Don't come here until you can learn advance things on your own.
Placements: There are no placements in the Physics department here; you have to find a job on your own. Including me, there are very few students who got some teaching jobs after the course, and very few students qualified for CSIR-JRF. If you are looking for a job and placement, don't even think about this place.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and laboratory facilities are excellent, but hostel facilities are below average. The department building and labs were a piece of art, but teachers don't understand how to teach using these facilities. If you are good at self-studying, then you will survive here. Hostel facilities are so poor, with no cleanliness. The hostel food (especially roti) is something even dogs don't eat. Though there are a few other food options available outside the hostel.
Faculty: Only teachers in the theoretical physics branch have an excellent understanding of theories and teaching, and the department is over-dominated by experimental physics faculty members, and they don't understand what they teach and ask. Also, these teachers are very insensitive towards students and don't care about their future.
Other: My batch enjoyed college life, but not the academics that much; the teachers are not good. I pursued this course to pursue my career in theoretical physics, but when I came here, I was disappointed by 99% of the faculty.

Pune university is a great place to study.
Placements: I have not heard about placements and they offer placements in Physics. But it offers great help in Ph.D. as TIFR and IUCCA campuses are inside the SPPU campus and IUCCA students attend the classes with students in the first year.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is world-class. The campus is lush and has enough greenery and is equipped with all the new equipment including Wi-Fi access all over the campus. It has over five canteens which gave cheap and good food for students the hostel is great as well but seats are limited for a hostel so not everybody will get the hostel a large number of different departments are there inside the university and regular inter department as well as intra department competitions are held for sports and other extra curricular activities. There is a full-time medical facility available for students on the campus and a lot of security is also available throughout the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are great, and the department has several teachers who have done the post talk from outside India and everybody is well experienced and has a lot of papers published under them. Students also have a lot of people doing Ph.D. on the campus under our teachers and the laboratory is well-equipped with instruments, and the classroom is also good with Wi-Fi access. The syllabus is very tough, and the teachers are very strict regarding attendance. The assignments and the syllabus are mainly focused on the all-around knowledge development of the children and not just on the marks. It also helps for the various Ph.D. entrance is such as zest TIFR net set and other teachers are very helpful and it is difficult to pass the semesters with good grades, but teachers are very helpful, and they are sure that everybody understands where has been taught in the class.

Physics Dept. Is really good if someone wants to do the lectureship or want to go for the research.
Placements: There are placements for other departments of Pune university, but if when we talk about the physics department, there are no placement opportunities for the students through the Physics Dept. But some students having interest in the statistical branch of physics can apply for the campus selection through statistics department. So for the students, as there is no placement, one has to apply for the NET or the Jest exam and also can go further for the lectureship or research.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good enough as the whole campus is provided with a Wi-fi network. Also, there is a free health centre for students, in the department. There is also a badminton court and, for the other sports, a separate court ground is available. Classrooms also have a Wi-Fi, projector and a sound system available. There are also many labs in which PhD students are guided do to their research. Also, the department has a separate canteen, and the food is good. Lastly, about the hostel room, some buildings are not good, and if you are lucky, then you can get good rooms.
Faculty: The professors in the department are highly qualified as many of them have completed their PhD from popular universities in the world. They are very helpful to the students. Every teacher in the department is an expert in his field of physics. Also, the student to faculty ratio is large, but it doesn't matter because as they are available for every student.
Other: University organises many events and some of them are conducted in the physics department. There are also some educational programs conducted at the international levels. There are also many scholarships for the students.

Q:   Is B.Com at UniPune a good choice?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:
* Good faculty members who are knowledgeable, helpful, and experienced
* Relevant and industry-ready course curriculum
* High-quality teaching quality with good explanations
* Good infrastructure and facilities, including Wi-Fi, labs, and libraries
* Availability of scholarships and financial aid
* Opportunities for internships and placements
* Strong sense of community and campus life

Cons:
* Poor placement record (around 20%-40%)
* Limited job opportunities after graduation
* Average salary package (INR 2-4 LPA)
* Few companies visit the campus for recruitment

Overall, while UniPune may not offer excellent placement records, it seems to excel in terms of academic reputation, faculty quality, and campus resources. However, students should carefully weigh these factors against their individual career goals and expectations.

It's essential to note that individual experiences may vary, and some students might have successful careers despite the challenges mentioned above. For those who prioritize academic excellence and are willing to explore additional opportunities outside of campus recruitment, UniPune could still be a suitable choice.

Recommendation: Consider weighing the pros and cons carefully and conducting thorough research on the university's strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, reach out to current students, faculty, or alumni to gain a deeper understanding of the programme and its outcomes.
