SNU Chennai offers three specializations under the four-year BTech course. These are Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS), Computer Science & Engineering- Internet of Things (IoT), and Cyber Security (CSE). Admission to all these courses are done through a common admission process. Candidates are selected based on a valid SNUCEE score, followed by a PI round.

To get admission to a full-time BTech course at SNU Chennai, candidates must pass Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Applicant must have the Class 12 marksheet and pass certificate at the time of applying for the course. It is an important component of the selection process. Candidates who will not be able to meet the qualification requirements will not be able to participate in the selection rounds.

As per the official sources, the total tuition fee of the BTech course offered at SNU Chennai is INR 12 lakh. The total fee will include a refundable caution deposit (one-time) & admission fee (one-time) payable at the time of admission as well. Hostel, mess, and transport charges will be applicable only for the students availing these facilities. Hence, the final fee for each student shall vary at the time of admission.

The University has not disclosed the 2022 placement details for BTech. However, the NIRF report 2023 is released, which incorporates the combined placement data for UG (4-year) courses for both Chennai and Delhi NCR campuses. Yes, SNU Chennai admission takes place through the SNUCEE entrance exam, it is according to this exam, candidates are chosen for the personal interview round and further selected for admission. The faculty of the institution takes the personal interview.

SNUCEE takes place in four phases from April to June, however, candidates can appear only once for the exam. Candidates can refer to the university website to have a look at the upcoming dates and updates for the SNUCEE entrance exam.

Yes, SNU Chennai offers BTech seats through JEE Mains however not many seats are set aside for admissions based on the JEE Main score. Students with a JEE Main score of a minimum 90 percentile may be called directly for an Interview.

As the number of seats through this route is very small, it is recommended that candidates appear for SNUCEE even if they have scored more than 90 percentile in JEE Main Exams.
