence my department can also improve in bringing up cell lines more quickly so that the time is not wasted.
Infrastructure: Fantastic infrastructure with well Wi-Fi, labs and classroom. Food, mess quality is fantastic. Sports day is well conducted. The best things surroundings well maintained, fabulous teachers with understanding. Need more recognition is underrated as it require.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, well qualified and dignfied. Course is quite relevant. Hence, it prepare us according to UGC NET exam the whole course involves the proper set up which topics need to be covered at what point of time hence that is marvelous.
